36. Are Israeli Jews Happy?
Syd Chaden ,   Palermo Calif USA   (04.25.13)
It depends upon their perspective. If someone is floundering in the sea, because their boat has sunk, and a lifeline is thrown to them, they can either be happy because the lifeline can save them, or they can be unhappy, because their boat has sunk and they are floundering in the sea, lifeline notwithstanding. Similarly, Israeli Jews, who live in the only pro-Jewish country in an anti-Semitic world, can either be happy to live in the pro-Jewish country, or they can be unhappy because they live in an anti-Semitic world. The rest, the cost of things, the difficulties, the inconveniences, are only details.

38. ISRAELIS ARE HAPPY!
Netanya ,   Netanya   (04.25.13)
I find Israelis very happy. Israel is a great place for children and seeing them everywhere enjoying themselves makes adults happy also. The kids play outside at all hours, are in the malls, get together and make life long relationships. The men have these strong ties to each other from their army days, which continue throughout their lives. The Israeli families are tight and there is lots of love. The children, as adults go visit their parents and family get-togethers are frequent. When I go to visit Israeli families, they always make me feel at home and like I am part of their family, the warmth and inner happiness is contagious. Israelis walk on the boardwalk in tel aviv freely and the cafes are always booming with business. Neighbors sit outside drinking coffee and chatting. How can anyone say that Israelis or Jews here are not happy? The writer is very mistaken. There are some Jews or Israelis that find money is more important than anything, and they are not happy in Israel. The regular Israeli is happy, however disappointed, since he would like to see more social justice and be able to afford to live an easier life, buy a house and put a bit of money in the bank. But money doesn't buy happiness, how you live and love do.
39. #31 no infrastructure? WTF are you on?
Netanya ,   Netanya   (04.25.13)
"Washed up" is the last thing that can be said about Israel today, which is on the forefront of inventions, technology, biotech and everything else. Israel is not perfect, but can you think of anyplace that is? I know USA isn't and the people there are not really happy, they have money, but no idea what life is about. As for your mini-holocaust comment, I have no idea what that even means. The state should buy you a one way ticket to a different country and take away any Israeli privileges that you do have.
40. Most Israeli Jews Happy
Zechariah   (04.25.13)
Jews may grumble but in Israel enough are happy defending Judaim in all its manifestations after the Shoah Pogroms Severe Discrimination and Harsh Dhimmi always Threatening .
