1. Just blab it out
Steve ,   USA   (04.22.13)
Why is it that media outlets know this stuff if it is supposed to be secret information. Just like the Azerbaijan airbase secret. Could it be that they don't like Israel? Silly question.
2. Wise decision by Jordan
Cipora Julianna Kohn ,   Z   (04.22.13)
it is in the interest of the entire region that chemical weapons do not fall into the hands of Islamic terrorists, be they shia or sunna. furthermore, assad must be ousted. he and his family have shown that they are no better than any genocidal totalitarian regimes. if they can massacre and torture children, then they are beyond any redemption.
3. Very nice of the tiny king ....
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (04.22.13)
..... but Israel wouldn't necessarily need his permission. If we needed to use it, we would, and he knows it. He wouldn't do anything about it, either. Were Jordanian armed forces to fire at an Israeli warplane, a world of hurt would immediately descend upon Jordan, and the Jordanians know they are no match for the Israelis.

no scrt the earth space does not belong to jordan and what they do in airspace is not secret
5. Related to the US troops?
Jonny ,   Cape Town   (04.22.13)
If true, and one cannot believe everything one reads these day this is probably related to the US sending in some troops to Jordan, to provide logistical help.

The agent provocateur appears again. "Sarah" -You are showing just how tiny and sick your mind is yet again. Please, for your good and ours do go see a competent psychiatrist soon.

The entire sane, normal world knows that Sarah B. is correct. What she is saying is obvious and common knowledge to everyone - even to the Jordanians themselves. I fail to understand what you have against her?

Last time Israel "borrowed" Jordanian air space, it was to destroy the Iraqi nuclear reactor. I think that was doing a favor to the world (and they sure bluffed Abdullahs daddy into believing they were Egyptians!). Since the only reason Israel would fly over Jordan would be to help contain the insanity in Syria and ensure her own safety, and certainly not to get a bird's-eye view of Jordan/"palestine". Abdullah the Weak knows this and certainly wouldn't hinder Israel in any way, He gave permission in order to show what a "great" statesman he is, but his permission is actually meaningless.

Oh, I don't think so. Israel is not in the habit of seeking Uncle Sam's permission when it comes to existential issues. "Mama America?" I think you need to take some citizenship classes, if you're planning to remain in the United States.
12. Every time you see Obama in the picture
Pim Pam Pum ,   Stella!   (04.22.13)
asking for a favor "on behalf" of Israel, you can be sure Israel will be the sucker for Obama to implant the Muslim Brotherhood in Syria. We do not learn? What has to be done by Israel to protect itself, must be done ,without foreign interference .We know better what is good for us than Obama.

If a handful of barefoot warlords in Somalia can defeat the United States ..... well, you figure it out. Moreover, the United States achieved nothing in Iraq, nothing in Afghanistan, nothing in Yemen and very definitely nothing in Libya. So what on earth are you babbling about? You don't know that half of what Israel has in its arsenal, and if we ever pull out all the stops and cease being concerned about collateral damage, we'll be pretty tough to take down. And if we do go down -- we're going to take as much of the world with us as we can and render the rest of it uninhabitable for the next 100,000 years. If we cannot be left alone in peace and quiet in our tiny sliver of land, we will see to it that no one else can enjoy peace and quiet in their lands, either. Fair's fair.

It's not the United States' full potential, but it represents its maximum abilities. Quality trumps quantity, every time. Moreover, given the extraordinary support that Israel enjoys in the United States, the likelihood of enmity between the two nations is virtually nil. On the other hand, Americans don't much care for Moslems, a point driven home by the events of the Boston Marathon just last week. Trust me -- whatever Israel wants to do in the Middle East will meet with overwhelming approval from the people of the United States.

19. Common interests
Get Real ,   UK   (04.22.13)
Jordan and Israel have common interests and concerns in regard to Syria, and perhaps even further afield. So no surprise here other than it is published, but that may be the pupose to deter the use of chemical weapons.

Actually, Jordan and Israel are drifting further apart, and the king is losing control of his increasingly fundamentalist population. The vote in Jordan's parliament to free the murderer who killed six innocent Jewish girls is evidence enough, the absurd allegations that Israelis were responsible for the drowning death of a tour guide who shirked his responsibilities and went off for a swim is more evidence. The censure of a member of Jordan's parliament because he shook hands with Shimon Peres has tipped the scales irretrievably. Just as Morsi's Egypt is no friend to Israel, neither is Abdullah's Jordan. Neither country has adhered to the terms and conditions of their respective treaties with Israel -- which just goes to show you that treaties entered into with Arab states are worthless.
21. Sarah.B is partially correct
zionist forever   (04.22.13)
True Jordan would not stop Israel if it illegally used its airspace to attack Syria's WMDS they are worried as hell about Syria themselves and unlike Israel they don't have the capability to mount a large scale ariel assault. The problem is unless it was pre agreed the element of surprise may be lost because unless they knew what the purpose of Israeli aircraft in Jordanian airspace was and was agreed to then Jordan would intercept the Israeli jets and as soon as Syrian radars detected this they would probably catch onto Israel's plan and prepare for it. If its agreed upon in advance then its just a matter of a phone call to the king saying our jets are approaching the border with Jordan now so don't intercept them. That way they could fly unobstructed and less risk of Assad finding out the plan.

The title should read like this: Since the short useless king can't help the poor Syrians, his majesty has begged Israel to do the job for him. Dear King! Give Palestine back to the real Palestinians and go back to Macca. Syria will also solve itself if you do this.
