Jerusalem was only 2 cities for just under 20 years from Israel's independence to the end of the 67 war. In over 2,000 years, that 20 year period was the only time the city was divided. And during that time, it was divided by a conflict with no actual border. And then it was controled by the Jordanians. Now it is one city, it is Israel's and it will continue to be to because Jerusalem is the capital of the Jewish people. That supercedes any claim the so called Palestinian people may have to it.

Having been there several times, it is patently obvious that Jerusalem is a single united city under Israeli authority. Once can walk freely through the entire city. Even within the walls of the Old City, it is not apparent when you cross from one quarter to another.
