Excellent article. Israel needs a government with the guts and self respect to call a spade a spade. Britain's past conduct towards Israel is full of treachery and it still is. Britain had no right to tear away almost 80% of our land and give it to Arabs. The land called Jordan was part of the Jewish Homeland. Unfortunately the history lesson by the author cannot be contradicted. There is a continuation today of the British Foreign Office pro Arabic policy which has not altered since the 1920s. The British espouse fairness for Israel but it always falls short of practical implementation. I am a British national but as a secular Jew I have to recognise that the pro Israel faction is definitely in the minority mainly due to the lack of unbiased information in the media (excluding the Telegraph newspaper). The name of this person is General Orde Wingate. While in service during the Mandate this British officer violated his commanders orders and trained the Jewish Underground, Haganah and mostly the Palmach, how to become an efficient fighting force. This by itself enabled Israel to successfully defend itself against the invading Arab armies in 1948 and later on led to the formation of the IDF based on the principles taught by this remarkable pious Christian.
