1. Obama's "red lines" are perpetually "moving lines."
Cipora Julianna Kohn ,   Z   (04.26.13)
obama has neither vision, nor leadership, nor a sense of morality.
2. sooner, much sooner than i expected
jack ,   northern Israel   (04.26.13)
Obama's word isn't worth the paper it is written on. Yes Obama wanted to deliver his speach to the " next generation of Israel" and not to the political leaders of Israel. How sad it must be to see that Obama instead of keeping his first promise as to American intervention, drops his protective attitude and is trying to avoid to admit the use of chemical warfare with "the extend of use has not been proveb to bee sufficient etc.etc. America hasn't learned a thing about foreign politics and instead of fulfilling commitment and a.o. acknowledging that the iranian bomb too is here within tops 2 months-and military wide wipeout action has to be taken-Obama starts to supply warfare to israel and like he tricked the youngsters in his Binyanei Ha'oma speach nowc leaves the floor to Israel to break her head. What a coward and what a greenhorn"promoter of The Arabic spring. And all this one week after Boston!!!! Americans kick his ass!
3. Chemical weapons in the wrong hands
(04.26.13)
They're already in the wrong hands if they've been used on humans, obviously.
4. War Not Yet Declared
Mark ben Josef ,   USA   (04.26.13)
All these people in Congress that have the actual authority to declare war and authorize something. Yet not a single resolution yet drafted. The power to declare war is a Congressional power, specifically enumerated as a Congressional power in the US Constitution.
5. Congressional hot air
Cameron ,   USA   (04.26.13)
There is zero desire in the US for active intervention into Syria. We know full well who would be saddled with the entire mess while others ran to sit on the fence. The cavalry is not riding in on this one.
6. To: No. 4
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (04.26.13)
The president can ask Congress for a declaration of war or, as commander-in-chief, he can invoke the Emergency Powers Act and send troops abroad without asking for a declaration of war.
7. To: No. 5
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (04.26.13)
And if someone were to enter the United States with an easily concealable small container of sarin, or some weaponized anthrax, or botulin toxin, and release it -- killing hundreds of thousands -- you could end up regretting your decision to do nothing. You have to understand that you are dealing with terrorists and madmen, who will stop at nothing and who really get off at the prospect of a really big pile of dead bodies. They're crazy enough to be capable of anything, but not so crazy that they would ever try to do anything against Israel. The United States is Target No. 1 -- a great big sitting duck. Both the Syrian government and the Syrian rebel elements know what would happen to Syria should they attempt to do anything against Israel. Basically, Syria will cease to exist. Along with most of its population. Do you have any idea what a tiny teaspoonful of botulin toxin can do if released in an American reservoir? How about sarin released in a New York City subway? Or weaponized anthrax in a crowded mall or in a baseball stadium filled to capacity? Or all of the foregoing. Do you have any idea at all? An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. The United States, and possibly the United Kingdom (less likely) are the countries that need to be most concerned about the weapons of mass destruction stockpiled in Syria. Not Israel. Ignore the threat very much to your peril, Cameron.
8. The Desire to Invade
Mark ben Josef ,   USA   (04.27.13)
Congressmen and Senators are the ones who want to invade. They have the power to require it. But to use that power, they have to declare it. Obama is hesitant because of the Iraq War lies and neocon-manufactured Intelligence. If Congressmen and Senators want a war, they have to sell it and vote it if the President isn't so inclined.
