Look at it this way ... there are no palestinians on banknotes, the palestinians buy their good using banknotes with the faces of famous Israeli politicians and in future they will have pictures of famous Israeli poets. No Arafat, no Abbas, just Israelis .. maybe our next set of notes should be based on famous settlements. Or possibly rusty keys on a sign that says no right of return. I wonder if Abbas would threaten to take us to the ICC over that one?

They were given to sterile Holocaust survivor women who could have no children of their own. I cannot imagine anything more cruel and inhuman. Do you think those Yemeni mothers ever stopped mourning their children, especially when -- mirabile dictu -- they were never given the bodies for burial?
34. Justice, injustice israeli style.
michael Pielet ,   israel   (04.26.13)
Mizrahim, innocent mizrahim, Moshe Katsav, they are sent to jail for crimes they did not commit by a politicized court, judiciary. There is no justice in Jerusalem, today!

This is something (and possibly the only thing) you, Arabs, are really superior at: twisting facts, not allowing WELL-DOCUMENTED truths confuse you. How dare you compare our albeit controversial but democratically elected political leaders, recognized by world bodies, to a bunch of bloodhounds elbow-deep in our blood, evil throat slashers, child murderers, in brief, your entire Palestinian hall of fame? There is only one place in Israel, which bears the name of Baruch Goldstein - it is this scum's grave. Making the equation that you made once again shows how low a Muslim is willing to go to justify his ingrained hatred and lack of any moral.
36. #28 there is a big difference
Maurice ,   Montreal   (04.26.13)
Any terrorism act perpetrated by Jews in the past were done against military and political targets. "Palestinian" terrorism is cowardly and always against civilians, children, and women. You have a lot to be proud of!
37. I see only Jewish faces.
Anna ,   Montreal, Canada   (04.26.13)
Does it matter where did you come from? If you deserve honor for your achievements you'll be honored. Deri could ask "How come there is no Sephardi Nobel Laureates among Israelis." Why is Deri allowed in politics anyway? Can we imaging him to become a finance minister one day?

There is a world of difference between a freedom fighter targeting the British rule in Palestine and someone blowing up a bus full of innocent civilians. The latter is a terrorist, not a freedom fighter. Are we any better? Yes, we are. The facts speak for themselves.

If you were that much smarter, you would know that the proper way to begin your sentence is "Because we" and not "Becuase us" -- by the way, my husband knew that, and he's an Israeli-born Sephardic Jew. So much for YOUR "superior intellect."

Abdel Shalom, I wonder, are you israeli? I understood you live in Jerusalem, are you happy there? Would you prefer to live under the PA or israeli authority? Just because I don't understand you completely.

Well,# 17 told it as is.As a fact you can't name one Mizrachi poet and only claim racism. I'm Ashkenazi and have hundreds of the family members live in Israel. 80% of the young members married to Mizrachim so I have no idea where the racism fits in. p.s. If you look at the old Israeli paper money, there is Mizrachim on the face.:-)

Azquenazi Country? - Yeah Rigth!! - Azquenazi Country my a#$ !! Your posts #17, #26, #27 & #37, are all disgusting, and there is a word that applies to you all: RACISM. As a grandson of Mizrahi Jews from Damascus, Syria, I can tell you all that I have a lot, yes, A LOT of relatives of mine that were in Palestine in 1948, at the time of the Declaration of the State of Israel, and ALL of THEM were working hard to support the development of the new Jewish State, up to today. As a matter of fact, also several of them were working in the Government, and fought in the Hagana too. May be you (# 17, 26, 27 & 37) are upset with us, Sephardim & Mizrahim, because our skin has a little brownish color, as was the skin of the old Hebrew People, and we speak the Hebrew Language better than de European Jews. Please Ynet, DO NOT CENSURE my post and put it in the talkbacks. Shabat Shalom to you all

We should come up with another series of banknotes. Begining with 1 shekel banknotes. On them should be: 1=Hertzl , 5=AhadAm , 10=Kook , 20=Jabotinsky , 50=Ben-Gurion , 100=Begin. This represents roughly all political sectors as it alternates between left and right, secular and religious (for the most part). And it is chronological.
45. # 1. What's wrong with showing poets on a banknote?
marc ,   belgium   (04.27.13)
What is useful for Israƫl to displaying conquerors on an important piece of paper which also goes by non-Jewish hands?

jerome ,   AKL   (04.27.13)
He landed illegally and fought the British before 1948. Although his picture appears in the Toldot Eretz Israel, he was given the favour of managing the local Haifa branch of Amidar, while the pale whites distributed the cake among their peers. Get real and admit that your pre holocaust racist attitude has not changed; neither after the holocaust- nor after the creation of the State of Israel.

Absolutely nothing. Then again, what is wrong with showing TRUE heroes of Israel on a banknote? You know, the ones who paid for their devotion with their lives?

Watch your mouth. I am Ashkenazi. I am Jewish. The Nazis must have thought so, because most of my family is dead and my parents were concentration camp survivors. You should be ashamed of yourself. Tell me -- are you a real human being, or just a duck?

If there was a prize for verbosity you would certainly excel and command a stable position in the top ten. If there was a prize for verbosity coupled with effluence you would no doubt be numero uno. However if there was a prize for etiquette I doubt if you would even make the first one hundred. On the other hand, had there been a Nobel listing for rudeness you would have been nominated time and time again. Having said all that, I do concur with most of your positions, even your forthrightness is to be commended, just a bit too coarse for my liking, but then you probably couldn't give a damn.

Deri asked a question, "why no Mizrahim on banknotes". Answer, There is at the moment, in the context of poets, no one worthy of the honor, maybe in the future there will be. It really is very simple and has nothing to do with bias. Deri is making a mountain out of a mole hill. In my post # 24 I was trying to get a point over by using sarcasm, that is legitimate.
60. 59 Sagi,sorry,i misunderstood you.
