Bartender ,   Tel Aviv   (04.28.13)
Its a great idea but the passing threshold must not be just the highest percentage being the winner. If any settlement or arrangement be reached with the Arabs, it will have repercussion for future generations so it must be aupported by a large margin rather than just random highest percentage.
2. Why doesn't Bennent go home
Merdock, Charles ,   San Antonio, Texas   (04.28.13)
By way of the U.S.,,,,,,,,,,,, to Eastern Europe.
3. referandum is an absolute must
Cipora Julianna Kohn ,   Z   (04.28.13)
any future agreements with the arab palestinians must be subject to a referendum. at least two thirds of the total population of Israeli citizens should approve.
4. you can't make peace with those who don't want peace
Scott ,   Ramat Gan, Israel   (04.28.13)
The PLO wants to destroy Israel. A PA state would become another Gaza & Hamas would takeover. Once Hamas is ousted, a state in Gaza is possible with autonomy in Judea & Samaria.
5. @Merdock... Bennet is HOME!!
(04.28.13)
6. #3: Two thrids YES but on BOTH sides!
David ,   Israel   (04.28.13)
There is no point in making peace with "Palestine" if the majority of Palestinians do not accept it and continue killing Israelis! Joint referendums MUST be held. Further, there should be no peace talks until Palestinian elections are held so an elected leadership there can negotiate.
7. Referendum is great
(04.28.13)
but the access to it must be forbidden to non Jews. Only Jews should vote for referendums about peace process with Arabs
8. Little Risk
Mark ben Josef ,   USA   (04.28.13)
Abbas doesn't take Netanyahu seriously as somebody to negotiate with. So talking about ratification is putting the cart before the horse. The statehood Netanyahu outlined doesn't seem to have any appeal to Palestinians since it just ratifies the status quo for them. There currently appears to be little risk of negotiations, let alone any agreement to be ratified.
9. "peace deal"
Peter ,   Toronto, Canada   (04.28.13)
Jews are the smartest people in the world...when will they learn that the so called "peace deal" will be nothing more than a "trick" ...Israel, stop being such a fool, and start voting in people who put Israel "First"!!!
10. Referendum must be identical for both sides
Eric ,   Tel Aviv & NY   (04.28.13)
A referendum is a great idea. It must be required of both sides with identical phrasing in Hebrew and Arabic calling for end of conflict. Anything less will not be worth the sand it was written in.
11. No deals with "Palestinian" poseurs. Period.
Chaim ,   Israel   (04.28.13)
There must be no deals with "Palestinian" poseurs under any circumstances. Such deals can only take away even more of our sole tiny Homeland. Jordan already occupies almost 80% of our land. Every patriotic Israeli must demand the complete end to negotiations with evil "Palestinian" poseurs.
12. Go home too Murdoch
Andrew ,   Montreal Canada   (04.28.13)
I am guessing your from Scotland or Ireland not Texas after all it belonged to Mexico before that...it's time to go home Murdoch
13. Why is nobody mentioning
Ralph Haglund ,   Sweden   (04.28.13)
the necessary first step: to have Abbas & gang scrap his Constitution, especially: Article (12) Complete liberation of Palestine, and eradication of Zionist economic, political, military and cultural existence. Article (19) Armed struggle is a strategy and not a tactic, and the Palestinian Arab People's armed revolution is a decisive factor in the liberation fight and in uprooting the Zionist existence, and this struggle will not cease unless the Zionist state is demolished and Palestine is completely liberated. Arafat had lots of trouble from many directions trying to avoid doing similar changes in the PLO Charter, but Abbas is not attacked at all.
14. Referendum in PA is an absolute must
Tracy   (04.28.13)
What is really necessary is to ask the PA Arabs themselves. There is no point in making an agreement with Abbas, who is here now and gone tomorrow. Furthermore, PA leaders have signed the Oslo agreement and they have violated every one of its points - with impunity. ~~~~~ Please remember how, as soon as Mubarak was deposed, Egyptians were demanding the abrogation of the treaty with Israel. The only reason why they are less vocal in their demands now is that both the government and the public have more urgent priorities. As soon as things are settled, they will again demand changes to the treaty or its complete abrogation. - While they continue to arm themselves for the next war. So much for the Peace Treaty. But Israel can't get Sinai back.
15. Peace is an absolute MUST, do referendum on circumcision.
Michael ,   California, USA   (04.28.13)
16. 67% opposed partition in 1947
Steve Benassi ,   Silver Bay, MN USA   (04.28.13)
"The Arabs argued that it violated the rights of the majority of the people in Palestine, which at the time was 67% non-Jewish (1,237,000) and 33% Jewish (608,000)."
17. No "treaty" will be signed. UNSC, ICC, EU, Obama will decide
Steve Benassi ,   Silver Bay, MN USA   (04.28.13)
18. #16 #17
(04.28.13)
You never fail to make me laugh. Don't you have anything to do all day other than make smart-a comments that make no sense? Too bad your arab buddies aren't so smart because they would have had a state of their own if they weren't so greedy. UNSC, EU, Obama... rofl.
19. Peace can come only through total Israeli victory.
Chaim ,   Israel   (04.28.13)
The WW II Allies had excellent reasons for not engaging in a "peace process" with Hitler. They were smart enough to know that Hitler had to be totally defeated. The same is true of Israel. The only true path to peace is total Israeli victory over malevolent "Palestinian" poseurs with no concessions whatsoever. They must go.
20. #17. We'll soon have over a million Jews in Judea/Samaria.
Chaim ,   Israel   (04.28.13)
There will be no treaty. Israel has no need of a treaty with "Palestinian" poseurs. Within 5 years, we will have more than a million Jews in Judea and Samaria. Within 20 years, more than 2 million. No one will even waste their breath talking about Fictional Palestine.
21. 15, 19, 20 Yehudim
Alon ,   Tel Aviv Secular   (04.29.13)
Within the next 20-30 years there will be around 9-10 million Yehudim/Judeans in the Land of Judea/Israel. We wont be religious or secular or sephardic or ashkenaz. We will go back to our healthy normal solod confident IDENTITY Yehudi. We will inspire other REAL identities and ethnicities who have lost land to Arab-Islamic occupation of 7-8centuries like Kurds Assyrians Arameans ( they actually do exist like us kept and persevered their identities ).
