I am jewish and have lived in Israel for 7 years. My boyfriend is not Jewish but was born and raised in Israel. The fact that he is Israeli and we can NOT get married here breaks my heart. It is now time we get civil marriage here in Israel. Of course if people want to have a traditional Jewish wedding that's great, but for people in a similar situation to me, there HAS to be another way than going to Cyprus or another country to get married.

Rabbis want power, they do everything they want. Lack of reality. If more people (in Israel) go for progressive Judaism like Reform or Massorti, things will change there. Of course, separate religion from State is a must. Law of return is cosmetic. People come on alyah but a lot of them leave Israel because can not find suitable jobs, homes, etc. Its fantasy, it's illusion. So, your future will be Israel for born Israelis only.
