All of Syria and most of Lebanon will go up in a mushroom cloud. Does the U.S. administration actually think that al Qaeda has forgotten all about Osama bin Laden? They haven't. Any Syrian WMD stocks that fall into the hands of the rebels -- among whom al Qaeda is an increasingly dominant influence -- will be used against the United States. Al Qaeda is not afraid of the United States. They've had a front-row seat to American ineptitude throughout the Arab and Islamic world. They are quite afraid of Israel .... and for good reason.
