1. Totally agree with PRESIDENT Fayyad!
Ramzi Jaber ,   Palestine   (05.03.13)
PRESIDENT Fayyad can then put in place a strategy to create a 1S1P1V - one state, one person, one vote. The only way to make it all work in a democratic and free way. Dr. Fayyad, please run for President. You will prevail. Palestinians across the world will then be the real winners. Thank you.
2. A rare Palestinian realist
shmulke ,   w coast USA   (05.03.13)
willing to negotiate facts on the ground, and admitting that all the violence hasn't gotten the Arabs of the W Bank and Gaza anything they want. In other words, he'll probably soon be voted out or assassinated by his fellow Arabs.
3. "4.4 million"? - 850 thousand left voluntarily
Michael Redbourn ,   Arad   (05.03.13)
Israel is talking facts and displaced Arabs are talking fantasy!

dani   (05.03.13)
you would love that. one state, take all the infrastructure and progress made by israel in the past 65 years, chase all the jews out, and then... i think probably you will end up killing each other just like the rest of the arab world. if israel could survive and thrive in a 10 mile strip along the mediterranean sea, a desert and 40 mile square patch of rock that is the galilee, the palestinians can survive in their little patch too. for fayyad -- the jews made do with a state of leftovers. you should take a page out of their book.
5. Partition a Jewish crime in 1947, and still a crime in 2013
Steve Benassi ,   Silver Bay, MN USA   (05.03.13)
6. Pragmatic person. Good thing the majority are sheep guided
hipocrates ,   earth   (05.03.13)
by loons who ride in luxury while their people become ever more hateful. Nice recipe arafat instilled.
7. Fayad, this is smart:
Yossef   (05.03.13)
"Yes, it is true we have a contract with God Almighty who gave us the land, but there happen to be 4.4 million other people on this land who want to exercise their right to self-determination, so perhaps we can adjust the divine contract a little.”
8. #7 - there wasn't 4.4 million "others" in 1948
William ,   Israel   (05.04.13)
but they were offered to join Jews in the nascent State and most refused. Now that they chose violence, they can deal with the consequences, but Israel already made the offer and its off the table. Perhaps the Arabs' "divine contract" to kill Jews where ever they see them and steal their wealth can be adjusted a little bit so both populations can co-exist in peace in side-by-side States, huh? Or, they can continue to live the way they are, shaking their fists at Jews. Whatever.
9. #5 little stevie Blame The brits
(05.04.13)
And the heshimites, They have been occupying your arab/bedouin aka paliwhatever! Not The Hebrew Jewish People With A 4000 year history, Numbnuts!
10. #3
Eugene ,   Israel   (05.04.13)
He's talking about West Bank and Gaza populations which is around the number he stated. Not that the "850k of Palestinians left voluntarily" is a myth that was disproved a while ago by every serious historian.
11. Fayyad
Get Real ,   UK   (05.03.13)
refers to Palestinian unity as requisite for a Palestinian state whilst Hamas has even today rejected the peace initiative and says 'Palestine can not be traded'. So it looks as though it's still the shack and not the skyscraper.
12. At least one man is honest enough to call a spade a spade
Marwan Khoury مروان ,   Montreal, QC   (05.04.13)
Palestinians are victims of their own addiction to blaming others without taking any responsibility. They still won't recognize a two-state solution and reject Israel. They never miss an opportunity to miss an opportunity.
13. since the time of arafat it is obvious
Barney ,   USA   (05.04.13)
that peace was never the goal. he walked on a great deal. should the arabs in Israel have to wait for hamas to renounce violence rest assured neither will an arab country within Israel. the leaders of palis have only been interested in one thing. lining their pockets by perpetuating hate and misery
14. Fayyad is right...Palestine is a history of
Edithann ,   USA   (05.04.13)
failed leadership....But that should be changing soon... However, with all the money Israel has received over the past '70 years, Israeli leadership hasn't shown the world much in creating peace amongst themeslves, their neighbors and especially the Palestinans who have been their victims for the past '70 years.. It's either ONE STATE or another Diaspora for Israeli's! TATA
15. #5: Still whining after all these years.
shrinkDave ,   miami usa   (05.04.13)
16. move to the other side of the jordan
Real vision ,   usa   (05.04.13)
Since palestinians make up 70% of jordan let the palestinians settle there and try to build a country instead of destroying anything they touch
17. 2 things are extremely telling...
Amichai ,   Huntsville, US   (05.04.13)
This guy is quite pragmatic. 1) He admits that Palestinian leadership has been flawed & has enslaved the people & missed many opportunities with irresponsible rhetoric. 2) Admitting that the Jews have a contract with G-d, giving them the land. - I predict an assassination attempt on him for making sense and deviating from the Palestinian narrative.
18. #1 - not with us, you won't
William ,   Israel   (05.04.13)
After 90 years of racist terrorism and continued rejection of Jewish culture, historical ties, and nation-Statehood, you're welcome to have your 1 person, 1 vote with Jordan, which originally was your part of the Mandate but you got greedy and violent. We have no reasons to join with you, we have no desire to join with you. Arabs in Israel are equal citizens because they made that choice at a critical time in history. You chose racist war crimes and genocide at your option and lost big time. Now because you have decades of failed leadership and nothing to show for it, you want to join Israel to gain from the benefits our citizens have worked to create for years. I see the welfare mentality is deeply ingrained in your society, and THAT is the factor that limits your lives. Go be successful and independent, for your own good.
19. "Palestinian story is one of failed leadership"
William ,   Israel   (05.04.13)
yeah, for 93 years now. Had it not all started with Al-Husseini, the face of the Middle East would look very different today, and the "Palestinians" would have a very different life.
20. #5 - You're right, but its not a Jewish Crime
William ,   Israel   (05.04.13)
It's a UN crime, to appease Arabs. The 1947 Partition was a violation of the UN Charter which forbids the reversal of any pre-UN decisions and votes. The only legal standing decision today is the 1922 League of Nations vote providing all land West of the Jordan for a Jewish Homeland. The 1947 Partition was a crime then, and its a crime now.... just like the Arab occupation of Judea/Samaria which began with ethnic cleansing in 1949, and this war crime has still not been addressed to date.
21. #3 don't prop up an old myth
max ,   indianapolis   (05.04.13)
Are you referring that all those people left voluntarily? Its an old myth meant to whitewash Israel's displacement of native Arabs. Refer to the below un-archived 1948 IDF report that dispels this old myth, you'll find out the majority of them were displaced from IDF and Jewish hostilities. "The Emigration of the Arabs of Palestine in the Period 1/12/1947 – 1/6/1948"
22. Fayyad
Lochem51 ,   burlington USA   (05.04.13)
CIA world fact book says population of WB at 2,676,740 (July 2013 est.) 325,500 as of 2011 are Jews

24. SO - pay the prize !
Arn. ,   Sweden.   (05.04.13)
Fayyad: Palestinian story is one of failed leadership Palestinian PM criticizes past, present Palestinian leaders, laments historical decisions; 'We don’t strategize, we cut deals in a tactical way and we hold ourselves hostage to our own rhetoric,' says Fayyad Comment - That is -You have no right to a state of your own According to him, Netanyahu should tell Israelis that "Yes, it is true we have a contract with God Almighty who gave us the land, but there happen to be 4.4 million other people on this land who want to exercise their right to self-determination, so perhaps we can adjust the divine contract a little.” Comment - You cant prevail against God. Arn.Sweden.
25. But who are the "Palestinians"
Geepee ,   Tel Aviv   (05.04.13)
Fine, so this is supposed to be a "realist". The problem is that there is no leadership because the "Palestinians" are not one people but several. No one leader is accepted by all. When we talk of peace with the Palestinians, the realists know that even if one sector came to an agreement, there would be several others who won't. West Bankers have nothing in common with Gazans who have nothing in common with those on the Syrian borders. That's what makes the whole situation so eternally problematic and it certainly doesn't offer a solution to the problems of the common folk from all sides.
26. No be a palestinian state until "right of retun" is dropped
Scott ,   Ramat Gan, Israel   (05.04.13)
The "right of return" is a term the arabs stole from the Jews. The 4.4 million he is referring to includes many of these so-called refugees - the majority of whom have never seen "palestine" or Israel. The problem is the demand is for them to return to Israel, not just a palestinian state. This would mean a demographic takeover of Israel. No Israeli leader would agree to this suicide & the US & EU have pressured Abbas to drop this absurd demand. The other main problem is hamas. We've seen what they've done in Gaza. As long as the PA is determined to include them, there can be no agreement until they renounce violence & recognize Israel. Israel will not accept missile attacks on Tel Aviv, Jerusalem & the rest of the country.
27. Wow Sherlock, did you figure that out all by yourself?
Charles   (05.04.13)
28. So what? Who says the Palestinians have
Edithann ,   USA   (05.04.13)
to be like anyone...They are their own disfunctionals...That doesn't mean they're not a 'people' whose lands have been taken from them by force..And it dosn't mean they don't have the right to defend themselves, their homes and their lands by any and all means they have available.. To cut off a man's legs and then blame him for not walking is Israels/Jewish way of telling the world it's his own fault ... TATA... TATA
29. Yes you pals failed. Not because of your leadership. Its
Moshe ,   Usa   (05.04.13)
because you are a morally & ethically corrupt people who advocate a death cult "religion".
30. Israel must cease calling Muslims as Palestinians.
BUTSeriously ,   Sydney   (05.04.13)
It is a genocidal premise, regardless of any Muslims living in Palestine - it doesn't need rocket science to see its intentions of negating Israel from her motherland. That Europe gleefully fosters this heinous premise exposes their true colors: their ancestors dumped this name on Judea, not any Islamic land.
