31. it all depends on Lapid+Bennett
Philippe ,   Raanana   (05.08.13)
It all depends on Lapid + Bennett to takeover the Likud, to sort out the true patriots from the peace beggars. The Likud took a beating in the last elections, now it's time to rejuvenate it.Better a smaller Likud but a true zionist-patriot party than the actual middle-of-nothing gelatina.Bibi is king of gelatina, bring him down.

There never was or will be a palestine.obama is about to drown in his own disaster Benghazi-gate.
34. #23Chaim, do you believe in Santa Clause too?
On the Balcony ,   Akko/NY/Kyiv   (05.09.13)
I will continue to post facts about the illegality of the settlements for as long as you and your misguided cohort post falsehoods --or until Israel negotiates its borders with Palestine. While a majority of the UN GA can be counted on to support anti-Israel motions, this is not true of the Security Council where the U.S. often has used its veto power to protect Israel --but not when it comes to the settlements. The U.S. voted in support of UN Security Council Resolutions 446 and 465 condemning the settlements as flagrant violations of international law. The EU, whose members have been among Israel’s strongest supporters, similarly condemn the settlements, as do the High Contracting Parties of the Geneva Convention, the ICRC, the International Court of Justice and every Nation in the world except Israel. You often cite the opinions of a few lawyers whose arguments have long been rejected by the international legal community. Only “true believers” like yourself agree with them -- even the Israel Government has had the good sense to quietly shelf the Levy Report which was based on those same discredited arguments. Why do you refuse to face the facts Chaim?
35. Two state solution
Dave Nirens ,   Sydney, Australia   (05.09.13)
Elyakim Haetzni may very well talk about democracy, butdisregardx 57 % of The Israeli population who still favour a two state solution. Yair Lapid and Tzipi are only in the government on the undestanding of a 2 state solution as part of any peace agreement, and without them the government would fall
36. to #3
Real vision ,   usa   (05.09.13)
You forget one thing. Abbas has no power with the palestinians. He is just a man in a suit...with the same agenda as all the other failed arab leaders who have led the palestinian arabs to the cesspool. Nothing he says to palestinian arabs is for peace with jews nor Israel and some ho his suit has convinced certain western world leaders that he means peace with israel. Arab and muslim words of peace with israel mean nothing and they will change them like the wind or with a cartoon. It is time the world wakes up to this nonsense and start demanding the palestinian arabs to disarm and refute violence and hatred toward israel and the jews. Until then there is no possibility of the palestinians seeing the future without chaos
37. What are these land swaps?
Mark ,   London, UK   (05.09.13)
Are we talking about land for development and/or defensible borders for both sides? Are we talking about Arab towns and cities currently in Israel with a predominantly Arab population? Are we talking of tagging onto Gaza bits of desert along the Egyptian border transferred?
38. #35. Israeli public rejects Two State Final Solution.
Chaim ,   Israel   (05.09.13)
Recent polls show almost 80% of Israeli Jews reject the abominable Two State Final Solution. It is simply not sane for an Israeli Jew to support a clearly self destructive initiative which would give Israel's heartland to her genocidal foes and trim her waist to 9 miles. This is not something any sane, rational Israeli would support. This also explains the constant decline in support for the infallibly wrong left.
39. #34. You post politically motivated rubbish. Not facts.
Chaim ,   Israel   (05.09.13)
Israel's legal ownership of Judea and Samara is legally incontrovertible fact. It has been verified by many of the world's leading international law experts. Even the terrorist P.A. knows that and that is why the refuse to debate the issue, as MK Danny Ayalon challenged them to. You do not post facts. You post politically motivated rubbish intended to shrink Israel's waist to 9 miles.
40. # 34 You can continue all you like
BUILD BABY BUILD !!! ,   United States   (05.09.13)
however, Israel will not take orders from obama or pal trash. Israel is and shall be building homes for more Jews. Relax and enjoy it.. The pals will not be in Israel within 20 years. relax and enjoy it the pals are some of the exempt Syrian, Arab Spring dead.. for now.
41. # 34 Off your rocker
BUILD BABY BUILD !!! ,   United States   (05.09.13)
You are entitled to your opinion however, you aren't entitled to make up lies as you go along. Don't ignore the obvious, Israel OWNS THE LAND. In less than 20 years, there will not be one pal left in Israel.
42. #39 UNSCR 446 and 465 etc are facts --
On the Balcony ,   Akko/NY/Kyiv   (05.10.13)
anyone can look them up along with the fact that the legal experts of the U.S., EU, ICJ, SC, SG, ICRC etc. ALL consider the settlements illegal. Where is YOUR “incontrovertible” proof? The Levy Report? It has no standing in international law--even the government of Israel has not accepted it. C’mon Chaim… give us some facts that we can verify –but forget Rostow, Stone et al. International law is not based upon the mere opinions of individual lawyers, especially those whose polemical arguments have already been rejected. International law is the product of agreements between nations. Can you name one nation other than Israel whose State or Justice department supports the legality of the settlements in the occupied territories? C'mon, Chaim, name one…. just one. You can’t –because the nations of the world, and the institutions and organizations they have created to represent them UNANIMOUSLY agree that Israel's settlements are illegal. How can anyone intelligently argue that the community which creates, interprets and applies international law is legally wrong? You can’t. All you do Chaim is mechanically recite a mantra of falsehoods, call people names and pretend that real facts don’t exist. A person in such a position doesn’t need legal expertise– he needs a psychiatrist.
43. #41 Possession is not ownership
On the Balcony ,   Akko/NY/Kyiv   (05.10.13)
Israel effectively possesses most of the occupied territories. It acquired and maintains that possession at the point of a gun. Possession is not the same as ownership. Ownership is a legal concept - it is based upon the relevant community’s recognition of a right under law to possession. The international community is the elevant community and it does not recognize Israel's right to possess the territories. Rather, it views Israel’s settlement policy as an attempt to define its boundaries by force in violation of international law. Israel therefore merely possesses the land; it does not own it. The U.S., EU, GA, SG, SC, ICRC and ICJ all agree with this statement. Accusing me, and by extension, the U.S., EU, GA, SC, ICRC, ICJ, etc. of being liars does not change the truth: the settlements are illegal under international law. What objective evidence can you offer to the contrary?
44. #42. You simply parrot contemptible U.N. lies.
Chaim ,   Israel   (05.10.13)
As everyone knows, U.N. decisions have nothing to do with law. They are entirely politically motivated. They are anything but "facts". Just like their infamous "Zionism is Racism" was anything but factual. Countless international law experts have incontrovertibly proven Israel owns Judea and Samaria. To call Eugene Rostow et al "discredited" is ludicrous. Like all your arguments. Even the terrorist P.A. knows Israel owns Judea and Samaria. That is why they refuse to debate the issue, as MK Danny Ayalon challenged them to. You do nothing but parrot contemptible Anti-Israel U.N. lies. Your posts are a disgrace.
45. #43. Judea and Samaria were liberated by Israel.
Chaim ,   Israel   (05.10.13)
#43. Once again, you pretend you have proven something. Really, all you do is endlessly parrot U.N. lies. Not only do you have no evidence to back up our ridiculous words. Your stance is so ridiculous, even the P.A. won't publicly debate the issue. Deep inside, even the P.A. knows Judea and Samaria belong to Israel. The obvious truth is that Judea and Samaria belong to Israel 100%. There is no Israeli "occupation". There was a magnificent Israeli liberation of our lands. This is our land now and forever.

47. Sue Labor for criminal negligence over Oslo.
Chaim ,   Israel   (05.10.13)
"The buds of peace are blossoming again, and, as always, they are being irrigated with Jewish blood. Eviatar Borovsky joined more than 1,500 "victims of peace" since Oslo – a huge political experiment with humans as lab animals" Isn't it time those responsible for this criminally negligent experiment were made to pay the price? Don't the tens of thousands of Oslo victims deserve compensation from Labor for their incalculable losses? Labor must be hold liable for the Oslo Catastrophe and it's countless thousands of victims. .
48. #45 Truth is a frustrating inconvenience
On the Balcony ,   Akko/NY/Kyiv   (05.10.13)
for people who live in a fantasy world as you do. The distinction made in #43 between possession and legal ownership is basic law and has nothing to do with the U.N. In passing, Palestine no more needs to debate its right to exist than Israel needs to debate its right to exist. Factual statements in my comments can be independently verified by anyone who wants to take a few minutes to do so. The same cannot be said for your childish ranting and name calling. The only "obvious truth" is that you know absolutely nothing about international law and even less about logic, rationality and reality.
49. #44 Not even Israel supports your delusions
On the Balcony ,   Akko/NY/Kyiv   (05.10.13)
Forget the U.N. Explain why: The official U.S. position is that the settlements are illegal; The 27 countries of the European Union hold that the settlements are illegal; The High Contracting Parties to the Geneva Convention hold that the settlements are illegal; Thomas Meron, the first lawyer to analyze the issue on behalf of the Israeli government concluded in 1967 that civilian settlement of the occupied territories would be illegal - an opinion he publicly reaffirmed as an International Criminal Court Judge forty years later; Thomas Buergenthal, Auschwitz survivor, law professor and the only ICJ Judge to dissent from the security barrier advisory ruling concurred in the court’s unanimous opinion that the settlements are illegal; No other nation agrees with Israel’s argument that settlements are legal under international law; The State of Israel has not accepted the Levy Report much less claimed that the “disputed territories” are “incontrovertibly” a part of Israel under international law. You can easily verify the above. Are they all parroting lies? Or are you? I appreciate your apparent youth and lack of education but your comments’ maniacal fanaticism indicate that you need competent help. We do not need another Baruch Goldstein.

51. 2-State Plan based on a pack of lies and delusions
G Marcus ,   Herzlia, Israel   (05.13.13)
- That Israel's conflict is only with the Arabs of West Bank/Gaza instead of Arab/Islamic Imperialism in general; - That the conflict is "territorial", i.e., relates to only part of the lands under Israel, instead of being "existential", i.e., relating to ALL lands that constitute Israel; - That there existed a national group such as "Palestinians" deserving a sovereign state, while in actual fact by self-admission there existed only Arabs of a "Greater South Syrian" ethnic identity, that already had a state in Jordan. In fact if these Arabs were ever to get a state, Fatah would aspire to join a pan-Arab empire, while Hamas would strive to become part of a pan-Islamic Caliphate. - That the PLO gave up their Jihad for the "right of return" of 1948 Arab refugees, or that in Arab/Muslim eyes it even had the right or authority to do so; - That the PLO would recognize Israel as the Jewish nation-state, while in reality it can only recognize Israel as a state that will transform itself into the 3rd Palestinian-Arab state (besides Jordan and "Palestine") by way of a return of Arab refugees to Israel proper. If Arabs had aimed at true peace with Israel, they would not have invented a non-existent "Palestinian" nation -- or rather, anti-nation -- that aspires either to replace the Jewish nation-state or render it indefensible. They would have instead achieved a 3-State Solution long ago with Israel, Egypt and Jordan, the latter being the already-existing Palestinian-Arab state. The 2-State Plan doesn't make sense only if you think its aim is Peace; it makes a lot of sense as the necessary next step for the 1974 PLO Staged Plan to dismantle Israel.
