Settlement construction is nothing more than a red herring. It means nothing. It is an objection the Palestinians and anti Israel countries continue to throw up as a roadblock to peace talks. Stopping building will never lead to peace.

Yes. No permits for new building, no settlement funding ... Bibi is clearly preparing for peace negotiations --but why can't be admit it? Perhaps because he wants the budget passed before creating a unity governent w/labour and w/o Bennet and part of Likud? In any casem the Israeli people deserve more respect and openess than this. p.s. #2 Patriotic Israelis are tired of building settlements that cost too much in every sense of the word and will have to be abandoned anyway.

I am not anti the settlements and I support the people of Ariel, East Jerusalem and the rest of liberated Israel but surely you can't be that self centered that the country must give everything to the West Bank? Remember Chaim, Israel CAN survive without the West Bank BUT the West Bank CANNOT survive without Israel! Maybe the Settlers should give jobs to Israeli builders and other tradesmen instead of hiring the Palestinian terrorists to build their villas!

There was NO building during a period of 10 months , why didn't the "palestinians" come to discuss then ? Why didn't they build a "state" during the Jordanian occupation of Judea Samaria and Yeroushalaim ? What will be their next conditions to resume talks ?

And FYI, I lived in Samaria in a 80m2 rowhouse, you must live in a shoebox if you would consider that a villa.
