1. I wonder if these "World leaders" have a real conversation,
tom ,   tel aviv   (05.09.13)
EVER!?
2. Surely
Sarah B ,   Tel Aviv/London   (05.09.13)
Rather than phone Obama to whinge about an arms deal between Russia and Syria, Netanyahu should be sending his foreign minister Lieberman to Moscow. Afterall he speaks the language and his original appointment was sold to the people of Israel, because we need to have closer ties with Russia. So I presume that policy has failed then?
3. Russia is disgusting !
Joe   (05.09.13)
Supporting Iran, Iraq, Syria. All for money. These guys have been selling their own people generation after generation. Should not even be allowed to deal with arms! All for money, eh ?
4. Because Russia will certainly listen
Warp Coathanger ,   USA   (05.09.13)
Yes, I'm sure as Sarah be of wherever says, Lieberman going to Moscow will definitely not be a total waste of time and guaranteed Pudding, pardon, I mean Putin will listen to Israel over Syria. If this isn't a total waste of time, nothing else is. Russia is anti-Israel, pro-Syria & pro-Iran. Whatever the game, should the s-300's or s-400's be given into the hands of these criminals from a criminal country like Russia, Israel will smash them every time. Stay tuned to a computer near you and see if this ultimately will not be correct!
5. Well....
Cameron ,   USA   (05.09.13)
Installing new air-missile systems? For a regime caught in a raging civil war with it's back against the wall, it would seem to be a rather secondary concern. Avoiding internal overthrow is their all-encompassing priority. Israelis are jumping into Syria, not us......a matter for them to sweat.
6. #2 Do some research before you post nonsense
A ,   Belgium   (05.09.13)
Lieberman resigned before the last elections, Bibi is presently holding the Foreign Minister portfolio. And I don't think he speaks Russian.
7. #5 Cameron
Sarah B ,   Tel Aviv/London   (05.09.13)
Fact is as of now the Rebellion are being fought to a standstill and in some places are in retreat. It is by no means certain that Assad will lose, although his legitimacy if he wins would mean zero in the west, close ties with Russia and Iran will of course negate this Israel has nothing to offer Russia, Tartus is Russia.s deep-water port in the Mediterranean, having spent billlions of roubles, Russia will not give it up lightly, and America will not allow Israel to let Russia use Haifa
8. #6 A of Belguim
Sarah B ,   Tel Aviv/London   (05.09.13)
As I understand it Netanyahu is holding the post open until Lieberman is cleared of corruption charges. But Lieberman has been foreign minister for 5 years you would have thought that he would have left some form of legacy in Russian/Israeli relations which allowed channels to have remained open. As this story underlines Netanyahu as Prime Minister is all about short term political gains to boost his personal popularity and absolutely nothing to do with the long term future and viability of Israel. Meanwhile I wonder how his holiday with the ife and Kids in China is going
9. I hope you realize that we are pawns in this game
Mo ,   UK   (05.09.13)
I wish every Arab and Israeli understand that we are Pawns in here. being played with and fighting others wars in here. Christians, Jewish and Muslims. need find way for peace. as through the history, it was Christian Against Jews, now Christians with Jews against Muslims. the cycle will keep going, sometimes you are in favor, sometimes you are not. Jewish people of all, should understand what is it like to be oppressed, you had rough times in history, and for that reason alone, you shouldn't subject people to that. Arabs are leaderless, and if you claim you are a civilized country then you should be better, otherwise you are exactly the same. We both worship Ibrahim God, and both Ibrahim children, so we would have equal share of the land. Ideally co existing with each other. what are your thoughts friends.
10. For a change.
michael Pielet ,   israel   (05.09.13)
A positive article about Prime Minister's Netanyahu's historical visit to China!
11. Obama and the Islamists
harold ,   tel aviv israel   (05.09.13)
Obama unfortunately has demonstrated weakness in the face of Islamist extremism. He would do well to watch the interview with Rabbi David Bar-Hayim on the Boston bombings.
12. # 9 Mo, Uk
BUILD BABY BUILD !!! ,   United States   (05.09.13)
No we worship different creators. Our G-d of Israel, gave Israel the land, her people, and chose them to possess this land, Israel. It is your responsibility as a Muslim ( assuming you are a Muslim ) to allow the Nation of Israel to live in peace with their laws and her people safe and secure. There never was a palestine or a people or tribe called 'palestinians', the land and the people were, are and shall be always, Israel. Equal share of the land would mean Jews would own fifty percent of what Ishmael's ( Islam ) heirs own, the land, the oil, and all that comes with it, and presently all Muslims at war with one another and the slaughter of how many thousands of Muslims? What have pals done to ever promote peace with Israel? NOTHING!!!! What have Muslims ever done to promote peace? If you want an 'equal share' become a converted Jew and abandon terror. I notice the UK is your home. I see you chose a democracy.
14. # 11 And how about those hearings re: Benghazi?
BUILD BABY BUILD !!! ,   United States   (05.09.13)
Talk of demonstrating weakness...
15. #3 why disgusting?
israel israeli ,   tel aviv   (05.09.13)
Assad is bad, but less bad than Obama/Turkey/Saudi supported Sunni-jihadis. If anything, Russia is supporting the less bad guys. And remember, if Obama hadn't lied to Putin about Libya, a peaceful solution would have been found for Syria. All the evidence is that Obama wanted the jihadis to win in Libya and helped (with the Erdogan and Saudi) the jihadis hijack the Syria civil war.
16. #9 + #13
Mo ,   UK   (05.09.13)
#9, Yes I am indeed Muslim. I agree that we need to promote peace, what have I done to promote peace: for a start I am starting a conversation with you, as for my own country Jordan, we already have peace treaty. and there are no Jordanians going to Israel to cause trouble. as for Terror, you need to be fair. there are "muslim" terrorists. and there are "jewish" terrorist. each nation have the good and bad, that is a given, you however do a very good job of suppressing those, while we are not sadly. we are all human beings, I politely disagree that God will give people preference over others based on their race. but this is religious technicality. keeping fighting will only have losers, no winner will emerge. as people life will be lost. to #13 you are entitled to your opinion. however we are all equals, Muslim, Christian, and Jewish including yourself. if you see any different then I am afraid we disagree. All of us are fighting, you are not excluded. I am a British Muslim, there is no problem in being loyal to UK, and Muslim at the same time. I see British and Jewish people worthy of respect. if you dont want to believe that, then that is your choice.
17. Stupid Russia (again - WWII) - :
Barbara ,   Haifa Israel   (05.09.13)
Russia supporting Iran and Syria when all these nations will do in their endgame is also attack Russia eventually - just like Nazis did in WWII.
18. intresting comments here...lets leave all the rethoric
amused   (05.09.13)
