1. private expense
john ,   toronto   (05.13.13)
All private expenses must be taken from one's salary . Taxpayers are not responsible for this.
2. Private Homes
Rafi ,   Merkaz, Israel   (05.13.13)
Why are we, the taxpayers, paying anything at all for their private homes? While PM, he and his family live in the official residence, so why do we also have to foot the bill anyplace else? Have they no shame?
3. His wife looks like Miss Piggy

5. Netanyahu's household budget
Joe Charlap ,   Jerusalem   (05.13.13)
The Netanyahu's sound like Imelda Marcos and her 1000 pairs of shoes. The latest "parasha" about the bedchamber for a four hour trip to London made me want to throw up. How about Lapid structuring the Prime Ministerial Residence's budget. ( Big joke!)
6. Let's have serious news .. cost of ice cream?!
Michael Redbourn ,   Arad   (05.13.13)
This reprinting of everything and anything that can be found that makes Natanyahu look bad, is petty. There are major things happening in the world! Bibi is PM and he has a lot of expenses and is entitled to perks. There's nonsense here about $2,800 etc. Aviel Magnezi, go get a life or go worship Yachimovitch ..
7. no perks allowed and no waste
Ilana   (05.13.13)
This wasteful lifestyle, while others go hungry is bad enough, but when it is on the backs of working people, who work long hard hours, it is disgusting. Shame on them, for the umpteenth time.
8. grrl $18,000 4 hair & makeup! They r cheating u!

Really, an annual budget of less than $1M? The White House spends more than on gardening alone in six months.

John ,   TLV   (05.13.13)
Let's make a small calculation. For 2800 USD you should get approx. 2800 balls if ice cream. If Bibi would work 365 days a year and would never leave Israel he eats 7.6 balls of ice cream every single day. Nobody eats 7.6 balls of ice cream every day, not even Homer Simpson. Seams more like giving a friend a little bit of the tax payer's money.
12. Bibbi--

should reimburse cost to government for the access part of the trip he took to London--temporary bedroom on flight.

14. Golda, BG turning over in their graves
Avramele   (05.14.13)
Golda did her own cooking and answered her own phone. BG never accumulated any wealth and retired to the Negev...all unlike the piggish Thatcherite Netanyahu.
15. state has matured
Dennis ,   NJ USA   (05.14.13)
Geez... we've come a long way since the PM had a hut in Sde Boker...King Bibi needs to learn a bit of humility, and stop schlepping his wife everywhere...BG left Paula home, ad represented israel quite capably all over the world. Golda? never even knew that she had a husband, he was so far removed...While I believe Bibi is doing a good job abroad representing us, this overindulgence is a ... shonda.
16. SUPER BIBI !
mark ,   t.a. ISRAEL   (05.14.13)
WE ARE IN A REGION OF DICTATORS AND KINGS ! ACCORDINGLY BIBI THINKS HE MUST IMITATE THEIR LIFESTYLE ! WE MISS TERRIBLY BG GOLDA BEGIN REAL KINGS AND QUEENS OF ISRAEL !
17. Why does a smart person like him be so stupid?
American Hindu ,   USA   (05.14.13)
Mr. Nathenayu is a person I like and respect. He is a great Israeli patriot. Why does a smart person like him jeopardize his place in history for such stupid stuff?
18. Cost of supoprting PM residences going up
Roxy ,   Israel   (05.14.13)
Why are the tax payers liable for their 2 private dwellings? That should be his responsibility. Why are we liable for his wife's beauty expenses, I can understand when she gets dressed for state functions that is one thing but on a day to day basis let them pay for it out of their money, they make better money than the average person here so stop robbing the people. But my biggest question is why the heck are the Israeli public still voting him into office every other election haven't they learned yet that each time he wins he does the asme thing and only becomes richer at our expense!
19. #13 - cost of one rocket is at least $50,000
Michael Redbourn ,   Arad   (05.14.13)
The cost of firing just one air to ground rocket is at least $50,000 for the the rocket plus fuel for the plane etc. This article focuses on the trivial, which is my point. The author knows that many people that are struggling will relate to it, but the amount of dollars and the fact that Bibi is PM need to be taken into account. Palestine: Information with Provenance (PIWP database) likes Aviel Magnezi !! And I didn't vote for Bibi; I voted for Lieberman twice. His court case? If guilty, he did far less horrible things than Olmert and is much smarter than Olmert, Guttman, who served in the National Fraud Unit for 21 years said the image of Lieberman portrayed in the press was very different from the man he had encountered in person. "The man is, in my opinion, the fastest-thinking suspect politician the police have had to face. He will come prepared". "Lieberman does not hide behind his right to remain silent. He won't confess, either. He will give full answers and send police abroad looking for evidence," Guttman said. "He does not stutter, and he is not like Olmert, saying he doesn't remember this or that. He has all the facts in his head, and he does not refer to documents when answering questions". And please remember that the huge majority of Israelis wanted Bibi to be PM even if they didn't vote for him.
20. #10. Annual Budget
Rafi ,   Merkaz, Israel   (05.14.13)
But does the US also foot the bill for Obama's private home(s) while he and his family live in the WH? Israeli taxpayers are paying to maintain both of Bibi's!
21. Of course expenses doubled

22. Bibi, Sarah : STOP !!!

23. The beauty budget seems low.
nibor ,   israel   (05.14.13)
Seriously. A prime minister's wife has to have her hair styled all the time. She's not a cleaning woman, and she is meeting with people all the time. Come to think of it, cleaning women in Israel are getting their hair done all the time. I do think the Netanyhous subsidize their budget all the time, from their own pockets. I do not like them at all, but we have to be fair.
24. #15
Suzy ,   Jerusalem   (05.14.13)
Bibi is shlepping his wife everywhere - it's a deal he made with her a long time ago when she threatened him with divorce after learning that he is cheating on her
25. Expenses of PM wife.
Mendoza ,   Tel-Aviv, Israel   (05.14.13)
No wonder they are high, efforts to make a potato look like a peach are extremely expensive and often futile.
26. This guy thinks he's the US president!
A.Q. ,   Jerusalem   (05.14.13)
Leave him live his dream, poor guy
27. look beyond the headlines
zionist forever   (05.14.13)
Having a PM is expensive, they are expected to live a certain standard of living. You go to any developed country and you will find the PM or president has a high standard of living. Firstly expenses vary from PM - PM for a variety of reasons such as cost of living, If you have a PM with a younger family then they are also going to add to the expenses but if you have an older person whose children have flown the roost then you don't have to worry about expenses like that. With clothing Bibi represents the country and so cannot be expected to wear a cheap badly fitting suit etc The PM and his wife who accompanies him on many official events also has a personal stylist. Sarah Netanyahu though doesn't have the stylist put her makeup on every day. Also a fact its somebody else who chooses stylist to hire and negotiates the salary not Bibi so you can't blame him for that. Things like the ice cream, they full facts of that have not been explained, there actually is probably a very good non controversial reason behind all this but very good reasons don't sell news papers but headlines about the cost of ice cream do. The bed on the plane Bibi knows nothing about the cosy, he tells his aids what he wants they sort it but again headlines sell newspapers not fine detail. As for the cost of the running of his private homes there is an argument that unless the private home is being used for an official function related to his being PM the only expense the state should pay should be the cost of security and basic cleaning because the private home still needs to be guarded and kept clean. The majority of these expenses though are probably quite legitimate,
28. 11 has a very interesting point. . .
Stewart ,   USA   (05.14.13)
PM's must do a lot of entertaining as part of the job. Without knowing how much of the costs are for providing for others or cleaning after others, the figures are meaningless. Also, one needs to compare them to other heads of similar states. The money for his other homes is more confusing unless it is allowed because the PM's salary is kept lower. His wife's costs don't make sense. Anyone could look great for a lot less.
29. Character
olavi ,   espoo, finland   (05.14.13)
Either Netanjahu do not know the trend of expanses or he has low level character to lead any organization.
30. Bibi's expenses
Deepak Chandorkar ,   India   (05.14.13)
What are you folks talking about comparing Bibi to Golda Meir & BG. We live in a different age and time. Israel has progressed in leaps & bounds over the last few decades. Isn't Bibi or any other PM of Israel entitled to these perks? After all he is the face of Israel to guests and visitors. He surely can't live shabby and invite people in a shack! Compared to other other PMs of other countries, his expenses are nothing.
