31. Haredim protest
Lauren ,   Israel   (05.17.13)
OK- Let them study torah in jail. Time for this community to do good deeds, not just study them.
32. Our government is responsible!
Jew1 ,   Ashdod   (05.17.13)
Election after election, in chase of chair and power, our leaders sold the future and benefit of this country and people to bunch of terrorists. Now they are grown in numbers and eating this country from within and we are stuck with thousands of terrorist who do not have any proper education, do not work and have pleanty of time in their hands to do terrorist activities. The day is not far when these peoples will start blowing up themselves in middle of other neighbourhoods on the name of religion. Stop their all types of funding immediately. Let them die of hunger (I don't hate them - it's a matter of my own survival), so that they will be forced to work and study and then there is a little hope to get them out of their cult system.... Without hunger they won't work. Stop their bread and see the change in them...
33. #21 Haredim = Medieval rabbinics usurping G-d's laws
kippa seruga ,   Israel   (05.17.13)
34. Parasit
Marcelo ,   Madrid Spain   (05.17.13)
Send all this retarded parasit to Teheran and never came back!!!
35. Where is it
Ralph ,   Caesarea   (05.17.13)
wriiten in the Tora that Jews are allowed to fight against other Jews, to spit on Jewish women and disobey to the law of the country they live ???
36. No Protest!
sam ,   israel   (05.17.13)
Protest do not help anything. You are actually causing a bad name and chillul hashem to those charedim who dont protest. Best is to keep quiet and if you are meant to go to the army that is your mission from G-d. In the torah it states numerous times the mitzvah of joining the army of Israel so i dont know what you are demonstrating about. When we fight with each other our enemies attack us - it says that clearly in the torah. So please go home and let Hashem decide what happens.
37. Don't let the door hit you on the way out
Miracle Dog ,   Israel   (05.17.13)
Feel free to go and be "religious" (note quotes) somewhere else. You don't believe in the Jewish state anyway - what are you doing here?

Madeleine ,   Israel   (05.17.13)
The problem with this is that nowhere does it say that haredim mustn't work or contribute to their own income. Where does it say tht the state has to support them? They can study and work/serve just like any non-haredi . Useless lot of spineless parasites.
39. #33 exactly what #21 is saying
S.J.   (05.17.13)
Haredim, Orthodox Jews observe "medieval" G-d's laws given thousands of years ago at Mount Sinai, while Kipa Seruga, Dati Leumi, observe man-made new laws above G-d's laws.

This is exactly the reason why you haredim are so resented! Your holier-than-thou attitude to the rest of us Israelis who work, serve and generally put ourselves on the line exactly so you - at our expense - can sit in your kollel all day and claim you are saving the country. Gabbling prayers is NOT going to fight Hezbollah, Hamas, or the virulent anti-israel sentiments expressed around the world. The only people it helps are you haredim, who like to think you are doing something for the country. If you don't want to be soldiers in uniform, you can at least give a year of national services, as teachers, medics, or in any of the many voluntary associations in this country which are crying out for help. Until you also learn to give, you shouldn't receive one single penny of government aid. You can wtill learn in the kollel part-time while you are doing national service. As such, you deserve zero from this government - who gets anything it gives you from taxed of us 'ordinary' hard-working citizens.
41. To #11,22,25,32,34 I'm confused
S.J.   (05.17.13)
Are you referring to Arabs who get benefits and funds from the government and don't serve or are you too afraid to admit your racist hypocrisy?
42. It Is The Soldiers Who Dodge
Ariel ben Yochanan ,   Kfar Tapuah, Efraim   (05.17.13)
B"H - It is not the yeshiva boys who dodge army service but the soldiers who doge Torah and Torah study. Get your priorities right! It is Hashem Who could give us peace, not the State or its IDF.
43. Lambs to the Slaughter
Harvey ,   London   (05.17.13)
The only thing that prevents the Arab hordes from overrunning Israel and slitting the throats of each and every citizen is the IDF . Hashem was not there for the Haredi when they were frog marched into the gas chambers and he won't be there to protect them next time . They will shrug their shoulders and say it is Hashems will . Fortunately for them it won't happen as the IDF will be there for them . The problem is not the Haredi . They know no better and in any case are not up to the challenges of army life ,physically or mentally . The problem remains with successive governments who allowed this schism in Israeli society in the first place . It's rendered a sizeable section of society as effectively non productive and a burden to the state . It's no wonder the rest of society are seething at this refusal to stand shoulder to shoulder with their brethren to confront and defeat the common enemy . Palestinians , Arabs and their supporters don't need to do anything . They can simply bide their time for Israeli society to implode . # The enemy within # Trojan horse

"Dati Leumi apparently skipped this halacha and are not aware of the sin of wasting precious minutes in a secular army." The only sin in evidence is the extent to which you have been brainwashed.
45. #4
JDE ,   Boston, USA   (05.17.13)
"The jealousy of the secular who dress up like haredim, mingle among the crowd and cause the violence so that the media will be able to claim there was violence. Without these provocateurs haredi protests are always peaceful." There are no words for this level of stupidity.
46. parasites
Mark Weisgold ,   Israel   (05.17.13)
Most of this sector a ony parasites on our society. They know how to take everythging but give back nothing to the country. We would be better off sendind all of them out of the country.
47. Sam Gush # 6
Harvey ,   London   (05.17.13)
Sam If IDF cannot go into battle without Torah , then I suggest they stay at home while you confront Hamas with Torah . We will see how many of you will return to yeshiva the next day .
48. J'lem: 30,000 haredim protest against enlistment reform #41
Elsie. ,   Gush Halav.   (05.17.13)
#41 S.J Hypocrisy ?? I feel that you are very confused, the Arabs, many of them serve in the army, hospitals etc and do not have everything free, where people get this idea from is beyond me, ever heard of the word called taxes??
49. #39 Haredim NOT "thousands of years ago"!!!
kippa seruga ,   Israel   (05.17.13)
Just medieval AND mid-evil chilul haShem If you weren't so pitifully ignorant of history you'd know that your Haredim reforms are almost as recent as Reform reforms. No real difference.
50. KING DAVID TOOK UP ARMS WHEN HE HAD TO
mike ,   montreal   (05.17.13)
King david took up arms when he had to and learned torah too. I dont think no of them is 1% of his wisdom State of Israel holds on Torah but nobody today is on the level to study 24/24
51. #29 - cruel? You want cruel?
Mike   (05.17.13)
Go ask a holocaust survivor about cruel. Or go ask a Christian Palestinian woman whose infant was shot in the head by an IDFas she toddled around her own backyard. Go ask the people being beheaded by the Lord's Resistance Army in Africa. That's cruel. Having to look at women isn't cruel unless you are a sick person or a Muslim.
52. #41 show us the Arab Christians who are given full rights
Mike   (05.17.13)
Show us their land ownership, gun ownership rights, etc.
53. Haredim
vivienne   (05.17.13)
I cannot feel sympathy for these men, Israel has war knocking on her door and it's every man to the 'pump'. Do these radicals think God will intervene because they spend all day studying Torah. Israel is again the Scapegoat in the Middle East. Russia is suiting up Syria, and as one blogger on NYT pointed out Russians will be manning S-300.Get out there with the rest of Israels men and women and defend her borders.
54. 42.
Birdi ,   Israel   (05.18.13)
Yeah, yeah, of course, you are right! Is that what the Vatican tells you? Nope IDF won't fight, they will sit quiet until your saviour in the sky takes over for them. Absolute trash!
55. what chutzpa you have
proud religious idf   (05.19.13)
Excuse me? What a chilul hashem your comment was..learn a little rav kook and maybe you'll understand not only do the religious have to serve but the reason the army is secular is because there arent enough of us there
