2. Argentinian Jews "desaparecidos"
Abu Yussef al Yahudi ,   Bue_Aires-Argentina   (05.17.13)
As a human being and a Jew too, I don't feel any joy before the death of a human being, but in the case of this despicable monster that was Jorge Rafael Videla, I have a feeling of satisfaction, because his death has happend behind the bars of the jail, the place where he deserves to be. The Justice of the Human Beings was accomplished several years ago, and the Justice of the Lord - BH"(Blessed be His Holy Name)- was accomplished today. We, argentinian jews, must remember that a lot of the "desaparecidos" were from jewish ancestry , and the punishment of the military against these poor people was agravatted by their "jewishness", because of the Nazi and Anti-Semite ideology of the "Junta Militar" that was governing Argentina between 1976 and 1984. Shabath Shalom

But there may be two sides to the story. The crimes of the Communist are great and many, and their victims number in the 10's of millions, over many decades and continents. And as a Jew I will say this: The fact that some Communists and extreme Leftists happen to be of Jewish descent does nothing to mitigate the gravity of their crimes and the evil of the ideology they espoused. The likes of Trotsky, Lazar Kaganovich, and other Communists of Jewish descent stand as a blot on the good name of the Jewish people. When is there going to be an accounting for the 80 million victims of Communism?

Thank for your Reply to my post # 2. First of all, I agree with you that the Mankind must fight very hard against every extremism, either from the Extreme Right, like the Nazism and the Fascims, or from the Extreme Left, like the Communism. BUT, my friend, this fight MUST BE performed into the limits of the Law and the Justice , without any excess, like the many violations of the Human Rights that we have suffered here in Argentina under the bloody government of the infamous "Junta Militar", between the years 1976 and 1984. AND keep in mind that, in these "years of lead" (años de plomo) here in Argentina, a significant percentage of the people that were arrested, tortured, and murdered was not guilty of the offenses that were accused of. As a matter of fact, I myself have known a couple of people that was detained and killed by the Military, whose only fault was to be an acquaintance of a Leftist person. There IS NOT any pretext to use the power of the military's weapons against the civilians, without the legal rigth to appeal to a fair Justice System, because it is TOTALITARISM in all the countries of the Planet Earth, and in all the Planets of the Galaxy too. Have you a good Saturday

I would show no love and no hate for Mr. Videla. He showed no mercy from 1976 to 1981. In the other hand, what is going on now? Why do the government type is similar? During the process, we were scared to go out because you were a suspect Now you are scared because the Kampora. What do we change? What is different now? Forget about critics to the government: both have their own style to make you silence. During Videla: Zionism was terrorism Now: we have a new friend Iran. As we conclude, for people in Argentina, nothing have changed

Jorge, I stronlgy disagree with you. The currentl Goverment of Argentina is a Democratically elected one. This Government DOES NEITHER throw helpless people alive from an airplane flying over the sea, nor enters the homes of the citizens to arrest them illegally and then murder they with impunity. HOWEVER, my friend, I strongly agree with you in the issue that this Government of the Kirchners, IS THE MOST TOTALITARIAN Government since the incepcion of the Democracy in Argentina in 1983, and also is THE WORST regarding the Civil Rights and the Press' Freedom. Shabat Shalom

It seems that you HAVE NOT any clue about the feelings of the Argentinian People regarding the infamous and bloody "Junta Militar" that was governing with iron fist in Argentina in the 80's. So, according to the written above, I deduce that YOU ARE a GREAT LIAR Shabat Shalom

Jorge ,   Israel/USA/Argentina   (05.18.13)
My perspective is from the Jewish view. I do actually live anymore in Argentina but the Democratically elected is looking to change the Constitution to provide a green light for it is so called re re election. My point is not defending either regimes, my point is What is Luis D'Elias doing in the government? What is the new agreement with Iran? What is the alliance with the chavistas (they broke diplomatic relation with Israel)? Regarding the desaparecidos, obviously in agreement with you. Please include the people killed by AAA and the guerrilla. Do not forget that the guy from pagina 12 killed police too and he is impune. Guit Shabes desde Chicago

Jorge, I agree with you that the main cause of the take-over of the Military of the Argentina's Government in 1976, was the dirty war of the Montoneros and other Leftist armed organizations against the civilian government. Let's remember that Peron fired them from the Plaza de Mayo, a few days before his death, calling they as "Imberbes". But, well, unfortunately they are now back, but this time as the Government, and under the name of "La Cámpora" too. Regarding the relationship of the Governement with the Argentinians Jewry, you are correct in the sense that now it is very bad, as is the diplomatic relations with the State of Israel. We , Jews of Argentina are very afraid of the current status, and also we are very angry with the signing of the damn Treaty with Iran. Undoubtedly, the Argentinian Government has warmed his relationship with Iran, in detriment of its ties with other Western countries, mainly with the USA and Israel. For us, the situation is of concern, but we hope to defeat the government in the next parlamentary elections in October, to prevent the reform of the Constitution and the "Re-re-election" of Cristina Fernandez. Shabat Shalom
