2. Israel err in this Regard !
Arn. ,   Sweden.   (05.18.13)
I Quote - Israeli intelligence official: Assad preferable to rebels Senior Israeli official speaks to London-based Times, says Israel prefers weak Assad to terrorist takeover: 'Better the devil we know than demons we imagine Comment - If Assad stays He will coordinate His Ways with IRAN to the Greater Peril of Israel. If the Sunni take over, they will not Cooperate with Iran. Arn.Sweden.
3. Supporting Assad
Wang Zuli ,   Shanghai   (05.18.13)
Long time before Israel know that Assad is better, my government in Beijing already have known that Assad is the best ruler for Syria. My government is very far-sight. That is why China must be the broker of peace in Middle East not America or Europe.
4. syria
spookey ,   birmingham uk   (05.18.13)
the rebels have prove them Self to be blood thirsty savages, it seems to me unless arabs are ruled with an iron fist by there leaders then you have got problems ,
5. Assad HAS BEEN wonderful-but he has some baaad friends
Alan ,   SA   (05.18.13)
6. I'm Chinese too and ur wrong
Another Chinese guy ,   Beijing China   (05.18.13)
Our government is full of ..... And u don't sound like a typical Shanghainese. We all know that the gov supports any such leaders because our gov is against revolutions and rebellions for obvious reasons. Besides, China is pretty neutral with Israel despite Iran being our 2nd biggest host of oil because we are in the same boat with Tibet, Xinjiang, and Taiwan as Israel is with the territories. People, most Chinese support their government but we aren't stupid anymore. Anyone educated had a VPN or has studied abroad, we know our government is afraid of change. It is ok though because they are doing the best job in the world in terms of economic development. My family is now much richer than most American families thanks to the economic reforms. China will be the 900 pound gorilla in the world in the future and Russia will just be a military hardware supplier, nothing more. But it's not Chinas time yet.
7. Much better for Israel
Mira ,   Vienna   (05.18.13)
to side with strong powers like Russia or China instead of the weak Leadership in the White House with Muslim background! US is going down thesewage! This President was the worst that could happen to America!
8. Israeli official
Cipora Julianna Kohn ,   Z   (05.18.13)
there are more of them than sands in the ocean.
9. Prefere Assad?
albert snow ,   sweden   (05.18.13)
No way. Best were if Syria is cracking apart and divided in Three independent states. One kurd, one alawite and one sunni. A divided Syria would strengten Israel, weaken Iran and possibly making kurds an ally. Think new!!
10. To # 9 : None of your business
Abdel Karim Salim ,   Jerusalem   (05.18.13)
Arab internal affairs are none of your f----- business . Just keep to yourself or else we will start interfering in your internal problems...
11. It is strictly the devil that you know vs. the devil that...
Jehudah Ben-Israel ,   Qatzrin, Israel   (05.18.13)
...you don't know, and the world turns and turns and turns..., sadly.

A divided Syria is the best for Israel,
13. Really smart of that "Defense Official"
Gil ,   Tel Aviv   (05.18.13)
Hey great idea to release that official info to anyone that would like to read it. Why don't the IDF Officials just send the rebels an email or letter directly explaining what they should do in order to put Israel in the worst possible situation?? Idiots!
14. #6 tibet and taiwan are like the pals?
ronen   (05.18.13)
how many chinese did they kill? arent you ashamed to be a billion and a half against these tiny and weak adverseries? make no mistake about it you are the biggest and scariest bully in the eastern half of the planet
15. Not true
Matt   (05.18.13)
It was know he would not fall in weeks or months. It is a debate inside Israel as to what is best. Better every man with an AK and RPG than Assad and the Hizbullah. The IDF can create that after the fact. Demilitarized, like Palestinian Authority. Live be happy.
16. Let russia pay and go broke
BUILD BABY BUILD !!! ,   United States   (05.18.13)
she has no other choice. If, however, the war goes in favor of the rebels, the Russians will run like Nasrallah. If they don't, the rebels will feed them to the dogs after publicly humiliating their bodies and or, eating their livers. What a prospect.
17. I'll be honest
Jewish Patriot ,   Galut   (05.18.13)
Let them kill each other. These people cannot even make peace with themselves, with their own countrymen. So how would they make peace ever with Israel? Impossible. These are not rebels, and Assad's soldiers are not "soldiers". Both are CRUEL, BRUTAL, RUSTICS far from freedom fights and romanticism like that. They are coward rustics, but fanatics and cruel that's why they are dangerous. And I don't understand liberals and others who say Americans/Russians should intervene or not, etc...it is only Syrian's business, let them all kill each other. The humanity don't need these type of "people".
18. To # 6 : Stop Being Arrogant...
Abdel Karim Salim ,   Jerusalem   (05.18.13)
You should have been wise and considerate enough not to boast about your family's economic/social well being ( think of the poor's feelings when they read your comment ) . And before you brag- arrogantly but undeservedly- about the future of your country and its supposed status as a "500Kgm Gorilla" think of the big number of the poor people in China whose population now exceeds one billion ( Israel itself has 7 million people and yet 20% of them are below poverty line ) . Just think of how you are going to feed your people before you think of manufacturing destructive weapons... PS : I'm arab ...
19. #17 - I clap hands for you
Marcelo Freitas ,   Sao Paulo   (05.18.13)
I think the same as #17, my only concern is the kurds. They are not arabs, never were, never willbe. They are just one more civilization traped inside the arab world, like jews were for centuries, that do not have the economic power (like jews had) to conquer their freedom! When the whole world tells palestinians need a country I say:Fuck off, they are arabs and already have 22 countries. But unfortunatelly kurds have none!Israel should sympathizemore with them, and armenians who are also traped in the middle of an eternal fight arena!Regards from Brazil!
20. The Times of London
Doug ,   U.S.   (05.18.13)
The Times will print/manufacture whatever helps to sell more advertisements, regardless of the consequences, and Ynet (along with others) will be happy to reprint it, for the same reasons. "כל הכבוד לכם"
21. #17: Right On! But no Assad = Al Qaeda on our border!
Dee Bee ,   Israel   (05.18.13)
The "Rebels" have made it quite clear - after Assad, next is ISRAEL! What Israel needs to do is tell the Russians and their minions, Assad, Iran, Hamas and Hezbollah, that Israel will NOT interfere in the Syrian civil war but any threat against Israel from any of Putin's friends will send those who attack back into the days of the Bi Bang! Putin knows that Israel can do it but our Bibi Netanyahu must make him realize that Israel will do. One Holocaust was enough and we must never forget that to a lesser or greater extent, the Russians were complicit in the extermination of the Jewish people and the Soviet Union and its satellites persecuted and murdered Jews after World War II!
22. @10 why looking to the west for help
Reuven ,   Netanya   (05.18.13)
You say not to interfere but why is the arab world as a whole looking to the west to do something about this horrible situation. A division in 3 states would be good outcome for all etnic groups in Syria it seems, its an idea. It seems like you prefer dictatorship, if you like it that much why you don't go and live there?
23. Nice mocking
Roman   (05.18.13)
Nice to mock your enermies as you enjoy your peace and see your enermies falling apart so can Israel choose devils or demons except GOD?

25. #21--I think Bibi's
arne ,   chicago usa   (05.18.13)
recent meeting with Putin was about Syria and what's going down now is no surprise. Israel would rather see a weaker Assad then the alternitive. The rebels if in power would be a disaster.Somebody should tell that to the hawks in my country. STAY THE HELL OUT
26. Nr.10. We know that You will come .
Arn. ,   Sweden.   (05.18.13)
Jesajah 14. 12 “How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! How art thou cut down to the ground, who didst weaken the nations! 13 For thou hast said in thine heart, ‘I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God; I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north. 14 I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the Most High.’ 15 Yet thou shalt be brought down to hell, to the sides of the pit. Comment - The Al Mahdi in Irak is refered to and, the side of the North is the Scandinavian Peninsula. Arn.Sweden.

Benji ,   Montreal   (05.18.13)
You've really got outstanding patriotism skills, haven't you...
28. To: No. 6
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (05.18.13)
Oh, please. When -- because of economic pressures at home -- foreign countries stop outsourcing work to China, what do you think will happen to China? You cannot even feed your billion-plus people without massive imports of food. Get real! China is a gorilla totally dependent upon foreign outsourcing and imported food. We can make you an unemployed, starving gorilla in no time at all.
29. Israel fears Arab democracy. Wants cold war dictators back.
Steve Benassi ,   Silver Bay, MN USA   (05.18.13)
30. #29 You haters of Israel are all schizophrenic
Jake   (05.19.13)
