1. Time to seperate state from religion and end ultra orthdox
Haim ,   TA   (05.20.13)
Time to seperate state from religion and end ultra orthdox rule over our lives. Israel claims to be a democratic state yet is far from it is on level pegging with Iran and Afghanistan when it comes to democratic freedom.
2. Orthodox will not go away easily, but they will, for sure.
Michael ,   California, USA   (05.20.13)
This article is about small revolutions, helpful yet partial. The real revolution will come when religion is completely separated from state institutions in Israel. Religion can only be a private matter of an individual, with no restrictions. When this comes, it will be the day when "shavu banim l'gvulam" will occur.
3. Would be great for Zionists "rabbis" to take over marriage
Great Idea   (05.20.13)
and other religious affairs as it will be easier for haredim not to intermarry with these reform Jews or goyim. If they'll ever want to be part of the haredim they'll just have to convert or redo their marriage the orthodox way.
4. #3 News flash for you: Zionist rabbis are Orthodox
Cyberbrain ,   Israel   (05.20.13)
Haredim are Ultra-Orthodox.
5. Sorry
moriaEmmes ,   sacramento ca.   (05.20.13)
Orthodox( whatever stream) are not going away. We will be here in 50 years when you have all married out of the faith - your children will no longer be Jews! Go ahead and marry goyish women and have your Chanukah bushes and embrace your interfaith "bonds." That's what's happening in the US.
6. What a load of crap. We don't need a revolution in Judaism:
tom ,   tel aviv   (05.21.13)
we need secular burials and secular weddings opportunity. The rest is not something the government should be getting involved with. If someone wants to create "Judaism with pork" movement, then it's their business. I am convinced there'll be a lot of idiots joining in.
7. All enemies LOVE our hatred for one another!
Flavio ,   Sao Paulo, Brazil   (05.20.13)
Every time a Jew devotes his/her time and energy to fight another Jew over religious differences, every enemy of the Jewish people in the world rejoice! Iranians, Hizballah, European far right, neonazis, Jews for Jesus, christian missionaries, oh, they simply LOVE to read about haredim vs reformists and chilonim, sefaradim x ashkenazim, etc etc. Yes, we make it so much easier for them to achieve their hideous goals, by weakening ourselves in these pointless discussions, by breaking our bonds between people that first and foremost were supposed to be achim. What happened to kol Israel arevim ze lazeh? Come on, folks, we MUST pay attention to what we share, to what make us members of the same people - otherwise we shall pay a very heavy price, again and again!!!!!!!!!!! Enough sinat hinam in our midst!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
8. #4 It doesn't matter whether they are orthodox or ultra
(05.21.13)
Whatever they are, if they'll want to be accepted in haredi circles, they'll have to convert again with Haredi Rabbis. It might be an easy solution now, however In the long run, Bennett will be the cause of lots of trouble for you guys.
9. #8-THAT's why revolution. Khareidim r contraTorah meshumadim
Paqid Yirmeyahu ,   netzarim.co.il   (05.21.13)
I converted to keep Torah according to intelligent, educated, logical Halakhah. and I'd die a martyrs death rather than desecrate that to become Khareidi.
10. #9 - Die whatever death you want, you Baptist Minister, you.
Andy ,   Washington, DC   (05.21.13)
11. Thank you, MK Ganfni for saying...
Ruthie ,   Jerusalem, Israel   (05.21.13)
"The sensitive issue of marriage and divorce is as important as an identity card, passport or any change in the citizen's personal status which he must take care of in his residential area." How right you are! This is the best argument I've ever heard for taking marriage and divorce out of the hands of the Ministry of Religious Affairs and giving it over to the Ministry of Interior!
12. reform is not judaism (end)
eiran ,   brazil   (05.21.13)
13. The Haridim monoply
Normna Gellman ,   Rehovot   (05.22.13)
It is not the orthodox who have a monopoly on state religious affairs but it is the Haridim. Who in actual and historical fact are FAR from main stream Judaism Having said that, if Israel is a real democratic state the all religious movements need to be accepted. Israel need to be a state for (all) Jews not a Jewish (religious) state.
14. @10 there is a difference between
JeanH ,   USA   (05.22.13)
a Torah keeper or a torah hater and it is found in keeping Torah in a rational, logical, halachic way as per har Sinai... you judge off hear-say a true Torah follower because he exposes the false Ultra orthodox. Yermiyahu is a jew by true Torah definitions.

Your comment are true words, but a little half baked. May I... We are all Jews. There was never Streams/Branches. We have survived 3325 years as a Jewish nation by being Jewish, PERIOD. Without Labels. We will be here until the end of time. We all know where the Streams/Branches has taken our brothers. We will endure. The Torah is not Man made, for Man to decide how a Jew is to behave. the FEEL GOOD religion, is a direct assault on TRUE JUDAISM. I won't be surprised if my Comment will not be published. Ynet dislikes RAW TRUTH. But I keep on trying.
16. @15 just a curiousity...
JeanH ,   USA   (05.23.13)
are you Heridi, Reform, Conservative, Shefardi, Azkenazi, Yemeni, Modern, secular Jew? Which stream or branch do you claim to belong? If there are branches now there were in the past. Logic.
17. @15 examples...
JeanH ,   USA   (05.23.13)
Cohanim ha-resha, saducees, Herodian Pharasees, Perushim Parasees, Tzedekim, Essenes,.... Historically proven 'branches' of Judaism about 2000 years ago.
