1. Outside NOT so nice it's DANGEROUS
CouldBeBetter ,   Boston Ma   (05.21.13)
The hotel might be lovely on the inside but once guests go out they are subjected to unscrupulous taxi drivers obviously working with the front desk and speeding drivers who dont slow down at pedestrian street crossings so you take your life in your hand when trying to cross the street in front of the hotel on the crosswalks!! Behind the hotel there is a lovely park but who can enjoy it you are subjected to Arabs trying to rob you .The hotel with the city needs to improve street crossings warning lights to slow down and beef up security in the area behind the hotel, many VIP's stay here and have these unfortnate life threatening experiences,
2. King David Hotel bombing was the "9/11" of the 20th Century

Trust you to be the informer of that old news!
4. #2, King David Hotel is in Jerusalem, not London
Jake   (05.22.13)
It was the military headquarters of the British Mandate authorities. 3 warnings were issued to evacuate, one to the hotel lobby. 9/11 was in the heart of New York and Washington. The primary target was American civilians. No warning was issued. You are morally defunct, Benassi.
5. #2 You'd have to clean a lot of bed pans
Benji ,   US   (05.22.13)
To afford one night in this hotel. Eat your heart out Benassi. In your case, Israel envy has become a serious disorder.
6. Great achievement - But Minister of Tourism...
Tim ,   Brighton   (05.22.13)
Surely we have to expand the Tourism Experience and develop lower cost Family Holidays In the form of Resorts with lots of activity Israel doesnt have a long enough coastline to have such Med Resorts - but is blessed with the Negev where we could offer a series of Desert Resorts and Desert Retreats - self contained with lots of activity and entertainment - constant sun, clean air, stunning sunsets...at affordable prices After all the market for Family Resort Style Holidays is approximately 10 times larger than Sightseeing Tourists and Luxury Holidays put together! And its not as if inland Resorts are new..Centre Parcs in the UK does a roaring trade...despite the awful weather I urge the Government to get some extensive market surveys done..not only to see the potential but to help define what could be a uniquely 'Israeli' resort for Tourists as well as Israelis Minister you could be utterly surprised with the possible potential not only for Tourism, but the general development of the Negev and its Capital Beersheba

VIP's need to bring their own body guards! Arabs trying to rob you in the park behind the hotel? A vivid imagination you have, for sure. On your next visit, call me, I'll come teach you how to navigate the streets of Jerusalem-on foot. The entire complex, inside & out, the King David Hotel, is fantastic & we Israelis are proud of it. Shalom.

The brits were warned the hotel would be blown up; the arabs didn’t warn anyone. But you are never good with facts, are you? Especially since they prove every single one of your posts wrong.

Mickey ,   Sydney, Australia   (05.22.13)
Israel has a large number of reasonably priced tourist resorts. There is the kibbutz hotel organisation, which run very good 3 & 4 star resorts with facilities such as swimming pools, tennis, horse riding etc. there are other resorts along the Sea of Galilee, many caravan and camping sites as well. Hotels such as those in the Judean hills, between Tel Aviv and Jerusalem are truly lovely. I have been to some of these many times
10. #1 What are you talking about?
Alan ,   New York, USA   (05.22.13)
I have been to the King David hotel twice. Once 5 years ago and last year. I did not have the experiences you allude to at all. It was a Great holiday. The staff was polite and efficient, the food was great, the pool area was spectacular, no one tried to rob me and I had no problem crossing he road.
11. #9. Very interesting Thanks for that Mickey
Tim ,   Brighton   (05.23.13)
Good point...Given I wasn't aware..perhaps these Kibbutz based Resorts need to be marketed and promoted more aggressively to the general public Jewish and Non Jews The JC in the UK for example is full of ads extolling the virtues of luxury 5 Star and Sightseeing experiences... So maybe the Kibbutz Hotel and Resort Organisation can lobby for funds from the Israel Tourist Board to run a comprehensive World Wide Campaign for the 'uniquely Israeli Kibbutz Inland Resort' Still think though Mickey that bigger self contained Desert Resorts in the Negev have their place too
12. Mega vs. Boutique
michadumi ,   Bucharest, Romania   (06.30.13)
also tel aviv vs. jerusalem :) I stay in jerusalem 5 times a year on business, and always go to tel aviv for relaxation during trip. i think jerusalem mega hotels much nicer, but tel aviv boutique hotels only option. My choice is the Anna Boutique Residence in tel aviv, because of proximity to beach and nightlife. In jerusalem definitely king david. This way i get the best of two worlds in one trip. Business and pleasure, tel aviv and jerusalem, mega and boutique.
