Recruitment does at least 2 things. Actively attempt to break down the barriers in the wider Jewish society, and also give a taste of real life and self reliance to the strange Sects. Haredi people is slowly increasing enlisting in IDF by their own initiative. This law is a good way to derrail every past effort made in order to integrate to haredim to secular society. Why not to force seculars recruits to study Torah? Arab enlistment is simply suicide.

How much will 21 year old "conscripts" with 2 or 4 children at home cost us in sheqals compared to normal 18 year olds. Why can't these kids serve with our kids. there is no such thing as separate but equal, it's never worked worked, never will.
