most of the new york times' "anonymous sources" seem to echo the views (and spin) of the white house. this "leak" is not in the interests of israel or of the syrian druze, so it begs the question of where it really came from, and why.

The Arabs know very well that if they touch any Druze they will pay a price. Their courageous brothers in Israel will not seat and watch

Until recently, some of our Golan Druze always purported to belong to Syria. Well, I'm not so sure if they feel the same about that now...probably counting their blessings that they're on our side of the fence. Maybe their families in Syria wished that they were as well. Whatever, I concur that this story shouldn't have been leaked

But now that it's out of the sack, may I just say to the Golan Druze: choose again. Reconsider your loyalty. Ask your brothers in Dalyat Carmel, Usafiya, Yarka and other prosperous Druze towns if standing with Israel is all worth it.

It seems whoever leaked this is trying to cause more chaos in syria
