The USA imposed an arms embargo as Israel was besieged by forces from Egypt, Syria, trans-Jordan, and elsewhere. Britain armed the Arabs-- some of the invading forces were even commanded by Brits, and a few RAF planes flew with the Egyptian air force. Few countries supplied Israel with arms-- the principal source being Czechoslovakia. As for "letting Palestine be," Palestine never was anything but a Roman term for the land otherwise known as Israel. It has no meaning in Arabic, and there is scant record of any distinct Arabic ethnic identity in the land now claimed by those who describe themselves with the term.

As for the drones. Like any other weapon, a drone can be used legally or illegally. The problem is not the use of drones, it is the fact that Obama's use of drones is a war crime.
