1. Question
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (05.24.13)
So she KNEW her husband is violent and she FEARED for the safety of her children, but she let her husband take them? The whole thing sounds contrived -- especially the part where the loving grandfather talks about suing "those responsible." Can't sue yourself.
2. Beduin society and government authorities.
Bobk ,   Orlando US   (05.24.13)
Beduin resentment of 'interference' by the 'authorities' including the police, could also be a factor here. The Beduin have traditionally settled their own affairs their way and rresent government rule. Hence they build villages and towns without permission. Still, no excuse for not following up on thios serious compalint by the mother regarding her daughters safety.

Oh yeah, "she let her husband take them" - are you sometimes asking yourself what these women can do, when they are forced to marry at 12 or 13, have to bear the violence of the husband and have no say.... your hate towards Arabs is, sometimes, unbelievable - Two little innocent girls were murdered by their criminal father; actually, whether you like it or not, our police did nothing, because they are bedouins. You are such a piece of drek. As long as you always come with your sbarro story which, we all know, is pure invention

Stan ,   Israel   (05.24.13)
In Beduin Society the women have no rights. If the father wants the children with him, she has to accept this.
5. #3, Benny, can you prove your allegation?
Jake   (05.24.13)
"As long as you always come with your sbarro story which, we all know, is pure invention". That's a bold statement. Can you substantiate it? If so, let's hear your evidence. If not, you might find yourself on the receiving end of a libel suit.
6. mother donated girls' organs for transplant
benny ,   ashdod   (05.25.13)
as was reported in weekend yediot print edition. this brave gesture must be noted and surely appreciated.
7. Moreover, #3, is there a regular police patrol in al-Furah?
Jake   (05.24.13)
Or any of the Negev Bedouin towns, for that matter? The Bedouin towns have been very resistant to policing. By the way, the Arad Police commander, his deputy and the head of the station's investigations department have already been fired for their mishandling of this case. The murderer will in the end be caught.

So where was the grandfather and his extended tribal family when his daughter and grandchildren needed protection? Saying "I was afraid" just doesn't ring true.
9. Beduin and the Police
Ellen ,   Israel/NYC   (05.25.13)
It is terrible when a group of people are part of a culture that gives the father so much power that the females become, in essence, slaves. However, I wonder what the response would have been had a large police force arrived to arrest/question the father PRIOR to this horrendous act on his part. The same people who are complaining about the lack of police would be complaining about the harassment being done BY the police. The anti-Israel NGOs would all be protesting and YNET would have a headline. Unfortunately, you can't have it both ways. Trying to do so means someone will lose everytime. Today two girls were the victims.

No American 15 years old boy was killed there. Look at the list of casualties

GR   (05.24.13)
If you want to sue you should sue your son in law, he is the one that killed your grandaughters

I remember Sarah saying her child was 13 years old,and you really don't know if he was killed,or not. Many of the victims of the suicide bombings died of their injuries months and sometimes even years later. Maybe Sarah and her family didn't want the media involved in their grief,so they kept quite about his death, which is perfectly understandable as my family would have done the same thing. I don't always agree with everything Sarah says, but it is cruel and heartless of you to accuse her of lying about something you really don't know about.
13. this type of tragedy should come as no surprise
frank ,   rehovot   (05.25.13)
we simply do not have a police force! I personally can give you many examples of how the police in their complete and utter disregard for law and decency ignore the pleas of citizens, don't show up, refuse to follow up, do not do their jobs but certainly bitch about how much they are not making. We need a real police department. We have security people, we have the army and we DEMAND a police department that looks after the rights of everyday citizens. We literally need to fire each and everyone and build from the ground up with the focus on citizens and their needs and not police and how much they need!!! Our supposed police department is disgusting, unprofessional and simply bad. It is no wonder these horrible things don't happen with even more frequency...

It wasn't months or years -- it was days -- but thank you very much.

Well, for your information, Sarah B also accuses people she never met of lying about things she does not know. So....

You don't know me, so how can you possibly know what I know? You, on the other hand, tend to slap up your ignorance on these talkbacks. You might want to learn to be a bit more circumspect.
17. BEDUIN IN ISRAEL
Nicki Joury ,   NYC ., USA   (11.24.13)
My humble opinion we. ISRAEL . , ought to let the BEDUIN live in peace. This sect of people HELPED OUT THE ISRAELIFORCES IN MOST OF THE WARS. Now ISRAEL MUST FIND A SOLUTION FOR THESE RIGHTEOUS PEOPLE. Please consider & be thankful for them . Thank You., Sincerely,. Nicki Joury
