1. Peres should be grateful if he still makes kaka himself,
tom ,   tel aviv   (05.26.13)
certainly not "policy": that's about only truthful statement that came out of Erkat's mouth in the last 20 years.
2. Saba! Ti-ye be shekket. Ata lo beseder!
Yosi ,   Gilo-Jerusalem   (05.26.13)
How long must we put up with Perez and his destructive words and ideas? Please someone, put him in a pension house.
3. Erakat
Eyal ,   USA Israel   (05.26.13)
You can't dictate to us nothing. You can whine until tomorrow and nothing will change. It is almost time to send you to Jordan, perhaps than we can speak.
4. peres has caused israel so many problems
marv   (05.26.13)
peres along with his ignoramus poodle beililn followed by pacifist ben ami caused israel many problems with his rotten oslo. This was followed by barak and then olmert/lvini who harmed israel grievously. All were and are disconnected from reality on the ground. In the case of olmert, he cannot negotiate, doesn't understand security one bit and whose judgement stinks period.
5. Does Shimon Peres really speaks for Israel?
Son Of Cyrus ,   UK   (05.26.13)
Could someone in Israel please enlighten us all about Mr Shimon Peres. This is my understanding for what is worth: 1) He won the Nobel Peace jointly with Mr President Arafat??? What a joke. 2) He is a very wealthy man. 3) He is very old and really has passed retirement age. 4) He thinks himself as a visionary, however, in ME visions do not apply specially with most arabs or Islamic Nations. 5) The only thing that will prevail is excellent security (specially secure borders), military might and strong deterance and technological edge. That is the reality! Thank you.
6. Peace talks, by all means: Peace-for-Peace, based on
Jehudah Ben-Israel ,   Qatzrin, Israel   (05.26.13)
UN Security Council Resolution, 242, 1967, now!!
7. Peres kept telling us Arafat wanted peace
Dan Kelso   (05.26.13)
Peres opposed bombing Iraq's nuclear facility in 81. Peres opposed Israel going into Jenin in 2002 after Palestinian homicide bombers from Jenin were slaughtering Israeli civilians, including the Passover massacre. Peres opposed going into Jenin cause he was more concerned about his legacy and appeasing Arafat who was behind the atrocities of Israeli civilians. Peres opposed killing Yassin in 2004. Peres said this after Israel killed Yassin in 2004. And what was it that Shimon Peres said after the Yassin assassination Peres said: “We must look terrible . . . for killing an old religious leader in a wheelchair coming out of a mosque. . . . I never thought they would dare to go through with it. . . . Had I been a member of the government I would have voted against this. . . . only by assassinating the reasons for terrorism can we assassinate terrorism.” Earth to Peres. Hundreds of Jews who had there limbs torn off by homicide bombers sent by Yassin. The PR shots of Yassin in his wheelchair will be remembered by those that don’t see the crippled Jewish bodies of all those that he ordered to be bombed by Hamas. Yassin was a mass murderer of the same ilk as Saddam Hussein. Saddam never killed a Kurd he just inspired others to do his dirty work.
8. Mr. Peres Yawn....
Dror ,   Emeq Yizrael, Israel   (05.26.13)
What else does he have left to do with himself? For all of his service to the country, I am sorry to inform you all that he is still part of the Erev Rav. These re-incarnated souls have been foretold to rule over us in this pivotal time in history. They will not solve anything, they are here just to fulfill a tikkun of their souls, they are the same souls that caused the Destruction of the Second Temple and the longest Exile the Jewish people ever faced. Therefore the burden of being the government over the most difficult people and country in the world falls on their shoulders.
9. #5 don't forget
israel israeli ,   tel aviv   (05.26.13)
Peres was never elected Prime Minister: the voters always rejected him in favor of someone else. The only election he ever won was President by the Knesset under Olmert, who wanted to get rid of him from Kadima. Rabin called him an unstoppable backstabber.
10. Time for Egypt to demand implementation of the SECOND part
Ramzi Jaber ,   Palestine   (05.26.13)
of the Camp Daivd AccordS. Yes, that's with an S as they were two accords signed back in 1979. For 34 years, Israel got a pass due to the traitor Mubarak. Now the people of Egypt must demand the implementation of the entire two accords.
11. In common
Reuven ,   Netanya   (05.26.13)
It seems that the majority of commentators, share the same genes. The gene of ignorance, stupidity and above all the gene that is responsible for the lack of vision. The only thing you do is repeat previous spoken words, its time for some solutions ... Real solutions that is, not just "send them to Jordan", "put him in retirement", etc .. You all know, but are afraid of the truth, we will have to return to the 67 borders or at least partially. The sooner that will happen, the sooner we will have the ability to work on our future because we are in a standstill for at least 20 years now.
12. Make Peres & Labor compensate Oslo victims.
Chaim ,   Israel   (05.26.13)
13. Does the world have EARS?
Sam Sweiry ,   Eastbourne - UK   (05.26.13)
No - No - No - You heard it right - It is not that Israel dont want peace - No! - it is the Palestinians who dont want to give way to peace - You heard me right ! - All Palestinians hate the Jews - If they have there way - they will throw every single jew from the land of Israel to the sea - That is absolute fact
14. Polish neo-Hebrew Szymon Perski early supporter of settlers
Steve Benassi ,   Silver Bay, MN USA   (05.26.13)
Good cop "Peres was once considered a "hawk". He was a protégé of Ben-Gurion and Dayan and an early supporter of the West Bank settlers during the 1970s."
15. No wonder
PaulD ,   Jerusalem   (05.26.13)
the world doesn't believe anything Israel says. Even Israelis know Peres speaks nonsense. He ain't no Mandela or Gandi, no one will ever stand in awe over his absurd attempt at sounding intelligent.
16. Hold Peres & Labor accountable for Oslo victims.
Chaim ,   Israel   (05.26.13)
Thousands of Israelis have already been maimed and murdered as a direct result of "peace talks with Palestinians" initiated by Peres and Labor. Peres and Labor should be held accountable for the incredible damage they've done, while chasing Nobel Prizes. Help Oslo victims sue Peres and Labor for some relief from the tragedies they've inflicted.
17. #5 you forgot
Bill Stein ,   USA   (05.26.13)
How is it a Peres with a politicians salary can run Peres Center Of Peace and live in luxury.? And you also forgot how is it a polition who sat in the cabinet during the 1973 war who probably was responsible or st least partially responsible for the disaster that cost Israel 2800 lives?
18. Peres : get real. You are not PM even
DT ,   TA Israel   (05.26.13)
though you think you are
19. There's no fool like an old fool.
Steve ,   San Francisco   (05.26.13)
Mr. Peres is living proof of that wisdom.
20. #16:The only proper price to pay for these"History Chasers"
tom ,   tel aviv   (05.26.13)
is to be relegated to said History's dustbin. The day will come when "Peres Peace Institute" will be turned into a nice, neigborhood shopping mall.
21. Yosi,#2
MONA ,   US   (05.26.13)
you should seriously think about peace, you have no choice when the Arab spring stops, may be you won't have time to think.
22. Who needs Peres ?
Nora Tel Aviv   (05.26.13)
Peres needs Peres.
23. Yuval Steiniz - the guy that busted the country's budget
Ted   (05.26.13)
has no right to say anything. Even if he does not agree with Peres, he has no right to put the President down, while the President is representing the country in front of these countries, mostly hostile towards Israel.
24. #20. Why let Peres & Labor get away with criminal negligence
Chaim ,   Israel   (05.27.13)
I see your point, Tom. However, thousands of innocent Israeli citizens have been maimed and murdered as a direct result of criminal negligence by Peres and Labor during the Oslo Disaster. Why let them get away with it?
25. Peres is RHIGT ! we must have peace
Charles ,   Petach Tikva   (05.27.13)
And to achieve this goal , no better way than discussions . Most , if not all of us WANT peace , but not at any price , not by returning to the pre 67 cease fire lines [ broken by Jordan in 67 ! ] not by giving up Yeroushalaim , not by giving up most of our "settlements" in Yehuda ve shomron , and certainly not by agreeing of the return of those "palestinian refugees" . On all other problems we can discuss . I'm asking "why didn't they ask for a "state" between the years 1948 and 67 , when the territory they want NOW was occupied and later annexed by Jordan ?
26. 25
(05.27.13)
you mean piece by piece of Israel till no more JEWS. Can you trust hungry tiger in your home ?
27. #25. The WW II Allies showed up how to make peace.
Chaim ,   Israel   (05.28.13)
Peace is only achievable through resounding Israeli victory over "Palestinian" poseurs with no concessions whatsoever. The WW II Allies showed Israel the true path to peace. They achieved permanent peace in Europe and Asia by pumelling Japan and Germany till they surrendered unconditionally.
