If I put an Israeli flag on the back of my bike, can I also call myself Israel's flag carrier? It's about time people realised that El Al is trying to pull the wool over your eyes, they have been a private company for the last 8 years and are not anything official nowadays.

The distance between the UK and The US is approximately half what it is to Israel; hence less fuel costs. That's why it's cheaper.
However, you are correct...more competition, lower prices for flights to Israel. Lately, the cost of fuel has jacked up the prices so high, that only the well off can fly to Israel.
