Actually all Israeli's need to share the "burden" and if you really mean it then you make sure that happens and not just pick one segment of Israeli society. Also let's make sure the government help to families with children "fair" by making sure anyone with more than one wife has to take care the second, third...however many wives and their children. One wife and her children only should get any kind of help.

If Lapid pulls out now then Bibi will be left without enough seats to form a coalition and so he will be forced to hold another election. Problem with that for Lapid is right now he is public enemy number 1 amongst some voters because they hold him directly responsible for the budget they do not like so he needs time to rebuild his image. The anti haredi campaign won't work again especially as he has now involved himself in real politics so he is no longer the good looking new boy who was going to change Israeli politics forever and alot of his supporters will loose their confidence with him and go for a mainstream Lapids dream of being PM within 16 months will end the same way as Livnis dream of being the next PM when she held an election taking Kadima from hero - zero. With any luck eventually we will loose Lapid and all the other opportunists and single issue patties and we will have a handful of mainstream parties then politics will change for the better.

Seems to me the economy was doing quite well! I don't know what pages lapid's been checking. But what is clear is that Lapid's policies will cause REAL PROBLEMS! especially since he knows NOTHING about economics!

Lapid's constituency is the upper-middle class, and that is who he is helping. All the new laws and taxes disproportionately hurt the poor (I am not talking about Haredim, but regular poor folk working to get by). He needs to make sure his voters keep their cars, their vacations, and their expensive lifestyles. For the rest of us who struggle to get by each and every month, we have no say and no one to protect us.

Why not let the hassidim, haredim, enlist in their black uniform, with in one hand a bible or a talmud and the other a gun or a spade. If they don't want , the yeshivot could be moved from the security of bne berak , mea shearim to yehuda ve chomron where they will gladly cooperate with the army

His father Tommy Lapid was infamous for his hatred of Charedim It seems that the son Yair has been influenced by his dad. Here in the US we have Chassidim, Modern Orthodox, Conservative, etc and we all manage to get along witthout hatred. What a shame that in the Holy Land the secular hate the religous.

We understand the spins against you. You are right. The Haredim HAVE to serve in the army, and then to integrate in the society. This is a BIG issue for Israel's future.
