1. this is disgusting.
sue ,   mevasseret   (05.30.13)
2. HOW IS THIS RACISM?????
Daniel ,   NY, USA   (05.30.13)
Arabs are not banned- that would be racism. Having separate days for Jews and Muslims makes all the sense in the world- avoiding potential friction is a good policy. Liberals ought to get their heads examined!!
3. actually, in the US
Aviva   (05.30.13)
they DO have separate days for Jews and Arabs in parks like Hershey Place and Six Flags - on chol hamoed or Islamic holidays the parks are closed except to those schools/groups who make arrangements for those days, so...
4. IT IS SEGREGATION (not racism)
W. Turner ,   Israel   (05.30.13)
The Arabs (Christian and Moslem) and us The Jews (Ashkenazi and Sefardi) are all SEMITES. Therefore this is about Semites being antisemitic! It has nothing to do with racism. It is is disgusting! Our family is boycotting Superland!
5. Segregation IS racism
Dave ,   Montreal, Canada   (05.30.13)
6. What works on Temple Mount works also in Superland!
David ,   Jerusalem   (05.30.13)
You can't have it both ways! No access restriction would be necessary if: The police would work in Arab sector as efficiently as in Price Tag incidents, and the Arab sector would finally start to wake up and stop teaching violent behaviour as a standard.
7. spin
(05.30.13)
what a spin! officials want to avert attention from institutional racism so they harshly criticize an amusement park...
8. @3 not in a bad way but did you read what the reaction was?
(05.30.13)
and yes the policy was immediately discontinued. So...
9. superland-
HAppy Settler   (05.30.13)
and which one of you "ifeh neefesh:' square heads wants to be responsible for WW3 when the fighting breaks out in superland- I have seen you all react - as soon as an Arab comes into the Azraeli Center in TA - you all run for the exits- hypocrites
10. This will give the "apartheid Israel" crowd a field day
Andi ,   Israel   (05.30.13)
Of course they won't refer to the blanket condemnation of this by the whole Israeli establishment, as discussed in the article above, but will report it as the general rule. In any case if there were days for Jews, and days for Arabs, that means there were days when Jews were barred also?
11. JUST WAIT TILL THE HAREDI TELL THEM ABOUT WOMEN...
stude ham   (05.30.13)
and the segregation of rides by male and women... we are seeing racism grow ever so much more prevalent in Israel. and this business of segregation by sexist and racist profiling has got to be forcefully ended. Israel's government must forcefully confront the cancer of sexism and racism before it destroys the country.
12. #10 - The "Apartheid Israel" Crowd Does Not
Doug ,   Rochestrer, USA   (05.30.13)
really need this They already have a field day with Apartheid citzenship requirements, Apartheid checkpoints, Apartheid walls, Aparthed separation wall, Apartheid buses Apartheid schools, and the daily theft of Arab land, water, natural resources.
13. Not so fast
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (05.30.13)
And should one of those Arab students, indoctrinated since birth with hatred for Jews and for the State of Israel, decide one fine morning he or she wants no greater calling than to be a martyr, wouldn't you rather he or she blow up his or her fellow Arabs, and not Jewish children? I would much rather he or she do precisely that. I'm fine with the policy. It's not discriminatory -- unless you think that being sensibly alert and cautious constitutes discrimination. (It doesn't.)
14. Once RACISM enters Judaism
Israeli 2   (05.30.13)
JUDAISM ceases to exist. It is an oxymoron to claim someone is a "Jewish Racist". So...either those people are Jewish or they are racists. Which one is it? Jews are indeed very prejudiced people, but the moment they become racist, they cease to become Bnei Yisrael. They will simply be Erev Rav.
15. We are all destined to live together
Rami of Nazareth ,   Israel   (05.30.13)
We are all destined to live together in in this wonderful country called Israel. The public and official reaction make me optimistic, hope it turns into actions and all forms of segregation/discrimination are eliminated from Israeli society.
16. # 3 - got a source for that?
elke ,   usa   (05.30.13)
Funny, but I don't see any info on those parks' web site that sets religious restrictions on who may enter. That would be forbidden by US discrimination laws.
17. RACISM
Israeli 2   (05.30.13)
If an Israeli does not support Judaism and/or the Torah, let him get the H... out of Israel. Is this statement racist? Israelis do not necessarily have to be Jews, but at least support the character and ideology of a Jewish state. No?
18. @16 I questioned #3 2 & I searched it on line
#8 ,   Israel/USA   (05.30.13)
1. You won't find it on either one of the amusement park sites because it was a project attempted in the early 2000's 2. It was criticized and discontinued at both parks. So #3 is mis-remembering history. Happens with people who are desperate to justify their point of view
19. @13 not so fast they r Israeli citizens
(05.30.13)
now shut ur dirty pie hole
20. Jewish kids r harrassed by Arabs there
DeliberateOmmission ,   Jerusalem Israel   (05.30.13)
A close and objective report would see that there is a very very bad record of violence and harassment of Jewish kids there and at other parks and violence towards them when Arab school kids are there It is well documented and both school systems requested separate days which is not reported in this once sided report deliberately avoiding reporting of the harassment of the Jewish children
21. To: No. 12
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (05.30.13)
You really need to look up the word "apartheid." It is abundantly clear that you do not have a clue as to what it means. Moreover, there is no "Arab" land in the State of Israel, nor in Judea and Samaria. Sucks to start and lose wars, doesn't it? But isn't that precisely what happened to the Arabs? They need to move on.
22. To #12
Andi ,   Israel   (05.30.13)
Thank you for proving my point. Just for starters, please refer me to the Israeli bus service in Israel or in Judea/ Samaria which has a policy of racial separation. How can a wall separate Jews from Arabs when 1 million Arabs live together with Jews on the "Jewish side of the wall? You are right that with a mindset that sees apartheid in anything Israel does or doesn't do,you don't need extra reasons, but, in any case the incident at Superland was unnecessary.
23. #12 - none of those actions are apartheid
William ,   Israel   (05.30.13)
since they are a direct result of "Palestinian" apartheid terrorist attacks when they targeted JEWS. Notice, there was free movement, a fast growing economy, and no roadblocks / security wall until Arabs chose to launch a terror war. If Israel were truly apartheid, they would target all Arabs and not just those launching violent attacks or supporting those who do. Further, I'll cite your "apartheid bus" claim with some facts. Arab only buses only block Jews from riding those buses, but not Arabs from Jewish buses, and those Pallys who use it thanked Israel for the service which is more reliable and less costly. Apartheid policies usually don't help the society supposedly targeted, huh? Segregated schools? Where? "theft of Arab land and natural resources" - wouldn't they have to own it first in order to have it "stolen"?
24. #15- equally, I hope the same from the Arab side
William ,   Israel   (05.30.13)
If their own discrimination against Jews and the State of Israel is subdued and replaced with cooperation, and mixed culture events like a day out at this amusement park ends with everyone enjoying themselves, then we'll have collectively made great progress. While Jews could start violence against Arabs in such a setting, Arabs have also started violence against Jews in such a setting. Such understanding needs to come from both sides.
25. Racism, come on!
Paul ,   Jerusalem   (05.30.13)
Whoever is screaming racism has no clue what goes on with Arab unsupervised groups, that are looking for an opportunity to harass Jewish kids. This applies to the parks in Jerusalem, and anywhere else Jews and Arabs are suppose to co-exist like good-little enlightened folks. Sorry, I've had too many threatening situations, unless they separate the Arabs or have guards or police at every 10 meters, I won't be going anytime soon.
26. @ #13 Sensibly Alert
Norman ,   Boca Raton / USA   (05.30.13)
Ideally this state of sensible alertness would be extended so that all non-Jews would be removed from Israel. This would pretty much guarantee 100% safety (except for the casualties of the occasionally insane traffic)
27. Pay attention
Miriam ,   Jerusalem   (05.30.13)
Jews are just as inconvenienced by this policy for obvious safety reasons, so how on earth does that constitute racism? The Leftists are the only instigators here by blurring the lines between sanity and extreme mental illness.
28. Daniel @2
Norman ,   Boca Raton / Florida   (05.30.13)
My feelings exactly! Separate but equal!!!!!
29. #20 - DeliberateOmmission
Norman ,   Boca Raton / USA   (05.30.13)
Right so to avoid this harassment they should assign Jew only and Arab only days. Since Arabs are about 20% of the population they can get 1.4 days each week. The 300,000 or so Israelis not otherwise classified can get a half day at the park.
30. profit is priority so wouldnt turn away without good reason
zionist forever   (05.30.13)
They traditionally have jewish groups on one day and arab ones on another. If this is true and there was a Jewish group planned to visit that day then I don't see anything wrong with turning away the arabs, they should have checked first it was ok to come on that day. Considering this is a major theme park interested in profit rather than politics and they have hosted both arab school events before why would that have suddenly changed. Sounds to me like an arab teacher who didn't get a conformation was ok to bring his group on that day and he got turned away and now he is having a tantrum and shouting apartheid.
