1. A page out of obama's playbook
Robert ,   New Jersey, USA   (06.01.13)
Erdogan read well the petty despot instruction book on preserving power: adit 'someone else' was responsible for the abuse of the citizens' rights and he will 'look into it.' Erdogan IS where the buck stops and is fully responsible for ordering the massive government response - just as obama is fully responsible for Fast and Furious, Bengazi, the IRS and Associated Press scandals. Plausible Deniability is the ruse all despots use to mask their power quest and contempt for the rule of law. You Turks have voted yourselves out of your democracy, just as Egypt had before you. When it comes time for your next 'election,' you will see how free and fair it will be. Despots do not willingly relinquish power.
2. TURKEY RIOTS

4. Turks know that Erdogan would never allow fair election
naro ,   nyc   (06.01.13)
Erdogan is a megalomaniac impudent autocrat who will never allow a free and fair election again. The young people are frustrated at the erosion of freedom and modernity in Turkey. They dont trust Erdogan and his empty words.

7. Turkey Shoot: Of course tear gas was wrong!
Dee Bee ,   Israel   (06.01.13)
Erdogan would have preferred mustard or even better, Sarin gas! Interesting that the British Foreign and Commonwealth Office has called for restraint though. Where were they when the Greeks were using water canons and tear gas in the riots in Athens? Oh yes, the Greeks aren't Muslims so the British must been seen to defend them!
8. Riots
charles   (06.01.13)
Soon they are going to say that it was Israel and the Jews who are the provocateurs.
9. Is this Turkey or Israel ?
Arnold ,   Montreal-Canada   (06.01.13)
Peaceful demonstrators losing eyes from bullets. Palestinian woman in critical condition after being hit with a gas canister.... how ironic is that ? And police using excessive force. This is just the beginning of the news coming out. Will there be an investigation. Smells like Erdogan's own nightmare of the flotilla in reverse.
10. " A half a dozen lost eyes due to the gas canisters"
BUILD BABY BUILD !!! ,   United States   (06.01.13)
A nation being led by the blind are now blinding their citizens... Erdogen is losing power in the most basic way - to civil protest. This time Erdogen can't blame Israel, the Zionists or any one but himself. Power to the people and humiliation for this bogus fraud Erdogen. This is another formalized Muslim actor in the sweep of the Arab Spring. Maybe there's hope yet for a Erdogen- less Turkey?
11. Islamist ignorat mobs voted for him and
Vardina   (06.01.13)
and they will always outnumber the educated secular citizens. New elections might get him a greater majority of Islamist radicals. What is the solution? Non nuclear bombs that are powerful enough to erase all Islamic countries from the earth without spreading radiation over the rest of the world. I never thought that I could come to such a dreadful conclusion.

14. Flopped flotilla
BUILD BABY BUILD !!! ,   United States   (06.01.13)
Turkey's only salvation is to reject Islamic radicals. All Muslim nations are in revolt, why not Turkey?
15. # 12 alp take back your nation
BUILD BABY BUILD !!! ,   United States   (06.01.13)
Erdogen's making a mess of Turkey would it be possible if so many Turks didn't agree with him?
16. Today we protested in NY
David Israel ,   New York, USA   (06.02.13)
Today we protested Erdogan / AKP in Zuccotti park in New York. New York supports the secular Turk who is bravely standing against AKP despotism.
17. Israelis must be relishing this to the fullest
Cameron ,   USA   (06.02.13)
Which is quite understandable. Nothing like seeing an enemy caught in turmoil and thrashing about.
18. #13 I salute you
Logic ,   Israel   (06.02.13)
I salute the Democrats who rebel against this crafty dictator. You know better than all of us that he will do everything to install himself as "President for Life" and complete the transition of Turkey into an Islamic Republic similar to Iran.
