In a week that saw Hezbollah and Iran get the upper hand on the rebels to have Samantha Power, who will become the most anti US Ambassador in history, appointed to the post, is a blow for peace in the Middle East and a descent into chaos, conflict, and more war, and a war I fear that will take the lives of tens of thousands of people all across the Middle East and one that will reach Israeli cities. Assad of Syria, Nasrallah of Hezbollah, and Khameini of Iran must be smiling today, and that is cause for tears for all decent people who want to have peace in the region. It would be nice if we had someone in the White House who recognized evil and brutality and was willing to defeat it but by allowing Assad to win it is obvious Obama doesn't care at all about the region going up in flames.

The approval of presidential appointments rests in the hands of the Senate, constitutionally. There is little -- actually, there is nothing -- that Obama can do about that. It would take a Constitutional amendment to achieve his threats -- and he cannot carry it off because the only threat that he can really bring to bear is his status as the commander-in-chief. And since the armed forces of the United States will pay him little or no regard, he's fresh out of luck. Just an ego-inflated Chicago rabble-rouser. No one has paid him any attention for a very long time. I don't see that changing. Obama is destined to be "remembered" as the worst president in United States history, and there is nothing he can do to change that.

If you look closely at her face as the discussion proceeds, you can see she develops the very beginning of a smirk which only enhances her ugly words and all the rest. My take is that she is a hiding behind her book smarts. She knows she is a miserable, spiteful person, and she tries to redeem herself by taking on "noble" causes, such as genocide, against what she perceives to be the underdog because she has felt like an underdog, on a personal level, all her life regardless of her accomplishments.
