Wang Zuli ,   Shanghai   (06.06.13)
Syria is needing the weapons for against the rebels and for against Israeli aggressions. We Chinese are on the side of Syria. I am expecting the government of China send our forces to Syria to help them. When we are there no other country will brave to touch Syria.
3. Obama is losing everywhere
CJK   (06.06.13)
obama's foreign policy and his national security priorities have emboldened us and its allies' enemies. the void left by the withdrawal of american forces from the middle east has been easily filled by the russians who are eager to assume their former role as a superpower and a player on the world stage, especially in the middle east. russia is totally indifferent to human rights or to the security of the sole jewish state of israel.
4. Super Power War Game
Sam Sweiry ,   Eastbourne - UK   (06.06.13)
Yes - we are witinissing the Super Power War Game unfolloding in front of our eye using Syria as the killing field - Dont they have any shame? - can anyone hear the suffering of the people of Syria? - we are all human beeing weither we agree with each other or not - why the killing?
5. A Right to defend Oneself...
Peter Morris ,   New Zealand   (06.06.13)
Or does that right apply only to Israel. Kicking up a fuss over a country wishing to defend itself make Israel a laughing stock. For heavens sake we aren't all stupid.
6. Thank you CNN, but
Robert ,   NY USA   (06.06.13)
I'm sure Israeli intelligence know how many bolts and rivets hold the ships together, the names of everyone on the ships and how much vodka they drink.
7. #5 Peter: The right to defend Oneself?
David ,   Israel   (06.06.13)
In you blind hatred of Israel and Jews you seem to forget that Israel is the country that the Arab world has being trying to destroy since the vote of Partition in 1948. Iran has threatened to "wipe Israel of the map" over and over again and is using its puppets like Syria and Hezbollah to do its dirty work for it! Syria itself has publicly proclaimed that its long range missiles are aimed at Tel Aviv. However, your point is quite understandable when one takes the Antisemitic remarks in your country when "Jews not Allowed" signs were put up during the Gaza Operations which were the result of incessant Hamas rocket attacks against civilian targets since 2000, and the anti-Israel stance taken by your rabid Antisemitic former Prime Minister, Helen Clark. Be truthful, Peter Morris, in your world Jews and Israel don't have the right to defend themselves but Arabs and Muslims have the right slaughter their own and innocent people all over the world!
8. You've got to give it to Russia and Iran
Mark ,   London, UK   (06.06.13)
They stick with their allies (regardless of the human cost and the will of the people) and don't make money by arming both sides in a conflict.
10. wait till assad takes delivery then lets drop some bombs
zionist forever   (06.06.13)
We canot do anything whilst they are in Russian hands, to do so would be a declaration of war against Russia which is the last thing we need. When Russia formerly hands it over then before the Syrians are well trained in its use we can attack and destroy it or even nicer if it would be at all possible would be a repeat of Operation Rooster which was carried out in 1969 where Egypt just recieved a new radar System from Russia and Israel sent commandos into Egypt dismantled the thing and took it back to Israel to be reverse engineered. Wouldn't it be nice if we were able to send commandos to steal the S-300? Would probably make Russia want to stop giving Syria advanced weapons out of fear it would be stolen to be reverse engineered by Israel.

And have not weapons also been airlifted in by Iran (?). Meanwhile the rebels await the West to supply them with weapons to enable them to continue their fight.
12. Time to grow some.....
Moose Zoobree ,   NY USA   (06.06.13)
To the UN (United Nebisshes), Europe, and the US........ Though it is a lose/lose situation in Syria....It's time to commit, get our military assets in their...and send Putin's Navy back home or to the bottom of the sea! Though it's distasteful to assist Sunni Finatics....they seem to be a clear and better alternative than Iran, Hizbollah, and Assad.

There's no way Americans are going to back turkey/al-nusra/al-Qaeda terrorists in Syria. In fact, there's no way we can support any of the despot oil States that are destined to fall from their own corruption. Besides, we go in there and then have to rebuild everything-no way? Sunnis aren't.our friends, they've told us 1,000 times. Let the Arab league lose their money and soldiers instead.
