1. UN cheating Israel...again.
Ian ,   Newcastle upon Tyne   (06.06.13)
In 1973,as soon as the IDF recovered from the initial shock and started winning the UNSC rushed in to save the Syrian regime. They'd hung around while the IDF was on the back foot, but pushed through a ceasefire resolution when the IDF was in sight of Damascus. Now,as soon as the going gets hot,UNDOF cuts and runs. Well,if Israel is going to complain to the UN about this, let it also complain about Syria's constant violation of the infamous, unenforced UNSC resolution 1701.The UNSC rushed that one through in 2006 to cheat Israel of total victory over Hizbollah and it was supposed to prevent transfer of weaponry to Hizbollah. Now Hizbollah is armed to the teeth with weapons from Iran and Syria and kills Syrians. Iran and Syria constantly violate International Law,yet the UNSC ignores it because it has only been to Israel;s disadvantage....up until recently. THREE CHEERS FOR ISRAEL!!!
2. Time to go visit Har Bintal!

You can watch all the action from Cafe Anan!
3. UN Forces
Malone ,   Hfx   (06.06.13)
The UN troops are peaceKEEPERS,not peaceMAKERS...their job is to try, repeat try and maintain peace once it has been established...they are not a fighting force. Since peace is not likely anytime soon, they are being withdrawn, and so they should be.
4. Syrian tanks
Steve Gure USA ,   coconut creek   (06.06.13)
I do not see any purpose for the UN to be in the area at all. Israel should be in control of the area and they should be the one to remove the tanks
5. An opportunity to expand the buffer.
Stephen in New York   (06.06.13)
Aggression against the Israeli Golan will provide an opportunity to expand the buffer between Israel and the medieval savagery on the Sunni and Shiite side.
6. it's not safe for the peacekeepers?!
yoc ,   Manhattan   (06.06.13)
but it safe for Israeli to make peace and live there with their woman and children all their lives, Civilian Israelis. but here these soldiers can't to even keep watch since very very unsafe! so UN EU should move the embassies to these places if its so safe!
7. ?? Peacekeepers??
Isabella1709 ,   Tampa USA   (06.06.13)
What the devil are they there for? And why is Israel having to save wounded Syrians? Turn them over to the UN "peacekeepers". They will just stab the IDF in the back later on.
8. Alla really is akhbar
A ,   Belgium   (06.06.13)
Keep killing yourselves, moslem idiots, and make your alla happy! As your friend Roger Waters wrote, "What God wants God gets"
9. UN again ?! #1
yosef, phd ,   usa israel   (06.06.13)
How History repeats itself, again and again, since 1967 -- and neither the Russian military nor Israeli successive cowardly governments have learned an iota - and every time the price is getting higher - this is most likely the last time, both for Israeli criminal myopia and Russian stubborn stupidity. How much longer, Mashiach Tzidkeinu ?!
10. Never been in army or held a gun and am in 8th decade, but
exUK ,   Tel Aviv   (06.06.13)
I'm not really sure what is the function of the UN soldiers. When there is peace....well, there is peace and they should not have much to do except observe. But it seems that if fighting breaks out, they are unable to interfere. In 2006 when Israel left Lebanon before it had 'completed its mission', they left on the understanding that UN would observe to ensure that Hezbollah was not able to re-arm.However Hezbollah seemingly have 60,000 rockets and missiles, and are well entrenched in the border region of Lebanon. So what exactly WAS the UN doing during that time.I wish I could understand.
11. Go crying to the UN
Duke Outhouse ,   USA   (06.06.13)
These that go crying to the UN seem to be a different lot that took the Golan Heights from Syria a few years back. Now instead of pounding them into the ground, Israel is behaving like a little midget. Wwwaaannnhhh!!!
12. UN SOLDIERS-WHAT GOOD ARE THEY THEN ??
Esther ,   Selkirk Canada   (06.06.13)
WHEN THEY SHOULD BE MOVING MORE UN SOLDIERS IN... THEY MOVE THEM OUT... ABSOLUTELY PATHETIC

14. this is why israel takes care of its own security needs
zionist forever   (06.06.13)
UN peace keepers are wonderful as long as there is not any need to keep the peace because there is no aggression on either side. First sign of trouble these brave soldiers who are there to keep the peace go running home tail between their legs leaving the locals to go to war in the area they are supposed to be in to help avoid violence. This is why when it comes to things like peace treaties no matter who its with we should not let international peace keeper be responsible for our security. As far as Syrian tanks in the Golan go its nothing to worry about, they are no match for Israeli armour and they know it so they are not going to pick a fight with Israel just drive out the rebels. For now its the best thing as well because better if anybody is going to be controlling this crossing on the Syrian side it should be the enemy we know under Assads control rather than these rebels who answer to nobody.
15. That's OK, UN. go ahead and leave.
manicdrummer ,   Haifa, Israel   (06.06.13)
You're only paving the way for Russia and her allies to come to their final resting place. The wrath of The Almighty is at hand. Call me a lunatic, but I've been called worse things by better people.

19. and europe
(06.07.13)
wants the israelis to leave the jordan vally's strategic safety high areas and give them to unifil forces to protect? a joke. look at how they are protecting kuneitra on the israeli syrian border. the minute a missile goes towards the un, they pack their tails and run away. idf doesn't do that. the unifil is dumb and useless, a bunch of empty headed chickens running for their lives.
20. Syria

22. Syrian tanks
graczek ,   Maryland, USA   (06.07.13)
They will soon be rolling across the Golan to retake this land stolen from Syria in 1967, and shortly thereafter, will roll into newly liberated Tel Aviv and especially Holy Jerusalem!
23. Syrian grabbing at straws
Paul Browne ,   UK   (06.08.13)
If you think that Syria could every reoccupy the land that Israel won from them after their cowardly attack in 1967 then you really a fantacist not a fanatic.
24. 22.
Birdi ,   Israel   (06.08.13)
