1. Refugees
Mike ,   Uk   (06.06.13)
Such a disgraceful conduct, sending those poor people back over the border.
2. Let them remember
Devorah   (06.06.13)
that they came to Jews for help. And let them remember that, if Quneitra was not determined to be safe, they would have received the refuge they sought ... from Jews.
3. Syrian seek refuge in Israel
MORT-the-SPORT ,   Cote St-Luc, Qc CA   (06.06.13)
Let these people in!
4. every state must give asylum to everyone who asks for it
ivan ,   haifa   (06.06.13)
5. Damn appropriate move
Cameron ,   USA   (06.06.13)
You owe that Syrian lot absolutely nothing. They spend their whole lives playing blood enemy & wishing for your destruction, then drop to their knees and beg for aid & refuge? Ridiculous audacity. You sent that crew packing back into their mess. Yes, exactly the right move.
6. Ivan #4, no worries, just give them your address
Jake   (06.06.13)
and provide them with a self haven.
7. Ivan # 4 Yes......
Eaglebeak ,   Left Coast, USA   (06.07.13)
but only if those states are run by morons.
8. 1
(06.06.13)
really? the people you are talking about would slay a jew entering their territories without any question asked. and by the way, syria is at war with israel, in case you haven't read news for the past 65 years. why should israel be responsible for these people?
9. 3
(06.06.13)
i once lived in cote st luc for 20 years. are there still such jewish morons being born in cote st luc such as yourself? you want to let these kinds of people in, do so in cote st luc.
10. 4
(06.06.13)
in case you forgot...these are the people chanting death to jews and death to israel on a daily basis and syria is in a war mode with israel for the past 65 years. why should israel give refuge to those that want to terrorise and kill israeli jews no matter who these peole are, they are not going to get into israel. sorry. let them go to lebanon, iran or jordan or even turkey. let their muslim brothers keep them.
11. According to our Torah we are a people
Israeli 2   (06.07.13)
of G-d. We should by all means help them, shelter and feed them. We do not have to keep them forever. The same thing with any other group of people. The moment we let them live in our land with their customs, religion and habits, we will be doomed. Same with the Palis. Now they must leave.
12. To #11
Jake Stone ,   USA   (06.07.13)
Wrong! You open the floodgates...there will be no end to it!
13. To all those saying let them in
Arnold ,   Montreal-Canada   (06.07.13)
Asylum seekers are those in imminent danger. The IDF checked out the situation and deemed them not to be in imminent danger. If it changes then yes they should get temporary asylum.
14. #10:
Israeli 2   (06.07.13)
These people chant because they were told to do so by authorities and fanatics. 1) They would be shot if they didn't chant and 2) They would be given money and food for their survival. If we lose that understanding as human beings, we would lose our Jewish character.
15. Of course they did, because they know...
Nick Sporek ,   Jerusalem, Israel   (06.07.13)
... Israel isn't the bad guy. and because they know that their Arab or Persian "brothers" don't care one bit about them.
16. Never
Roman   (06.07.13)
The best decision IDF has ever taken very happy and kudos to them. As for those Syrians that want to test our resolve and determination of our intelligence they better accept what they are made of.
17. Israel shouldn't even consider taking them in.
Raymond in DC ,   Washington, USA   (06.07.13)
Look at a map. Syria borders Lebanon, Turkey, Iraq and Jordan. All four are home to their Muslim brethren, three are fellow Arab states. Syria has been in a technical state of war with Israel since 1948, and the citizenry fed on a constant diet of hatred toward Israel and Jews. "He who is compassionate to the cruel ..." Put up a field hospital in neutral border territory if you're so inclined, but not one should be taken in unless he's providing intelligence of such value as to trump the associated risk. It wasn't so long ago that Israel showed its compassionate side when infiltrators from Africa's failed states started showing up on its doorstep. That only encouraged tens of thousands to follow in their footsteps.
18. As a Montreal I can safely say...Cote St Luc
Al   (06.07.13)
is packed with morons. As a matter of fact I would invite the Syrians to invade Cote St Luc and call it a day.
19. #14 Wait...
Edwin ,   canada   (06.07.13)
...I have worked all over the Middle East and have never met a Syrian who hasn't had a raging hatred for Jews. If your thesis is true, you would think they should have modified their mantra just a little while I defended Jews and the Jewish state. In fact, at times their rage became so bad I rightly or wrongly feared for my life and I'm not Jewish. It is not like they were too frightened share with me their dislike for certain aspects of Islam or the government.
20. No Good Deed Goes Unpunished, BUT
David H ,   Marietta GA   (06.07.13)
21. every person living in a Muslim country
alsky ,   Toronto   (06.07.13)
is in danger. Should Israel let them all in ? Israel let them in, assessed the situation and returned them. Thats what a compassionate country does !!. Israel is not responsible for what goes on in Muslim lands.
22. Blunder
Rolly Heffez ,   Tampa, US   (06.07.13)
Let's see, here we have a bunch of Syrians who just last week were chanting death to Jews, death to Israel, etc. etc. These very same Syrians try to escape a raging civil war and the only people they can run to for help are the "hated" Jews. And what do we do? We send them back to the raging civil war. This has to be absolutely one of the biggest PR blunders ever committed. Nice move Bibi, you just wasted the perfect opportunity to show a bunch of Arabs that we are not so bad after all. Unbelievable!!
23. Give them Obamacare, cell phones
ASTRONAUT ,   SC, USA   (06.07.13)
Ship them to the USA where they can join the throngs of other illegals and get Obamacare, cell phones, welfare, and voting rights. Not.
24. 1 billion moslems
(06.07.13)
None of the moslem countries are free. This is not Israel's problem... Anyway for those that suggest Israel should accept these people, answer this question: Jews have lived in Israel for 3000 years, so why are no synagogues left? Let these people seek asylum in Jordan (1 hour south of Quneitra by car)
25. let in 1 and we have opened pandoras box
zionist forever   (06.07.13)
As soon as we let in one then the message it sends is we recognise there is a humanitarian problem and we know we have to intervene and take in some refugees. When they start flooding in like they have done in Lebanon, Jordan and Turkey and we say enough is enough we will have the world up in arms because Israel is sending Syrians back to die even though it admits there is a problem. As they have lost everything already there will be no incentive for the refugees to return home especially as there are large Druze communities in the Golan and arab communities in the Galilee so we will be welcomed and we will never get rid of them.
26. and then there was the case...
tom ,   toronto, canada   (06.07.13)
and then there was the case of the wounded syrian fighter, being treated in an israeli hospital, who just happened to have a live grenade in his pocket. it *only* resulted in partial evacuation of the hospital, thank god. compassion doesn't mean being stupid or putting israeli lives in unnecessary danger. so long as syria remains at war with israel, as it has been for 65 years, syrians belong on their side of the armistice line.
27. Let the Moslems take care of Moslems
Ron ,   oc us   (06.07.13)
The Arab/Moslems have 99% of the land. 99% of the oil and the oil money and there at least 22 Arab states. They can take care of their own problems. Not the Jews responsibility-al all.
28. # 22 correct
Josh   (06.07.13)
Quite true. Big PR blunder. Let them stay at least a few days, treat them very well, and then they can be returned without anyone noticing, and hopefully they'll spread the word about the good treatment they received. A missed opportunity for good PR
29. Syrian refugees....
shoshieb ,   Migdal, Israel   (06.07.13)
I quite agree with you, we don't know what their goal is and it could well be a ploy to get into Israel and cause damage - Israel has let in 3 or 4 badly wounded Syrians, and yesterday they had to vacate the hospital in Safed because one of the wounded had a hand grenade in his pocket.... Maybe if they stopped chanting death to Israel etc., then maybe the powers that be would let them into the country.... but no chance - this has been going on for 65 years....
30. #22 Infiltration of More Muslims in the North?
Annie ,   Netanya   (06.07.13)
Are the THOUSANDS who have totally taken over South Tel Aviv and made it a place where an Israeli Jew must fear for her life if she enters is not enough? Now you want to have the same problem in the North? But ev'en worse, those who pray for Israel's destruction 7 times a day and death to all Jews. They kill a Jew and celebrate, but we should save their lives? I think you really don't understand them, their media, their mentality or the level of their hatred at the Jews. PS The PR would not turn in Israel's favor because she takes in enemies, since then the world will call for them getting more money, more food, citizenship, jobs, etc etc just like with the Sudanese (who I see working in stores near me)
