1. How perfectly dreadful!
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (06.09.13)
He should leave Israel and find another place to live.
2. El AL
RK ,   Eilat   (06.09.13)
El Al's answer is a little too convenient. Lt's face it, not every Arab is a terrorist, and we go overboard, not in ensuring security, but in making it demeaning and unnecessarily impersonal. There has to be a better way to do this without compromising security.
3. #1 #2 East Jerusalem Arab says EL AL 'racist airline.
Elsie. ,   Gush Halav.   (06.09.13)
#1 Sarah, your post was perfectly dreadful, stay in America, they deserve you more than us here in Israel, you drip hated. #2, I agree with your post, you would have to have a very good argument for me to take my clothes off, not even in America they can do that. Also Sarah, can you tell me when was the last time an Arab from East Jerusalem blew up a plane??
4. #1 It really IS dreadful
the nose ,   Israel   (06.09.13)
Many of my former students, from Eastern Europe, now lawyers and academic scholars in their own right have come to visit me in Israel (I suspect that this is not because I was such a great mentor but because my apartment is near the sea and we have a spare room where they can stay for free).) All but one of my female visitors have been subjected to very personal questions, forced to turn on her computer and show their email and other correspondence and to what they described as humiliating strip searches -one with a man entering the room behind her while she was bent over with her panties around her knees. Hanna, the only woman who did not get this treatment wears a Star of David. Despite all of the improvements in technology, El Al security is more intrusive now than it was during the terrorist heydays of the early '70's. I wonder how you would react if you were subjected to similar treatment. I now recommend that my visitors take another airline as I now try to do whenever I can.
5. East Jerusalem, that's the answer right there
(06.09.13)
Few are Israeli citizens and can have any motives. I've been through extra security checks in the past before I was an Israeli citizen when flying El Al, taken to separate rooms, emptying my backs and controlling all content and checking for bomb residues etc. But I'm not inclined to yell "racism" at security checks, they do what they need to
6. Never been on an El Al flight without Arabs
Mordechai   (06.09.13)
I have never been on an El Al flight without Arabs so obviously there is something else going on. How does the writer know he was not suspected of a security offense.
7. Thousands of a-rabs fly w/ El Al w/o problems.
Oleh Chadash ,   Y'layim, ISRAEL   (06.09.13)
8. To: No. 2
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (06.09.13)
Unfortunately, there is no other way. Terrorists can approach a decent, hard-working Arab civilian and say -- do this, or we will kill your family. What do you think he's going to do? Should innocent Jews die because of this? Is it worth the risk? I don't think so. If he feels that offended, he can find another place to live. The State of Israel is in the business of protecting Jews. No risk is acceptable, or tolerable. And the ersatz "Palestinians" have only themselves to blame.
9. El Al is the safest airline in the world
Jake ,   USA   (06.09.13)
El Al does an interview with everyone at the gate, and im sure they check Arab passengers more carefully. Is it racism? Who the hell cares. If you're more concerned with racial profiling than you are with your own life, you should fly American Airlines, they will randomly check 80 year old women instead of god-forbid offending an Arab.
10. #3 US does strip search at
Sam ,   USA   (06.09.13)
airports all over US if deemed necessary as result of Arab and Muslim terrorists. We are all inconvenienced as a result; it is now a fact of life. Better safe than sorry and far better to err on side of securing safety. Searches of most all i now routine in US airports every flight daily. El Al has the best safety record in world. Many Arabs fly it daily.
11. El Al
(06.09.13)
I came to Israel in order to live with my Israeli husband. I'm a non Jew and everyday for the past eight years I am subjected to discrimination in any level of my daily life. I flew once El Al and I have never felt so humilitated in my life. The staff stripped me off of my clothes and entered my computer without my authorization. But because they're so stupid I could see they did it so I went to the police and filled a complain for violation of privacy. They tried to make a plea bargain with me but it doesn't work that way so the case is on its way to the court. Everytime I go back to Europe I am also asked questions and checked but always in a respectful manner. And everytime I fly with my husband who's Jewish nothing happens
12. To: No. 4
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (06.09.13)
I have been subjected to security checks -- yes, including stripping -- and I am eternally grateful that someone is protecting the Jewish people. By the way, I wear a Star of David. All the time. No man has ever entered the room -- I suspect you are lying about that. The best way to ensure that an airplane is not taken over by terrorists is to make certain that a terrorist never boards the flight. I fly El Al whenever I can. I do not mind the occasional personal intrusions. I am grateful for the vigilance. As should you be, too. Unless, of course, you are a terrorist. Then, you should be wary.
13. I am not an arab and I have been subjected to that same thin
zionist forever   (06.09.13)
I am not an arab I cary both Israeli and British passports when I travel and I speak both english and hebrew but I have been given the strip search treatment twice now once in England once in Israel. I later discovered that the time I was stopped in England was my hands were shaking abit and I was abit jumpy and the reason was whilst I was waiting for the gate to open I drank a little to much black coffee so I was a little hyper and they thought maybe I was nervous about something and had a secret I didn't want them to find out. I don't know why I was stopped in Ben Gurion but obviously something about me on that day made security suspicious. Although arabs are certainly considered a higher risk group for obvious reasons and are more likely to get stopped for more intense security and they are not going to tell you why they stopped you for the most part its not a race issue although this guy wants it to be one.
14. @ 1
Sheik rattle & roll ,   USA   (06.09.13)
You are a disgusting racist man or women. I hope you or your family will never experience this type of shame based on religion, race, gender or in your case pure ugliness. You are probably a mouse of a little lady or man that pretends to be tough behind a keyboard. Some of your post I respect, but this one just shows your a racist.
15. it is racist
sam ,   tel aviv, israel   (06.09.13)
My experience with El Al, as a white guy who doesn't look jewish, is that it is TOTALLY racist. A lot of really angry goy hating employees. I was subjected to a humiliating interrogation the first (and last time) i flew with them. Racist, racist, racist. And the people on the flight? As my jewish american friends says, he doesn't fly on el al because "That's where all the animals are." Bli safek.
16. #2, #4
israel israeli ,   tel aviv   (06.09.13)
#2 there is always room for improvement. Maybe we should learn from Obama's TSA? Look up Karen Kaplan, if you don't know what I mean #4 I assume you are familiar with Nesar Hindawi and Anne-Marie Murphy? I think there is a square in Ramallah named after Mr. Hindawi
17. Let's really tighten security
Bertram ,   London, UK   (06.09.13)
1. Random strip searches for everyone (not easy to identify dangerous leftist, self-hating Jews either). 2. And any Jew who doesn't like such security checks and who hold citizenship of another country (such as Sarah B) can simply go and live there (or, in the case of Sarah B, remain there).
18. THEY DIDN'T HAVE THE REQUIRED PASSPORTS
stude ham   (06.09.13)
there is no other problem here.
19. racist EL AL
tiki ,   belgium   (06.09.13)
Today you can find yourself in a same situation with every airline! As a matter of fact, with all the Muslim terrorists flying around its absolutely not racist but understandable & sensible. Maybe this man is squeaky clean but he has only his not so clean Muslim brothers to thank for it. It's sad, but it's reality!
20. Arab gripes
USA   (06.09.13)
If Arabs have complaints about how they are treated, they should first look inward, deal with their own radicals and clean house before they start blaming others.
21. #2 terrorists
Mari   (06.09.13)
I refuse to use an American airline or travel to the US for the same reason- too many fruitcakes living and travelling in the good old US of A. There is hardly a week without some nut running amok at a school, so I would pipe down Sarah. Your racist and hateful comments are getting tiresome.
22. sad story,,,but
alsky ,   Toronto   (06.09.13)
unfortunately, due to the times that we are living in Muslims, Arabs can expect more of this. I know Jews who have gone through tough times with El Al as well. Probably best for Arabs to fly with othr airlines. Most are good people but the radicals have ruined it for all of us !
23. Arabs are the racists and haters!
Phoenix ,   Israel   (06.09.13)
Arabs sre the word kind of Jewish haters and one of the number one enemies of Israel and the Jews. What do you want? To be treated as our friends? We are too nice and stupid to let Arabs live among us while you hate us and are contantly planing how to destroy us. Why do you complain? We are enemies! We will hate the one that hate us and we have the obligation to hate the Arab enemy. Go all to hell with your complains! You have no shame!
24. Better humiliation than a funeral
Koose E Mack ,   NY USA   (06.09.13)
Everyone is subject to "humiliating searches" in every country...Israel is no exception. If you can't subject yourself to these searches don't expect to fly out of any major airport.
25. Sarah B #1
Dovid Sender ,   NJ   (06.09.13)
sarah: you're right. Hopefully you wont let us due to some pinhead remarks. Heightened security is a blessing, esp in Israel. My wife used to work at BG in security, som im a bit prejudiced. Ive also been screened flying to Israel a few times, including by machine gun toting Germans in Frankfurt. I was not offended. Ive been grilled in Newark, NJ, also on the way to Israel (alone, without my israeli wife), as I spoke Hebrew without an Israeli passport! The next time I flew, the security agents enlisted my wife and I in a security drill!
26. Arabs are at war with us, they are destroying
Yossef   (06.09.13)
everything around. You cannot hope we'll be that nice. Maybe later when the danger will be over and every Arab in the region will accept Israel for what it is: the land of the Jews. Until then better sorry than dead.
27.  Better safe than sorry.
ORA ,   JERUSALEM   (06.09.13)
28. SAUDI ARABIA
DANNY TAWIL ,   ENGLAND   (06.09.13)

29. These kind of control can happen in
