The fact that El Al is such a safe airline to fly when every terrorist would give their eye teeth to murder Israeli/Jewish passengers - and incidentally anyone else travelling El Al - is testimony to the professionalism of it's security personnel. Since world-wide the threat of terrorism originates overwhelmingly from arabs/muslims and those who would knowingly or unknowingly do their bidding, it's only to be expected that this group in particular are disproportionately singled out in this way, though unfortunately along with a minority of other passengers. Exactly. El Al is not in charge of the security at Ben Gurion Airport. A private security firm has the contract for this. El Al is the name of the carrier=the plane. El Al is the national carrier of Israel. There is security at the airport for every single passenger whether he is flying El Al or Singapore Airlines. All the passengers departing from Ben Gurion International Airport go through security checks.

and at the time I was absolutely livid! I had helped her into terminal 1 at Ben Gurion and told the security I was not travelling,only helping to carry her stuff.. She was help for 2 hours and searched.However when I had calmed down,I realised that a single female in her mid 30's alone,and with some Arab stamps (from work) on her passport,would perhaps give a suspicious profile for drugs or Arab connections. It is unfortunate that because of 9/11 and other happenings,it gives every Arab a bad time.However if they spent equal suspicion time with ALL travellers,no flights would take off! Only on every flight I have made starting back in 1972. I speak Arabic as well as Hebrew and English, so guess what I get all their attention - even when I was still in the Zahal. I love Israel but El Al are the worst airline in the world! No customer service and friendliness at all! I prefer to travel on other airlines. This new Open Skies agreement will allow all airlines to land in Israel making El AL very worried as they don't understand this customer service which is basic all around the world. People prefer other airlines! :)

Oh I see these Arab lawyers with their black suits daily on Jaffa street. Sitting in Israeli coffee chains and other eateries that were opened by Israelis, walking in such a cocky attitude as if they are such an integral part of Jerusalem center and always have been. They forget that they are newcomers to an area which has been part of Israel since 1948 and was developed by Israel and has been the center of Jewish Jerusalem for decades. It reflects Israeli lifestyle, not Arab lifestyle and until a year or too Arabs didn't visit it. But recently they "discovered" it and act as if it's always been their natural environment, and the Israeli lifestyle is so natural to them, instead of Arab east Jerusalem where they grew up. It's their cocky attitude that I don't like. Most are not even citizens, let alone went to the army or contributed anything else to the country. So seeing them walking in the area that was built and developed by Israel as if they so belong there is irritating. It's only when they leave Jerusalem they are reminded that they are the guests, not the salt of the earth in Israel.
