1. We'll negotiate IF...
Jordan Ariel ,   USA   (06.13.13)
Shaath (who looks like Dr. Evil from Austin Powers) is basically saying we will get back to the negotiating table if you give us everything we want. NO.
2. Thee will be no negotiatng
Dror ,   Haifa, Israel   (06.13.13)
with the God of Israel. When He decides your time is up, your time is up. Now is when the Arabs lose their grip completely on our Lands.. We will be parting ways very soon. Even if soon means a time span of 20-30 years.
3. It's tiring to see how the Palestinians still don't get it.
robert r ,   belgium   (06.13.13)
The Arabs lost all the wars against Israel, all of them. Time and again the're being told to make peace, and they always come back with their irrealist demands, starting new violence, and losing again. Another decade like this, and there will be no place left to call Palestine, besides Gaza.
4. Don't do us any favors Sir
Sagi   (06.13.13)
Negotiations are for the purpose of agreeing on all points. There is no such thing as "preconditions", especially for those who have consistently lost all the wars and battles and attempts to destroy us and annihilate us and indeed erase us from history and reality.
5. How Incredibly Benevolent!
Bill Foonman ,   Jacksonville USA   (06.13.13)
"PA wiling to resume talks on basis on 1967 borders." That's a non-starter so why waste any more time on this issue. In fact, the Palestinians already have everything they are going to get.
6. So lets start with the 67 borders...
Jacob E ,   Holon, Israel   (06.13.13)
So lets start with the 1967 borders... They're unrealistic. Now lets move on. The Palestinians are the only group of people in the history of the world to lose 3 wars and over half a century of conflicts and still think they can make preconditions about anything. They're right though. If the settlements keep expanding there won't be any place left for a Palestinian state. That's why they should drop preconditions and come to the table now and not later. Though I also do not have a problem with freezing construction. If the Palestinians F-up the talks, and they probably will, the construction will resume with accelerated force. The term "political prisoner" applies only to prisoners who have not committed or advocated violence. I don't have a problem with releasing any such prisoners, especially if it is into a palestinian state with actual borders. He says they are doing "the utmost" to prevent another intifada... I'm sure they are... it didn't turn out too well for them in the last 2. They probably can't afford the casualties of a third intifada. The palestinians also need to realize that Jerusalem is our capital and that it is a united city. The only reason it was ever divided is because of the 67 borders. But... smile! Since it is our capital, you are welcome to have an embassy there.
7. Questions to Mr. Shaath
israel israeli ,   tel aviv   (06.13.13)
Who do you represent apart from yourself and you Swiss bank account? By what authority do you want to negotiate? Do you represent the 81% of Arabs who support Hamas? Do you represent the PLO that declares that all negotiations are null and void? I have an idea. First, have free and fair elections to the PLO National Congress according to Article 33 and erase Articles 2, 15, 19, 20, 21, 22 and 23 of PLO Charter. Then, have free and fair elections in the PA to see who really supports PLO. Then give us a public announcement that 95% of the PA representatives will agree to whatever the result of the negotiations is. This is not a precondition: this is just to establish that you are more than a corrupt nobody puppet.
8. "We are not negotiting with you".
Michel ,   Ashkelon   (06.13.13)
They are clearly announcing that they are not going to negotiate, only to impose preconditions. So stop loosing our time with them and stop sustaining their economy, sending electricity, water, medicine and more.
9. Shaath :( the fool same as the rest of them)
KK ,   Israel /uk   (06.13.13)
Well, he can dream can't he . That he will not get his wish is apparent. Wen will these Arabs learn. The only thing they know is an unachievable demanda. the answer is NO You wanna talk get down and sit around the table and discuss .
10. Palestinians want Jerusalem for now,the rest of Israel later
Sam ,   Canada   (06.13.13)
Palestinians want the 1967 borders now because they want Jerusalem for themselves and the rest of the Arab world. Later, they want the rest of Israel through a right of return which is also a red line for them. They want a freeze not for peace but because they simply want to keep Jews from moving in further. In other words, there is nothing new about peace here. There is just the Palestinians trying to manipulate the process until they can get rid of the Jews.
11. Negotiations must start at the Balfour Mandate borders.
BUTSeriously ,   Sydney   (06.13.13)
12. Palestinians want Jerusalem for now,the rest of Israel later

13. Saath - wish in one hand
Gee ,   Zikron Yaakov   (06.13.13)
And defecate in the other and see which one fills up first. The 1967 borders are the same today as they were in 1948. So yes we accept that the border is the Jordan River and you Arab colonists need to leave our lands
14. Who does this guy think he is
Morton Weinstein   (06.13.13)
15. Changes in the Temple Mount are unacceptable
Noodles ,   Coney Island   (06.13.13)
What changes? Is Israel actually thinking about asserting it's rightful sovereignty over the place? I didn't think so.
16. No Interest In Negotiations
ACortez ,   Anaheim, CA, USA   (06.13.13)
They know they'll never get their people to sign off on any agreement so they believe they will force the Jews into a 1 state solution. This will be a costly decision for the arabs.
17. Resume peace talks now!
Mark ,   Cleveland USA   (06.13.13)
Resume talks, before the settlers and their supporters build so many settlements that there is nothing left for an Arab state. We should share Jerusalem since the Temple does not stand there yet. Dying and killing over a holy pile of stones is stupid. Or we can consider a secular state, with a strong separation of synagogue (church) and state, where both groups live together, under one flag. Religion shouldn't be used as an excuse to steal, hate and kill, like both sides are doing now.
18. NO
Cipora Julianna Kohn   (06.13.13)
israel will not negotiate with a group of terrorists who forget that israel is a sovereign state. when these terrorists, who were never sovereign, and who never had a legal claim on any part of the land of israel, wake up and understand that they are the party that claims a state, while the jewish state of israel is a full fledged sovereign, then maybe we shall get somewhere.
19. Israel, Israeli
(06.13.13)
look who's talking about corruption and making moral to its neighbours... the kettle calling the pot black...
20. Not a way to approach peace talks
Get Real ,   UK   (06.13.13)
No pre-conditions except for.... Then he implies the threat of another intifada, the end of talks, a push towards another conflict etc And is Israel expected to make concessions on security and ignore the Hamas terrorist threat and their calls for the destruction of Israel?
21. It's hard to decide
Mira ,   Vienna   (06.13.13)
if they are so dumb or just mischieves? What exactly do they NOT understand about NO PRECONDITIONS?
22. #3, they actually do get it
Alan Eigenstein ,   Edgewater, NJ USA   (06.13.13)
they've learned that if they say "no" long enough, the rest of the world pressures Israel to make concessions without reciprocation. So the PLO has learned that all they need to do is keep saying no until they get everything they want. Whether it takes 100 years of saying no, what does it matter to the PLO leadership? The longer the deadlock, the more money the PLO leaders get to pocket. And they care nothing whatsoever for the population they're supposed to represent. For Abbas & Co., their actions are totally rational for their personal interests are best served the longer the deadlock continues. That will not change until the rest of the world stops their support for the PLO's stonewalling and corruption.
23. That's called a pre-condition Nabil.
tiki ,   belgium   (06.13.13)
24. Israel agrees to start with the lines establised in 1967
Eric ,   Tel Aviv & NY   (06.13.13)
Israel has said it will not go back to the 1948 armistice lines (which the Palestinians are calling the 1967 lines), but Israel will go to the lines established in 1967.
25. liar, liar pants on fire...
(06.13.13)
26. Keep dreaming
Shalom ,   Ashdod, IL   (06.13.13)
Try this line on your Arab friends who will believe anything. Do us a favor and do not negotiate. Now, what is your next move? Another intifada? What did the previous one give you? Aba Eban was right, Arabs never waste an opportunity to waste an opportunity
27. Good news, they are not coming.
leo ,   usa   (06.13.13)
28. So in other words they won't return
Artie ,   NYC   (06.13.13)
They want everything before they sit down so they can ask for more that hey will never get.
29. 1967 borders
Dr. Eliezer Ramon ,   Tel aviv/ Israel   (06.13.13)
Arab propaganda managed to create the paradigma that the 1967 line was a border , while in fact , and recognized by international law , it is o n l y an A R M I S T I C E LINE. And - Judea and Samaria had never been a Palestinian state , but a conquered territory by Jordan 1948 . Let us stick to F A C T S.
30. The parties have agreed, in writing, that all talks will be
Jehudah Ben-Israel ,   Qatzrin, Israel   (06.13.13)
based on UN Security Council Resolution, 242, 1967; and, will be conducted in a direct way and without any preconditions. One of the issues to be discussed are the future boundaries, to be located according to UNSC Resolution, 242, as "secured and recognized boundaries", to be reached through negotiations and not through a dictate by any of the parties to the Arab Israeli conflict. To demand as precondition the future boundaries is nothing short of a dictate, made by the loosing party to the conflict, and this shall not pass by us, Jews, within and without the liberal democratic and sovereign nation-state of the Jewish people, Israel!!!!!
