4. The Spirit of Wisdom
Adam Neira ,   Paris, France   (06.15.13)
May the spirit of wisdom rest on the shoulders of President Rohani and Ayatollah Khomenei in the coming crucial days and weeks.

6. Good news
Harri ,   EU   (06.15.13)
This is good news for a change. He may not have all the necessary power to make a change, but Iranian people have shown their wisdom for less hawkish politics. Now the Iranian hawks know that they don't have support of the people, and that makes the saber rattling more difficult for every hawk in and around Iran.
7. Obama has found a perfect pawn
CJK   (06.15.13)
now that a so-called moderate shia cleric has been elected as president of the shia terror entity, iran will go nuclear with the blessing of obama.
8. Very dangerous ....
Michael Redbourn ,   Arad   (06.15.13)
Rohani will have "constructive' talks with the world while the centrifuges keep turning :-( The Khomeini is is charge and can now hide behind a friendly face ;-(
9. Still gotta take out the centrifuges...a little riskier now
Noodles ,   Coney Island   (06.16.13)
Difficult, not impossible.
10. Will the Rev Guards and Hezbollah Strike?
Noah Lev ,   Los Angeles USA   (06.16.13)
Noodles is right, the centrifuges are still spinning, each announcement more of them..headed towareds 90% enrichment..to put into the core of a nuke bomb, loaded onto hundreds of Shihabs, all facing little Israel. Or as one Iranian militant leader said, its only 1 bomb and thats all for Israel. The real question is the head cheese..the big wampam in the turban. Will he do away with Ahmads nuke ambition (along with the Rev Guards and bring back the thugs from Iraq, Syria, and Lebanon, thus opening up Iran to the west and doing away with the biting sanctions? Or wil he say the right things..to the West, while winking at the Supreme Leader. Time will tell?. But Ahmad, and soon Assad are memories, , Arafat in his grave, Abbas going no where, along with Goering, Himmler, Heydrich, Rosenberg, and General Stoop, all history, but their memories among millions still linger. Will we see Rev Guards tranks go into the streets? Will the MB in Egypt and Hamastan, send troops against the majorrty?.If so, will Obama sit back and lose Iran twice while spying on decent US citizens and watching his spokespersons excuse away the scandals?
11. Khamenei makes it crystal clear
CJK   (06.16.13)
"A vote for any of these candidates is a vote for the Islamic Republic and a vote of confidence in the system." Anyone who claims that the elections in Iran were democratic or that they will change the policies of the Islamic Republic, is self deluded. The terror state of Iran will continue to develop its nuclear weapons program; it will continue its anti-Western policies, including the export of terror; it will continue its support for all of its terror proxies, including Hezbollah, Assad, Iraqi Shia; it will continue its goal of destroying the Jewish State of Israel. Meanwhile, the West, with Obama as its titular head, will continue to appease the Shia terror entity.
12. What an obvious farce. Iran needs a regime change.
Jake ,   USA   (06.16.13)
13. Watch for obama and the rest...
Malone ,   Hfx   (06.16.13)
of the naive lefties demand easing of sanctions now that Iran has a "moderate" president...khameni still rules the roost and we all know he's no moderate..rohani is basically a puppet who will show a softer face to the rest of the world....nothing has changed.
14. Great Victory
Zechariah   (06.16.13)
This is a Great Victory for Peace Loving Iranian People who want the Wholesome Humanitarian Islam Strict but Fair.If it Holds it could be a great victory against War.A Armistance Like Russia and The USA is now more likely at least for half a Decade .
15. Seeing a difference between a Moderate & a Reformist?
Alan ,   Canada   (06.16.13)
The new president is called a Moderate. He was the lone candidate the supporters of reform could find as "less bad" among the 8 hand picked candidates of the supreme Ayatollah Khomenei in an election which was close to a single party election typical of dictatorships. Assuming this Moderate president is willing to become a Reformist what can he really achieve when Foreign Policy & energy resources are entirely under control of radical Khomeini who also enjoys the support of the army? It appears not much without a confrontation against the hardliners who would easily use violence to keep him in check or even get rid of. There is a risk for the West that the radicals who hold the real power in Iran will use the new president as a smokescreen to keep us believing there is a diplomatic resolution in sight to the nuclear question, while using the extra time to further the development of missiles & nuclear weapons
16. What a JOKE! There's no free elections in Iran.
D   (06.16.13)
The Mullahs run the country! This is a JOKE!!!
17. Will the Guards and Hezbollah Intervene?
NoahLev ,   Los Angeles USA   (06.16.13)
The key here is not the elections, which Ahmad will claim were rigged against the conservatives...as par of a Jew, US, Zionist, West, conspiracy. Syria, now seeing US heavy arms gong to the rebels..and perhaps troops may send its militants to aid Ahmad's cronies. The MB in Egypt is problematic..can swing both ways. Turkey is on the verge of splitting.. some favor Assad, others the rebels. Israel is caught in the middle of course, with nothng to gain anyway it goes. Watch the Rev Guards guys..and Hezbollah units...for a test of the USAs will to end the Caliphate and bring democracy to that part of the planet, as best as possible.

21. What are they so happy about?
Nothing will change   (06.16.13)
22. ayatollah Komeni is still in charge of army and nukes!
zad   (06.16.13)
The fact that Rohani is elected President will change nothing in Iran as long as Komeni is the supreme leader above the law and in charge of the army and nukes. So please don't deceive yourselves, Rohani's victory is like shaving your hair and beard which will grow again after a few days. Iran is still the same as long as it has ayatollah Komeni.
23. @16 AIPAC does run U.S. what's the issue here?
