Why do they refer to Rabbi Ovadia Yosef as "Shas' spiritual leader"? He is not. He is Shas' political leader disguising his political greed behind Torah.

It is time that ANYBODY who spits, throws water, hurls chairs, trips people, riots, burns garbage receptacles - ARE GRABBED BY THE NECK AND DETAINED so that the Israel Police can escort them to JAIL and have them charged with criminal battery. When are we, as religious Jews, going to DEMAND an end to this behavior. Yes, the RCA did the right thing. And yes Rav Yosef needs to do teshuva. But this anonymous army of violent yeshiva buchers needs to be stopped dead in its tracks.

This atheist has had it over his head with an incorrigible Ovadia Yosef. The rav is a shame on Israel and his advanced age doesn't suffice to reform him. Now I see that American rabbis are much smarter than many Israeli ones.

The RCA affiliated rabbis sit on mixed boards, men and women, with reform and conservative clergy. They have no problem with women rabbis and even with the WOW desecrators of the Kotel. Avi Weiss and his ilk are members of the RCA and Dov Lipman was invited as main speaker. These few highlights can give you a glimpse of who the RCA is.

Monday, June 17th, 2013 Rehovot Chief Rabbi HaGaon HaRav Simcha HaKohen Kook Shlita addressed a kenos of rabbonim from around Israel, chareidim and dati leumim alike. The following is one of the comments he made. Rav Kook spoke of the fact that if Rav Kook ZT”L could ever imagine a day when the Rabbanut could reach a level, a level that some get up and announce one does not need kabolas mitzvos to convert to Judaism, adding such a person denies Har Sinai…” These comments were made in reference to the candidacy of Rabbi David Stav, albeit without mentioning the rav by name. Following the kenos, Rav Stav was interviewed by the secular media and asked if he would permit one to convert that does not accept Torah and mitzvos. The rav stated this was part of the process and a person unwilling to live a life of adhering to Torah and mitzvos cannot convert.

Moe, just because you don't like the RCA, doesn't mean they are wrong in their statement. Do YOU think what Ovadia Yosef said was OK? Do you think the thugs at the wedding were doing right? There is no way around it. From a civil standpoint, this was Incitement to do harm! A criminal offense in most places. From a religious standpoint this was Lashon Hara and sinaat Chinam if there ever was a prime example. Just because you don't like the message, doesn't mean the message is wrong!

Pretty sad that even rashaim and chilonim (as you claim about the RCA) know Torah better than rav yussuf wouldn't you say?

I have always believed that Jewish law is based on ethics and the love of your fellow man. How can a so called "rabbi" behave in such an unethical way toward a man of the Book? Aren't we, as Jews, supposed to help one another and give to one another? Aren't we supposed to protect one another? Isn't this the essence of the 613 commandments? Shame on you Ovadia Yosef!!!!!!!

Once again the orthodox movements show that they have no right to claim they are the ligitimate form of Judaism. Their leaders are people of hate and their people are haters. That is not the torah I was taught.
