1. Why wash the dirty linen in public ?
ORA ,   JERUSALEM   (06.19.13)
These cases are most probably exceptions and deteriorate the image of the IDF,of whom we are so proud .

These reports are made public because a) the IDF is held accountable to our elected representatives and our elected representatives are required to know how the IDF is addressing complaints. b) the IDF is a moral army and it all starts w/ keeping our own house in order. c) an army that does not address soldier grievances is not an effective army. d) we are a democracy upheld by the rule of law. e) u want more examples?
3. Really?
To Ora ,   Israel/USA   (06.19.13)
As a mother of who's child may be serving in the IDF I have a right to know what goes on. IDF is a public sector not a private one and such acts must be exposed. Perhaps if your child was left to sleep on the train platform or was assaulted by a military physician as was reported last week, you would reconsider.
4. 1&2 Don"t get me wrong...
ORA ,   JERUSALEM   (06.19.13)
Of course evil acts in the IDF must be dealt with. I meant to say it should not appear in the newspaper to avoid feeding antisemitism in the foreign media. I hope what we read in Ynet are isolated cases.

#3 what is your point? "may be serving" yeah, when your kid puts on a uniform then you can say something. Until then I hope the ombudsman publishes more and more. as for me, I have served and carried the burden. #4 We have a right to know. If we followed your thinking Israel would look like N. Korea. Shhh, don't show any dissent....
6. Learn to read!
#5   (06.19.13)
I guess reading is not your best skill. Read my post again. I was addressing ORA and advocating for this information TO be published and NOT hidden as she had suggested. My child may or may not serve because she still has a decade to go before she reaches that age and as a dual citizen may choose to go to college in US. am not a fortune teller and that is why I chose the word 'may'.
