Mcain. How does training and sending weapons to Jihadis bring about peace? I hope the idiots supporting these foreign terrorists in Syria enjoy the blowback they will receive.
3. That's nice
Gee ,   Zikron Yaakov   (06.23.13)
Just because you want something and think it is important - doesn't mean that it is either going to happen or that others are going to agree. The Arabs need to resolve their own problems.
4. I am not sure whether the US is being led by the "emir" or..
Persian CAT   (06.23.13)
it's the other way around. In any case the level of hypocrisy coming from the US and its Arab puppets is alarming. Obama is wasting his dwindling credibility to get the establish the Muslim Brotherhood as the ruling party of Syria. The blow back will be horrendous. Russia, Iran and the Hezb are going to come out of this as the winners. No wonder Israel is sitting this one out, despite the occasional noise making by Bibi and company. The is one smart decision by the Zionista, I would say.
5. Then...stop fuelling the war.
Peter Morris ,   New Zealand   (06.23.13)
The last region you want weapons in the hands of unnofficial groups is the Middle East. To Kerry and his cohorts this is just a play ground. Kerry couldn't care one bit about the rebels as long as they are so foolish he is happy they kill each other. Time for rebels to get smart and call for a cease fire. If they do win Israel and US will finish them off under the pretext of safe guarding chemicals.
6. No kidding Kerry...what was your first clue?

Ricky ,   The Bronx   (06.23.13)
These are the kind of peoples, principalities, nations, groups and leaders that G-d will and is judgeing right this very second. These entities haven't the courage, conviction nor sense of justice to cinclude that ASSAD MUST GO and that this is a time sensitive issue, ASSAD MUST GO. Why hasen't G-d stepped into the picture? Because I believe there are so many that are in the way with their own personal agenddas and these are certainly peoples being judged. Why is Assad so important here in this region and to whom? Naerly 100,000 dead, men, women and children an actual Holocaust in every sense of the word. Surely ASSAD MUST GO.
9. And in all this the EU still will not label
DT ,   TA Israel   (06.23.13)
Hezbullah a terrorist organization. What does that tell any normal being? Comments welcome I
10. Syria
David Powell ,   Everett, Wa. USA   (06.23.13)
Obama and Kerry needs to butt out. As Sara Pailin has said "let allah sort things out". In other words, let them in Syria kill each other off.
11. What is Theresa Heinz's/Tide Foundation's View?
Boena   (06.23.13)
Enquiring minds want to know. (Well, not really....)
12. The USA has been in a war in the ME since the '90s
Dee Bee ,   Israel   (06.23.13)
And, Secretary Kerry, you still don't understand the Arab/Muslim mentality! When are you and the EU going to wake up and realize that in Islam, whether it is in Syria, Lebanon, Egypt, the Maghreb, West and East Africa, or Pakistan human life has no value and all that counts is power? If your "allies"in the Gulf, most of whom are potentates who don't care a damn about anything else but power, want to stop Assad from the slaughter of his people, then why don't they send in their armies to do it? Mr. Secretary, this is an Arab problem and let them sort it out which is probably the will of most of the people of the USA!
13. US looking to install yet another Muslim Brotherhood gov't
Noodles ,   Coney Island   (06.23.13)
right on the borders of Israel at any price. One has to question the motives and sanity of the Obama regime and it's evil henchmen.
14. Putin and Obama
israel israeli ,   tel aviv   (06.23.13)
In Ireland, Putin begged Obama to work with him and stop the bloodshed, through negotiations without preconditions. Obama agreed to negotiate on the condition that he receive all his demands before negotiations start. I always felt that Obama hated Israel as part of his Leftist upbringing, but I never saw this coming.
15. 13, what is the difference?!
CJK   (06.23.13)
between the muslim brotherhood and the assad regime? why are all of you thinking that the genocidal assad regime, backed by iran, would be better than the muslim brotherhood? personally, I think that the assad regime must be defeated and assad killed.

If they want a political solution both the US & Russia should agree between themselves that neither will send weapons to either side but they will send humanitarian aid to both sides. Let them slug it out and when one side is forced to surrender, even if its Assad then both the US & Europe will agree to recognize that as a legitimate government and discuss with the new government. The people will have decided through war. The US & Russia should also tell Assad straight there will be no more weapons to anybody but if you use chemical weapons even in small quantities we will intervene and bring you down. If everybody is telling Assad the same thing and he believes he can win if the rebels are not getting any outside help then he will almost certainly not use the things. Its a civil war, not a war of aggression, Assad is the legitimate government and the west should not be getting involved potentially making things worse long term.
