Really doesn't get to the point at all. OK it's fun to have a jibe at the ridiculously obvious conclusion of working during the day and resting during dark hours etc but really Raanan, heat and 32 degrees has got nothing to do with it at all. It's hot near the equator too but no daylight savings time there because they can't get any useful advantage out of it. You see Raanan, it's all about the number of light and dark hours in different seasons, no matter if it's cold or hot. It's all about geographical latitude. Nothing more, nothing less.
3. What exactly do you gain
Peter   (06.24.13)
by extending DST if it doesn't save a buck because you need light in the morning before going to work/school? Some studies have proven that switching to DST has consumers using more power and paying bigger electric bills. But as the saying goes, one fool follows the other. After all, Israel is trying hard to be like the rest of the world, even if it doesn't make sense.
4. Try telling that to the Palestinian peace negotiators
(06.24.13)
They don't seem to have got the message yet. Lets hope that they do some time soon.
5. Thanks

Great article! I apprecaite the puns and wit.
6. DST should be eliminated
Boris ,   Rehovot   (06.24.13)
In the age of electric lighting, it serves no useful purpose, and in the age of ubiquitous and interconnected electronics relying on accurate timekeeping, it introduces amazing amounts of complexities and malfunctions.
7. Sarcasm

The lowest form of journalism.
8. Before Israel

can fit into the "Mankind for peace and not war", she has to first of all understand that Man is adjusted more to harmony rather than to strife.
9. I am more naturally adjusted to darkness

10. Maybe Raanan can organise me an opposite
Shachar ,   Eilat   (06.25.13)
daylight-saving clock for Eilat. In Eilat it's too damn hot to do anything during the day in summer and during the winter we have beautiful weather but the day is too short! So could we please have short days during the summer and long days during the winter!?
11. Indoors it is always dark
Dan ,   Kefar Saba   (09.21.13)
I have worked in doors for over 40 years and I work by artificial light. During the winter I don't see any light, and in the summer I see it in both the morning and evening. It does not matter to me if there is an extra hour in the evening OR the morning.
12. Why DST?
Dan ,   K"S   (09.21.13)
AFAIK DST began during WWII to save electricity - when most of the electricity was used for lighting. What studies show the use of electricity in the day of air conditioning and heating? Cool down a home early and run A/C for an extra hour a day is wasteful.
