1. So according to the author, the antisemitic stance of the so
tom ,   tel aviv   (06.25.13)
called "World" has to be fought with Israeli capitulation in the face of Arab terror and occupation of our Land? A Judeo-Dhimmi to the bone!
2. Talking is a great idea
Dov   (06.25.13)
They should talk and talk until they turn blue and then start talking all over again.
3. Excuse me...
Susan   (06.25.13)
Antisemitism is the oldest living hate to survive on earth. Some including myself feel it is innate. To say that if a Jew gives more, a Jew will be loved, accepted and no longer boycotted (for example) laughs in the face of historical fact. When innocent men women and children are being slaughtered at the rate of 10,000 per month (rough figure) in Syria yet during this year long rampage by Bashar Assad, antisemitism is at an all time high proves, no matter what a Jew does, a Jew is hated. When the Arab media is full of antisemitism while those respective countries continue to oppress their citizens and the world yawns, proves my point. When still to this day Jews are fearful of antisemetic backlash it is high time Jews themselves stand up and demand the Christian world put an end to BDS. High time so-called main line Churches speak out about the rampage set upon the Arab/Muslim world by MUSLIMS/Arabs themselves and start leaving innocent Jews alone. Stop the divestment and speak out against the real villains. We we did not kill Christ and I am sick to death of having this unending hate for Jews sit at the feet of that asinine belief. Stop blaming us while turning a blind eye to ever other kind of man made hate which befalls the human race. Thank you and I hope YNET publishes this.
4. Nahum Barnea, "You of little faith..."
Steve Klein   (06.25.13)
5. Disagree Completely.
Israeli 2   (06.25.13)
The author is submissive and complacent. The author wants to satisfy others - anyone just to love us. This will make Israel always a looser. We are no independent nation and he is happy with it as long as the rest are happy.
6. There needs to be an end to arrogance
Dave ,   Sao Paulo, Brazil   (06.25.13)
Israel and Israelis cannot continue acting arrogantly and ignorning international demands. The settlements and the prevention of Palestinians to have full independece in their internationally recogninzed territories must end. The BDS movement and other forms of hostility against Israel will only go stronger if Israel does not meet the international community's demands: end to settlements and Palestinian sovereignity in their recognized lands. Status of settlers, Jerusalem, and refugees would then be negotiated. Israel has everything to be very well integrated internationally and could be a model country due to its democracy and humanitarian aid. The writer's view of the leftists is simply pathetic, as if they have somehow an irrational hatred and the apartheid regime in South Africa and the military occupation of Palestinians have no reason to be condemned.
7. Talks?? We're done talking. Time for action. Withdraw to 67
Ramzi Jaber ,   Palestine   (06.26.13)
NOW then we can talk peace, nation to nation.
8. #7 Stop ruining your future
Ed ,   Canada   (06.26.13)
You tried this approach for 65 years. You tired eliminating Israel many times. You tired complaining to everyone in the world. None of this worked. And now, when you finally have a chance to talk and make an impact on your future, you prefer to act like a spoiled kid and once again let others decide your future for you. Grow up!
9. This view is extremely naive
mira ,   nyc   (06.26.13)
BDS-ers such as Alice Walker are simply anti-semitic to the core. There is nothing that Israel can do to stop the hate, other than to cease to exist, which obviously will never happen. There is no appeasement with hate-mongers.
10. No 7
mira ,   nyc   (06.26.13)
You are not in a position to make demands, or haven't you noticed that Arabs have never won any war they have fought against Israel. You are in this position because you LOST in 67. Palestinian unwillingness to compromise, which your post exemplifies, is the only reason that the conflict continues to this day.
11. Nonsense, self immolation does not save from fire.
Miron ,   USA   (06.26.13)
12. Worst kind of crackpot "advice" - Israel need offer NOTHING.
Dr. L. Brnd ,   San Diego, USA   (06.26.13)
Israel has gotten exactly nothing - zero - for its numerous past offers of prisoner releases, unfrozen tax monies, construction concessions or VIP privileges for Abbas and his clique. This practice of "sweeteners" must stop. The undeniable fact that Israel must declare as loudly as possible is that Abbas and his PLO are not a legitimate negotiating partner. They are incapable of reciprocating anything Israel concedes to them. With half the "Palestinians" ruled by Hamas in Gazastan, a Hamas that adamantly and consistently rejects rights of and ever recognizing the legitimacy of Jewish Israel, regardless of borders, or ever offering more than one of those phony and temporary Islamic "hudnas" as its idea of "land-for-peace" - what exactly, Nahum, is the point of negotiations, or maintaining the illusion that the Arabs are negotiating in good faith? No more gestures to Abbas. Israel should freeze talks, not construction, and tell Abbas he can return to the negotiating table when he speaks for all "Palestinians", not just half. What - Israel should give Abbas a WB state while the Gazans keep fighting for even more? That can be the only outcome of "negotiations" under the current circumstances. Right, Nahum?
13. Why Surrender?
Sane ,   Tel Aviv   (06.26.13)
Our enemies haven't won. There is no reason to surrender on the threat of the BDS movement, or any other anti-Semitic actions. If the peace process is good for Israel, it should be sold with the benefits, not by threats. If we surrender, then the demands will just keep coming, until we are gone.
14. Ramzi 7
alsky ,   Toronto   (06.26.13)
you dont get a second chance to re write history. Reform Islam and accept Israel as the homeland of the Jews. then we can ''talk''
15. Who has succumbed to BDS nonsense?
Mark ,   London, UK   (06.26.13)
I'd like to know so I can boycott them and ensure they don't win any contracts I can influence. If I held shares in any such companises I would want to dump them in favour of companies who stand up for what is right.
16. #6 dave - correct
solomon ,   bklyn   (06.26.13)
Except you have it backwards. The arabs, those who have tried to kill the Jews from before there was Israel, those who insisted they are not “Palestinian” (until they changed their minds in the 1960’s), those who are sworn to destroy Israel (ever hear of Hamas, and Hezbollah, and the PA?) are acting arrogantly. Yes, listen to the international community, that same community that made sure that the Oslo accords would specify that Israel would not go back to the 1948 borders! (The ’67 borders are ok by me; those ’67 borders of July ’67). “Palestinian” is a fairy tale; your “recognized lands” are a fairy tale. You are very-late late comers, and you act like children, wanting it all, thinking that the international community will give you what you tried to take by yourselves, and couldn’t. The sooner you join thinking human beings, the sooner all this will end.
17. #7 ramzi - Talks?
solomon ,   bklyn   (06.26.13)
What talks? You run away any time an agreement is close. You want Israel to withdraw to ’48 lines? (calling them ’67 lines is like calling yourself a “Palestinian”; fake). Then talk peace, not the threats you send out like clockwork, not the hate you drown yourselves in , not the fairy tales you spout.
18. BDS sybolism NOT a reality
Yardena   (06.26.13)
For years now, the BDS movement has failed to enact any boycott against, or divestment from, Israel. Not once has it harmed Israel’s pockets or stature. Not once has it benefitted Palestinians, let alone the cause of peace, because it rejects entirely the concept of peace between a Jewish state of Israel and an Arab state of Palestine. Most people who support the BDS movement have never met an Arab. Their obsessions are directed towards western civilization, market economies, and a passionate left wing antisemitism.
19. Susan, what a great and well written comment
I commend you!   (06.26.13)
20. You err !.
Arn. ,   Sweden.   (06.26.13)
I Quote - Peace talks vital for Israel Op-ed: Negotiations with Palestinians are only way to neutralize anti-Israel boycott calls Comment - HASHEM has said in HIS Word that, "HE will gather all Nations against Jerusalem" - and - In the Creation vers in the Book of Moses - "The Earth SHE became EMTY and VOID". Now Jerusalem is Our Mother and in the Psalms its written - " This and that People is Born There in Zion " !. The Forces of the World is like a Womb, and this Force Squises the People of Israel to A NEW BIRTH as is Said of Israel, "Can a NATION be Born in One Day" ? Yes it Can, when HASHEM steps down in Jerusalen according to Zacharia. Jerusalem is this Place of Rebirth to the Israeli People. Arn.Sweden.
21. TO MR. BARNEA !
FO ,   Belgium   (06.26.13)
You write: "It's unfair that the latest international surveys place us at the top of the world's most hated countries, alongside Iran and North Korea". Well Mr. Barnea, this is the result when a foreign correspondent (being and a Jew and an Israeli) can in a total unpunished way produce a hoax (the Al Dura case) broadcast it worldwide and transform the state of Israel in a country of child murderers. This is the result, when no Israeli leadership has the guts to put forward Israel's irrevocable rights on the territory between the Sea and the Jordan River, a right (League of Nations, 1922) unaltered in International Law, valid to this day and reaffirmed by Article 80 of the Charter of the United Nations. And why this silence? Because of a panic to disclose the necessary documents that have been swept under the carpet, just to prevent the public to realize that a Jewish State could have been created before the Second World War, that would have prevented the Shoah, but was rejected by the left majority of the Zionist Movement blinded by Marxism. So Israel became a occupying force, stealing the territory of the “poor Palestinian people”, violating the Fourth Geneva Convention of 1946; another hoax! This is the history in a nutshell. So no surprise that Israel joined as a rogue state the two others, Iran and North Korea.
22. How much Israel hurt by the boycotts?
Michael Redbourn ,   Arad   (06.26.13)
More nonsense to try and revive a non-existent "peace process". The boycotts actually do more damage to the supposed peace process than they do to Israel. The economy of Israel is a technologically advanced market economy, including rapidly developing high-tech, agricultural, financial and service sectors. As of 2012, Israel ranks 16th among 187 world nations on the UN's Human Development Index, which places it in the category of "Very Highly Developed". During the recent world-wide recession Israel fared better than probably any country in the world. How many are going to boycott Israeli arms and gas etc. in addition to all it's technological innovations. On 22 May, the Cour de Cassation (highest French court) ruled that publicly calling for a boycott of Israeli products constitutes incitement and discrimination based on nationality. Does Barnea think readers are brain-dead and no nothing.
23. BDS is an attempt to destroy Israel. Author is wrong.
Zvi   (06.26.13)
Peace talks don't neutralize the BDS calls to boycott Israel, because the people trying to boycott Israel are not interested in peace. They are interested in destroying Israel. The PA is not interested in peace, or it would return to the table instead of refusing to do so. The Arabs may have an interest in peace, but they are not INTERESTED, per se.
24. Israel needs to look east
CJK   (06.26.13)
israel should stop relying on the rotten europeans for commerce. the chinese do not suffer from the two thousand year old disease cold antisemitism. most countries in south asia are interested in trade and in improving their sort.
25. Empty debate
Raphael ,   Netanya   (06.26.13)
Thanks to Hamas' irredent stance ("Palestine from Jordan to Sea"), our negotiators don't need any brainstorming.
26. bds and other marvels
(06.26.13)
these organisations should be sued until they become bankrupt.
27. Appeasement is both morally and practically wrong
(06.26.13)
Nahum Barnea always gets it wrong. He is a master of the false scare. Here he has his typical appeasement mentality without seeming to understand at all who he is dealing with. Nothing will appease the boycotters and haters who wish to destroy Israel except our destruction. Appeasement is both morally and practically wrong.
28. Absolutely so FO Belgium
Rachel ,   Sweden   (06.26.13)
There are already internationally legal borders of Israel decided by the League of Nations in 1922, from the sea to the river Jordan. UN promised to respect decisions already done by the League of Nations and not change any of them. Arab/ Moslem countries did never accept and have more than 90 years tried to find a way to destroy the Jewish homeland. Jordan was created for Arabs and its territories begin from the east side of the Jordan river . Jordan occupied Judea adn Samaria from 1949 to 1967 and did ethnic cleansing of Jews living in the areas, denmolished and destroyed anything Jewish and used Jewish grave stones to their roads. Palestine has NEVER existed as a country/ state, neither a people called "Palestinians", these words are being used by arabs since mid 60:s and as a weapon tought by the Soviet union and communist countries to use against Israel and its right to exist. Billions and billions of dollars, pounds etc have been invested in this lie to delligitimize Israel and its right to exist. They use apartheid as a tool, boycott israli products as another. Leftist israelis and jews help them promoting these lies. It is time to claim the international law from 1922 regarding the Jewish homelands borders, it is also important to ask if country/ state Palestine existed, it is important to show that the arabs only use an additional weapon to try and reach their goal, to erase the state of Israel from the map. No negoitations led anywhere except terro actions, suicide bombers, rocket attacks, murdering of israelis, jews etc. They always said NO NO NO. Stop with the ghetto behavior that if one say yes then I will not be killed, persecuted etc. It never helped the Jews, never. Why does it seem that people in Israel, most of them, do not know of the international legally borders of the Jewish state decided by the League of Nations 1922 and that still are active. Too many lifes have been spilled, too many got handicapped physcially and psychiligically not claiming the international legal borders of the Jewsih state. I hope that YNET will publish this.
29. BDS illegal in most countries
dr daniel mostrel ,   paris france   (06.26.13)

Zvi Lando ,   Tekoa   (06.26.13)
