31. Very problematic and distorted view of the world
Shachar ,   Eilat   (06.26.13)
Nahum wants to turn a nut with a screwdriver, yes you can turn it a little but it's the wrong tool! If you have a problem with the boycott, deal with the problem itself! Peronally I think boycotts fail and can be counter-productive, BDS is probably helping Israel more than it's harming it. As for South Africa, I was there at the height of the boycott and it was having no effect whatsoever. De Klerk and his gov't believed that eventually Apartheid would fall because fewer and fewer whites supported it. They saw the opportunity to make the best possible transition with Mandela and did it very, very well. Still waiting for a Palestinian Mandela, ie no to violence and believed in sharing.
32. Nothing to talk about except "Palestinian" departure.
Chaim ,   Israel   (06.26.13)
The only thing Israel has to talk about with "Palestinian" poseurs, who are our defeated, genocidal foes, are the terms of their departure from our land.
33. Israel must do something dramatic:
AJ - Raalte   (06.26.13)
"""Either announce that it is freezing construction, or announce a massive release of prisoners, or open Area C for Palestinian construction, or all of the above.""" Uhm ... NONE of the above. What Israel should do is annex Judea and Samaria in their entirety, right now. Now, THAT would be a dramatic gesture!
34. #16 solomon -incorrect
Dave ,   Sao Paulo, Brazil   (06.26.13)
I am sorry but your post lacks reason. Do you really believe Israel can live safely if it prevents another nation from fulfilling its independence in a land that the international community recognizes as theirs? Hamas and Hezbollah will only get stronger if the average Palestinian continues to have a miserable life and live under occupation. Also your last sentences are just weird, I think you are assuming incorrectly that I am an Arab.
35. Palestinian Anthem....
Koose E Mack ,   NY USA   (06.26.13)
I've heard the new Palestinian National Anthem...and it's easy to remember; no words...you fart it!
36. BDS will hurt the Palestnians more than Israel .
Zev ,   Israel   (06.26.13)
Solution for problem is not Israel's mass suicide.
37. #14 every soul is equal
Rau   (06.27.13)
there's no homeland of the christians there's no homeland of the muslims there's no homeland of the buddhist there's no homeland of the hindus there's no homeland of the atheists there's no homeland of the pagans there's no homeland of the sikhs there's no homeland of the jews...
38. To No. 32
Bertram ,   London, UK   (06.28.13)
Chaim, you seem to be very unhappy living in present-day Israel where there appears to be an official recognition of need to negotiate with the Palestinians. In which case, I wonder if you had ever considered your own possible departure.
39. Better Choice
A Yid ,   Tel Aviv   (08.04.13)
How to deal with BDS? Barnea proposes capitulation. But Israel has a better way, retaliation: Make the PA the first casualty in this economic war. Israel has the power: 1. To seize 1 bil. U.S. of PA tax revenues which it collects annually. 2. To impose a crushing counter boycott. 3. To embargo PA imports or exports. 4. Bar travel in or out of PA. Get the idea?
