1. I don't eat fast food
Debbie ,   Israel   (06.27.13)
But after reading this article - I'm going to show my support for Mc Donalds and take the kids there for dinner tonight!
2. I'm loving it!
Keren IL-BR   (06.27.13)
Great news! Policies like this contribute more to shape borders than the so called peace process. Just imagine if all companies now start boycotting the West Bank and artists and academics and unions and universities do the same Waw... the settlers and Israelis in the Green Line would soon discover that Eretz Ysrael has a border and it finishes close to the Highway 6. MacDonalds... I'm simply loving it!
3. It's a democracy, and Omri Padan can do what he wants
Brian Cohen ,   Judean Peoples Front   (06.27.13)
There is no law saying Mickey D's has to open up everywhere and anywhere. Padan is well within his democratic rights. The only response is for competitors to open up and do a better job in Ariel than McD's does. Anybody who does not believe Rami Levi's claims about coexistence is welcome to join me tonight when I shop at his store in Gush Etzion - peacefully staffed and frequented by Palestinians and Settlers.
4. Boycott McDonalds
Michelle ,   Israel   (06.27.13)
Will never take my family to McDonalds again - they are not just against operating across the greenline which helps everyone with jobs - they are also extremely anti-religious for years they have refused to make the MD in Beit Shemesh (within the greenline) kosher ( until just a few months ago) even though the population of Beit Shemesh is majority religious or observant of kashrut.
5. Just the connection to Peace Now makes it unpalatable!
tom ,   tel aviv   (06.27.13)
Don't touch that garbage and you'll thank yourself twice: as a citizen & healthier being.
6. You wont see my money anymore..
Dr.Leonello ,   Kfar Yona   (06.27.13)
..good for my pockets good for my liver.
7. #1 you go to love them
israel israeli ,   tel aviv   (06.27.13)
Debbie, to prove your hatred of Jews, you go out and poison your own children. You got to love those Leftists.
8. No MacDonalds for me
Tova ,   Canada   (06.27.13)
Never liked MacDonalds - I don't eat MacDonalds. there are much better places to eat hamburgers. Labelling products "made in Israel" is within all the boarders of Israel. The EU should learn about Israel before they speak. Do they not realize the more they speak out against Israel. The More Problems Europe will Have.
9. Burger Ranch is much better than Macs anyday!
A ,   Belgium   (06.27.13)
10. where is Burger King? or even KFC?
Sam Sweiry ,   Eastbourne UK   (06.27.13)
Why do you want to have a McDonald just because it is a very popular International Band company - Why not have an Israeli Brand of Hamburger Joint to rival McDonald in Israel - What is wrong with that? - Lets develope a Brand New Israeli Brand of Fast Food Hamburger Joint - Come On all of you BIG Investors
11. McDonald's Boycott
Nili ,   Jerusalem   (06.27.13)
Peace Now is vile! The people of Judea and Samria are Israelis and any boycotters should have their license pulled. As for the rest of us--There are plenty of healthier places to eat out--let him feel the boycott in his pocket and run him out of business.
12. B"H - No More BigMacs For Me
Ariel ben Yochanan ,   Kfar Tapuah, Efraim   (06.27.13)
13. Rami Levi what a hypocrite
Haim ,   TA   (06.27.13)
"The boycott will harm the arab population" well thats rich from someone who fired an arab worker from his supermarket for having a romantic relationship with a jew.
14. macdonalds
elimelech ,   shomron   (06.27.13)
1. they will lose money on this 2. i cannot fugure the moral principle behind this boycot (and of the Industrial Zone of Barkan) if arabs suffer? 3. should they not also boycott: china (Tibet); Australia (the Aborigines); France and Spain (the Basques); USa (the indians); India (the caste system); Iran (the sunnis); Russia (everybody except Snowden)
15. FORMER McDonald's lover.
Avi ,   Toronto, Canada   (06.27.13)
Since Mr. Padan is such a fan of boycotts, I'll "serve" him a taste of his own medicine with a side dish of fries.
16. #3, not so for two reasons
Naftush ,   Israel   (06.27.13)
Mr. Padan justified opening non-kosher, open-on-Shabbat outlets on the grounds that he has a customer base that wants them. He should be as tolerant toward people over the Green Line. Furthermore, it's common business practice to follow the lead of one's government in boycott issues -- and one does not see the Government of Israel boycotting Ariel.
17. McDonalds
Bernard Davis ,   Los Angeles Ca   (06.27.13)
Obviously, Israel cannot survive without McDonalds. When Kerry visits Israel both Netanuyau and Peres should make it clear "No McDonalds in Ariel will be the most serious issue between the US and Israel." Removal of Israeli Ambassador to the US would be the first move, and then closure of Yitzchak Ha Gadol in Encino should be the next move
18. McDonald's
jack ,   netanya   (06.27.13)
It won't be NO problems once we made PEACE with the Pals !!! and it is time too.
19. To Keren, #2
Aviela ,   Migron RC, Israel   (06.27.13)
You have confused terms. Eretz Yisrael's border is well into what is currently called Jordan. Medinat Yisrael currently only makes it to the Jordan River. As residents of Medinat Yisrael, we pay taxes to the state, are educated by the state and proudly serve in the state's military.
20. Kol Hakavod MD !!!
(06.27.13)
Stand for your opinions and rights!!!
21. I don't eat fast food
Gee ,   Zikron Yaakov   (06.27.13)
And won't start. They have the worst food of all of them
22. @ 4
Sheik rattle & roll ,   USA   (06.27.13)
I don't think Mcdonalds is anti-religious, I think it is pro-secular. You should live and let live and don't try and force your believes on anybody. It is your choice to boycott Mcdonalds and It is Mcdonalds choice to be kosher or not kosher or better yet to be some place or not to be some place. It is called freedom of action and it is your right to boycott Mcdonalds and there right to boycott the City of Ariel.
23. Michelle et caterva
Lubna ,   Beirut Lebanon   (06.27.13)
Just let me tell you that by doing that MacDonalds won the confidence of 1.6 billion Muslim and 322 million Arabs. Make the math and compare it to 5.2 million Israelis. Easy, right? Michelle, dearest, believe me, your boycott to MacDonalds will make the company cry rivers. I just hope this noble example of MacDonalds will inspire Starbucks, Wall Mart to do the same. It is time to curb the enthusiasm of certain Israelis.
24. #2 Keren - Enjoy McDonald's
BEN JABO (MACHAL) ,   ISRAEL   (06.27.13)
and your coronary that will follow, their crap is loaded with fats, eager to clog your arteries
25. Wise thinking Mr Padan
Rau   (06.27.13)
I m gonna celebrate tonight.- double cheese burger.
26. Holy Burger
USA   (06.27.13)
Here's a suggestion for a name, for a new burger joint in Ariel...HOLY BURGER
27. Samaria is better off
Dave ,   Montreal, Canada   (06.27.13)
Do they really want people eating that trash?
28. No sweat
lucifer69   (06.27.13)
After reading this article where Omri Padan shows his real face by refusing opening shop in an Israeli city and ignoring commercial reasons,I will never take my family of six to dinner at McD. I also have mailed to my couple of thousand facebook friends in Europe and Americas this article and proposed to organize retaliatory action in their countries. It is gonna cost Omri!
29. #23 "It is time to curb the enthusiasm of certain Israelis",
A ,   Belgium   (06.27.13)
and fire the parasite "palestinians" that work for them. They can go to MacMohameds' in Amman and look for a job there.
30. Very simple
Lisa ,   Judea   (06.27.13)
We settlers should go and eat Mc Donald in Ramallah and by the same token occupy Ramallah. Omri will be happy.
