31. Oh those poor settlers. #29
David Clarke ,   Liverpool, England   (06.27.13)
Oh Boo Hoo my heart bleeds, the messianic fanatics of Ariel and the West Bank will not have their fast food outlet, they and their fanatical ilk on Ynet seem to be the only ones complaining about this decision so MacDonald's is hardly being blasted by anybody serious, the settlers will just have to take the cake and eat it because there are certainly no Kosher Big Macs, Fish Fillets and French Fries over over the Green line, when they make Aliyah to Israel proper and stop expecting the good honest decent taxpayers who live in Israel proper to subsidize and prop up their illegal lives in an Arab country making misery for the native inhabitants then they can have their fast food. #29 Actually, A from Belgium, in Amman, Jordan its called MacDonald's too and there is also a MacDonald's for Palestinians in Ramallah, not that id expect you to know that considering your grand total knowledge of the Arab world and the Israeli-Palestinian conflict extends to nothing more than sub-par boorish racism, petty insults and bigotry. Oh btw KolHakavod to MacDonald's, Im loving it!.
32. Ariel residents are better off without McDonald's
Alex   (06.27.13)
I haven't been to McDonald's for over 5 years, it's unhealthy and doesn't taste good. Falafel and shawarma is healthier and tastier. Heck, let some Palestinians open up a Falafel place in the mall (which I'm sure they'd gladly do) to show the hypocrisy of Omri Padan and his likes.
33. MacDo No! Burger's Bar Yes! ;-)

aaron ,   toronto,canada   (06.27.13)
As usual you're wrong, this is mcdonalds ISRAEL who is separate from anywhere else it's a franchise owner's decision which is his right but in Israel where healthy food is available everywhere why would you take your kids to a fast food restaurant when you can enjoy home-made burgers and fries at better restaurants.
36. #23 You don't get it
Tahl   (06.27.13)
The boycott in Israel is not meant to affect the international McDonald's chain, only McDonald's-Israel, which are responsible for this policy. If enough Israelis join this boycott, trust me that Omri Padan would feel it very well in his pocket.
37. non issue! some people is USA
Barney ,   USA   (06.27.13)
protest to keep fast food out of neighborhoods.
38. and stay out !
Hilltop youth ,   IL   (06.27.13)
we dont need your 'food' killing us.
39. Bye Bye McDonalds
Genius ,   Beersheba   (06.27.13)
Boycotting Ariel = Boycott McDonalds in the whole part of Israel bye bye mr padan i will eat some burger ranch
40. Good to know
Avi ,   BELGIUM   (06.27.13)
No Mc Donnalds for me from now on..I decided not to spend my money there and I will make sure everyone I know to tell them not go there.. There is no such thing as the GREEN LINE, unless you take some weed and put it on a line
41. To No 23
Valerie ,   Israel   (06.27.13)
I am sorry to tell you that neither Starbucks or Walmart operate in Israel so it would be difficult for them to do the same. Anyway, why would anyone want to eat MacDonalds. It is probably the worst 'fast-food' available anywhere.
42. # 4 Debbie -- Kashrut
Stan ,   Israel   (06.27.13)
For years there have been 2 outlets of Mac. at Alonim, one Kosher, one not. So it's not that they are anti-dati
43. # 4 Debbie - Who suffers from boycott?
Stan ,   Israel   (06.27.13)
As you may or may not know, the White regime in South Africa fell due to the international boycott. The country was the strongest military and economic power in the area ( just as Israel is) but after more than two decades of boycott the economy suffered so much that the regime collapsed.
44. # 4 CORRECTION
Stan ,   Israel   (06.27.13)
Should be Michelle not Debbie
45. politics in fast food...really?
mnz ,   Ramat Gan   (06.27.13)
sigh. Such large threats - a boycott in Samaria of a fast food chain. I am sure that McDs is shaking. And how many other chains did anyone examine for their political stances? oof. such silliness for the "offense" of the week.
46. You mean West Bankers eat McGarbage?
Jew with Cojones ,   Israel   (06.27.13)
Well I am surprised! All these years we've been told that the West Bankers know better than all the rest of us. And here it turns out that by wanting this McGarbage they are showing how WRONG & unhealthy their behaviors can be! ;-)
47. Are you freaking kidding me ?!!
Jack ,   USA   (06.27.13)
Naftali Bennett is crazy !! Ariel is a region of peace and coexistence ?! I think he was drunk when he said it, that is the only logical explanation.
48. halal mcdonalds in detroit i
Barney ,   USA   (06.27.13)
find it strange they resisted kosher restaurant in Israel but had halal mcdonalds in detroit. ended up getting sued by a muslim who said it wasn't up to standard so they discontinued halal.
49. McDonalds Israel is a Rip-off
Scott ,   Ramat Gan, Israel   (06.27.13)
A combo meal is 40 shekels, twice as much as in the US. I can't imagine why anyone would pay 40 shekels for junk food when they a could get a plate of good food in a restaurant for the same price & the food only has the McDonald's label, it's not nearly as good as McDonalds USA or BK. Another reason to boycott it is the owner is a founder of Peace Now.
50. To all those who intend to boycott Mac.
Stan ,   Israel   (06.27.13)
So a million Jews around the world will boycott MacDonalds? Be careful you may find that a billion non Jews in EUROPE, ASIA, NORTH and SOUTH AMERICA, and AFRICA will boycott ISRAEL.
51. NOW??
Ellen ,   Israel/NYC   (06.27.13)
I am amazed that it took MCD to refuse to go to Ariel for the right wing to wake up and realize that every Big Mac they consumed put money into the pocket of a founder of Shalom Achshav. I've known this for years ( and I only live in Israel part time) and wouldn't eat a Big Mac under any circumstance. It is sad that people only today realize what they have been supporting.
52. Mc D
Get Real ,   UK   (06.27.13)
Most fast -food's and burger's chains meals are generally healthier than McDs so maybe the citizens of Ariel are having a lucky escape. Will Israeli's now boycott the boycotter? The fact that McD operates in Israel does not seem to have put off the large number of Muslims who eat at, and work for McD in the West.
53. #31 Actually I lived in Samaria for over 10 years
A ,   Belgium   (06.27.13)
and I was in Ramallah as a reservist. I watched and heard Scud missiles falling on Tel Aviv. Except for the fact that your part of the world is rapidly disappearing into the darkness called islam, I really do believe that my "grand total knowledge of the Arab world and the Israeli-Palestinian conflict" is much deeper than yours. You may therefore return your head to that dark smelly place that you temporarily pulled it out from.
54. McD's is McDrek!
ASTROANUT ,   SC, USA   (06.27.13)
Astounding that Israelis are clamoring for this chazzerai - fast food that offers no nutrition, tons of fat and salt. Vu bist du, mishugah? Sadly, the icon of Israeli identity is being swallowed down the gullet of "westernized" cr@p.
55. McD
iselin ,   Oslo, Norway   (06.28.13)
If there are non-kosher McDonalds in Israel, does that mean that they serve cheeseburgers? I hope so. When I was in Israel a few years ago, I went to two McDs, but neither had cheeseburgers on the menu. I thought that was unfair to all the cheeseburger lovers out there.
56. McDonald
Leib ,   New Amsterdam   (06.28.13)
Just stop to buy at McDonald start to BOYCOTT start to boycott any company that boycott us in Israel remember stop to buy at companys that boycott us Jews , it is all the same Jews or Israel ,you boycott Israel you are boycotting Jews all the same
57. McDogfood
BH ,   Iowa   (06.28.13)
58. Bennett is a true student of George Orwell
Mark B. ,   Amsterdam / Holland   (06.28.13)
Newspeak: 'region of peace'.
59. #50 - Stan - McDonald Franchises are separately owned
Scott ,   Ramat Gan, Israel   (06.28.13)
The person that would be harmed by the boycott is McDonalds Israel owner Omri Padan, who made the decision to boycott Ariel residents.
60. How about Jews and Arabs made this in Saudi/Gaza
kate b ,   uk refugee   (06.28.13)
No peace or Jews there! People don't get it - the ideology of Saudi is in Gaza, will be in Yesha - there can never be peace in the ummah, even if there were no Jews, Christians or other kuffar, it's a house divided.
