31. Seeing is believing, Matthew.
AJ - Raalte   (06.28.13)
32. #23 So right. His entire premise is wrong. #24 Agreed!
Cowboy Joe ,   Calgary, Canada   (06.28.13)
33. elke #4, Fajr-5 and Grad rockets are not "homemade"
Jake   (06.28.13)
They are Russian and Iranian made rockets with a striking range deep inside central Israel. If it had not been for the response of the home front and the use of shelters, and the interceptions by Iron Dome, the Israeli casualties would have been much higher. It amazes me that anti-Israel propagandists on these forums are not able to supply even one straight fact in any of their posts.
34. Mordechai #24, was that really necessary?
Jake   (06.28.13)
Why write such a post? You make us look bad. Feel free to embarrass yourself, but don't presume to speak in Israel's name.
35. Matthew Gould means well
Jake B. ,   Cleveland, OH   (06.28.13)
Matthew Gould had my heart and full attention until the fourth paragraph. After that he sounded like Bill Clinton, Tony Blair, Ehud Olmert and Yossi Sarid all wrapped into a single politician. By the time the sh*t hits the fan, the promises and likes of these narcissists are nowhere to be found.
36. More Land-For-Terror
Johhny ,   TA, Israel   (06.28.13)
More Land-For-Terror? Thanks but no thanks but we learned all we need to know from the Gaza withdrawal. UK has decided to commit suicide and hand her sovereignty over to Muslims but this does not mean Israel should make the same mistake
37. What an idiot!
Rachel ,   US   (06.28.13)
Put your faith in hopes and dreams like Oslo and the Gaza disengagement? Oh yes, that worked out so well.
38. #13 You're flouting your illegitimate Divine
Mark ,   Lodz, Poland   (06.28.13)
Will and Decree again. You're like a broken record
39. UK vs jews
mehrdad ,   germany   (06.29.13)
Uks hostile activities against jews have a long tradition. the first shots of the royal navy in WW2 were not against nazis ships but against jewish refugee ship near haifa where the britons killed some jews fleeing from the nazis. UK is the last country which has the right to give israel orders or advices. if israel leave westbank the same will happen like gaza and south lebanon. islamists start to fire rockets and UK&the rest of the world will give a shitt about that. israel could and can never trust others when it comes to its security. history shows us that everytime.
40. #24, Mordechai
Avi Yisraeli ,   Tel Aviv   (06.28.13)
Vannunu? Is that you? So things didn't go well for you with the Sunday Times but gezz, how long can you hold a grudge?
41. #33 pro-israel propagandists
elke ,   usa   (06.29.13)
can't refute the entirely disproportionate death toll. Or the treatment of Palestinian children by Israel's army and police.
42. Partly the Brits fault.
Jordan Ariel ,   USA   (06.28.13)
Mr. Gould perhaps if your nation didnt royally mismanage the mandate and didnt make a king out of a saudi arabian and give him his own country which was not considered the Arab nation of the Mandate... maybe the Pal's and the Israelis would have been fighting over the remaining 22 percent of the mandated land. The demarcation line should have been the Jordan River like the League of Nations decided in San Remo (correct me if i am wrong on that one). This is your Nation's mess. But it's Israeli (and Arab) blood that is bled for your nations incompetence.
43. Onus on the Arab world, owners of 99.5% middle east
hipocrates ,   earth   (06.28.13)
not on the 0.5% owned for time immemorial by the aboriginals JUDEans, the Jews. Onus is on the arab world. when it reforms there will be peace. as long as it doesnt Israel pretending the palestinian arabs want de militarized peace is as naive as anything could be.
44. Another Talking Head
JC1255 ,   USA   (06.28.13)
Dear Mr. British hypocrite, let us say this as succinctly as possible. Israel is not looking for a perfect peace, Israeli's are much wiser than that! But they are looking for a credible peace partner whom they can can trust will take thier security concerns seriously instead of demanding thier own expectations be met before the negotiations even begin! Haven't really seen one of those yet except maybe the in the PA PM position which the PA doesn't really seem to be able to hold onto! So save your Op-Ed's for the PA, see how much credibility you have with them!
45.  Mr Ambassador
Rick ,   Usa   (06.29.13)
You would do well to remember that the road to Hell is paved with good intentions.
46. 34.
Birdi ,   Israel   (06.28.13)
Jake, no Israeli in their right mind would ever think of dropping a bomb on London & other cities in the UK, no matter what! The muslim influx into the UK has a huge influence on the British Government. Any idiot can see this.
47. 22.
Birdi ,   Israel   (06.28.13)
I agree with you.
48. Idiot !.
Arn. ,   Sweden.   (06.28.13)
There where no Peace before the 1967 Borders !. Arn.
49. Britain will stand with Israel
Drumgoole ,   Newark NJ USA   (06.28.13)
Gould stated that "Britain will stand with israel on the difficult road to peace." What does that mean? How will Britain stand with israel? Will it abstain from supporting Israel in the security council? Will it sign a mutual defense agreement with israel? Will it give Israel the green light to attack the West Bank and Gaza if attacked? It's easy to make meaningless promises that amount to nothing and his promise of an antisemitic and historically anti-Israel Britain standing by israel is a meaningless and hypocritical gesture.
50. Speak for yourself
John ,   uK   (06.29.13)
Seems like he is saying that more Israeli children must die in the name of peace and we must exchange security for more promises.
51. blood near the baby's cot
Elsie. ,   Gush Halav.   (06.29.13)
Let me see if I get this right, the English was the cause of 6 million Jews death in ww2,so no friend, the Americans have a weak two faced president, so no friend, France, well no friend, Germany, no way, so no friend and so its goes on, oh I forgot the Palestinians are animals love to kill, savage and please all of them be so kind to transfer yourselves to Jordan, did I forget anything?
52. Mr. Ambassador,
Sabra   (06.29.13)
why is Israel always the one to make concessions?
53. #3-Gabor, you nailed it, my friend.
Bald Eagle ,   South Florida   (06.29.13)
A short, concise paragraph of the reality on the ground. Something the British Ambassador ought to familiarize himself with.
54. The UK and Israel
Etienne Prinsloo ,   Nova Scotia Canada   (06.29.13)
The ambassador is placating the muslim masses in the UK of whom they have grown terrified. Israel has NEVER called for the destruction of it's neighbours, yet defending itself is a crime. England prevented munition transfer to Israel during the Yom Kippur war in service to it's arab masters. The list is too long for this column. No Mr ambassador, just because your country is commiting slow suicide, do not expect Israel to do the same.
55. Britain will stand with Israel
Paritosh Ghosh ,   New Delhi,India   (06.29.13)
Israel must keep fingers crossed , when such statements are from UK . I wonder if the Britons are the deadliest of all enemies for Israel and are of course stealth.
56. There is no "occupation"
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (06.29.13)
Rules of war prevail. Israel was attacked by Jordan. Israel defeated Jordan. The ersatz "Palestinians" in the West Bank -- Jordanian citizens all -- must come to recognize that they are a vanquished people. Israel runs this show. Whether the international community likes it or not. Were we to start undoing outcomes to war, where will it end? I will tell you that it will not begin with the sovereign State of Israel. Israel is not your guinea rabbit. Get lost. The ersatz "Palestinians" are a vanquished people, subject to repatriation to Jordan, and if the international community does not like it, too bad. Let's give East Prussia back to the Germans. Let's give Istria back to the Italians. Let's give Okinawa back to the Japanese. Do that -- and then you have a quasi-argument (what with Judea and Samaria being nonsovereign territory and all). The Jewish people are tired of being victims. Time for someone else to take their turn at bat. We haven't exactly forgotten the seven plus decades of unremitting Arab terror, either. Just keep all that in mind.
57. #56, blood near the baby's cot.
Elsie. ,   Gush Halav.   (06.29.13)
#56, Sarah, really luv you are becoming more and more theatrical with each post.
58. #13 If I was Jesus Christ, I'd be really angry
A ,   Belgium   (06.29.13)
to hear a polakus ignoramius as yourself throwing around words like "Divine Will" and "Holy" and so forth. Boiled cabbage and potato vodka are more to your level.
59. A minimum requirement for a real peace
Rube Vogel ,   Jerusalem   (06.29.13)
- severe restrictions on weapons - severe consequences for any failure to keep the peace. Without these, any territorial concessions will reinforce the status quo of terrorists and Palestinians who support and justify terror.
60. Peace sells but who's buying
Ben   (06.30.13)
To arabs the 'nakba' started in 48 not 67 it has nothing to do with 67 borders there was never peace
