1. they want to come to israel they obey its laws
zionist forever   (06.27.13)
The elected government ( a government they didn't vote for ) decided that these people could be held for up to 3 years without trial. The voters didn't complain abut this law if anything it went down well. These migrants are here illegally so what right do they have to complain about the laws of SOMEBODY ELSES COUNTRY. They have seen that when palestinian prisoners go on strike government caves in so now they are thinking if they go on hunger strike then the government will cave in and change the law. they don't like the fact they are not getting a trial then do us all a favour and leave.
2. No1 a trial is a basic human right
(06.27.13)
Jews in Nazi germany didn't have trials either.
3. Let them have their hunger strikes and
Get Real ,   UK   (06.28.13)
let the publicity attaching to this be seen by the world to show how Africans are prepared to travel to 'Apartheid' Israel to seek shelter, refuge, security and employment. Let Amnesty International pick up on this from AI. Bet a good few hundreds of thousands of Sytrians wouldn't mind swapping places with them.
4. Saharonim Illegals
Nili ,   Jerusalem   (06.28.13)
These people are illegals, they are Not Jews (most are Muslim), they bring nothing but crime, and primitive behaviour. Ask why they didn't stop in a Muslim country on the way? If hey had they would probably have been shot. I have no sympathy~Ship them all back or let them starve themselves...their choice.
5. Political Assylum
Berel Sholom Tzvi ,   WEstern, PA US of A   (06.28.13)
I say they can stay if they undergo ritual circumcision and a full Jewish Conversion.
6. Wink Wink,, Nudge Nudge..
Josh ,   Tel Aviv   (06.28.13)
Say no more...Eritreans send the money they earn in Israel back to their family's in Eritrea. Their so called dictator is their hero.Real refugees talk, try to adapt to the country they are living in,they don't sit all day listening to their dictators patriotic music and glued to his one tv station. Those of you that are deceived are not even close to being wise.Wake up..
7. migrants
john ,   toronto   (06.28.13)
They should not be send back . If they have committed crimes they should be in prisons or they should be free. Give them work permit and allow them to work. Labor force is not responsible for the problems of Israel.
8. send them to egypt , to their brothers ....

9. Illegal Immigrant Detention
Gold, Barbara ,   Zichron Yacov, Israe   (06.28.13)
A kinder solution is to teach the immigrants practical skills, like irrigation techniques for better agriculture, solar energy for cheaper utilities, fish farming for nutrition in order for the immigrants to return to their country of origin with skill sets they can use. Most immigrants have left their country for economic betterment. Let's help instead of hurt. There can be strong diplomatic relations in the future between Israel and the African nations if they view us as allies.

jews were citizens of germany, poland, france, italy, russia, austria, greece, netherlands, from wherever they were thrown out of their homes and shipped to the concentration camps. your analogy is way off. these illegals should be returned to eritrea.
11. Muslims fleeing muslims "entitled" to refuge in Israel? NO!!
Dr. L. Brnd ,   San Diego, USA   (06.28.13)
Israel has no duty whatever to grant refugee status to hostile muslims fleeing political disputes or blood feuds with even more radical muslims in the Islamic hell-hole republics of Sudan, Somalia and Eritrea. All of which do not recognize Israel's right to exist. All of which consider themselves at war with Israel. These "refugees" pray every day for Allah to grant them victory over the Jews. That they reject Israeli law, as the article shows, is only one reflection of this. They all entered israel illegally from Egypt, and they should be deported to Egypt, whether Cairo likes it or not. Their presence in the Sinai demilitarized zone, shipped there by the Egyptian authorities to enable them to infitrate israel, is a material violation of the Israel-Egypt peace treaty. Lean on Kerry and Obama to force Egyptian cooperation on this. Why negotiate more treaties with Arabs if they don't honor the ones they already signed? The US has virtually walked away from its obligation to end Egyptian violations of the treaty it brokered, instead shoveling billions worth of offensive weapons, tanks and F-16s to the anti-israel Morsi. - why play ball with more US "peace process" initiatives until they do?

Oleg ,   Moscow, Russia   (06.28.13)
Are you stupidly suggesting that illegal African Muslims that infiltrated into Israel illegally are in the same situation as jews were in Nazi Germany?
13. Illegal migrants
Lippy ,   Israel   (06.28.13)
These people left Sudan and Eritrea and entered Egypt. At that stage they were refugees in Egypt. From there they entered Israel illegally. Surely they should be returned to Egypt.
14. WHY WHY WHY
frank ,   rehovot   (06.28.13)
are we being so stupid? We will give in just as we always do. We do this for some fake sense that the world will love us. They won't! We MUST think about what is best for us. What is best is to send them back ! They are not refugees, they are not political asylum seekers, they are illegals. Is every mexican who crosses the US boarder a political refugee and can they demand asylum? Send them back. And if they don't eat, we can send them back hungry. Send them to where? Who cares! They came from somewhere, put them on the boarder and let them figure it out if they don't leave voluntarily.
15. The illegals need to be elswewhere
Ron ,   OC US   (06.28.13)
Israel is under no obligation to take in 65,000 illegal African/Moslems and Israel must not give in to these illegal economic refugees that need to be settled in any number of African and or Moslem countries.
16. *yawn*

17. Let them build Eilat airport if they want to stay
Barbara ,   Haifa Israel   (06.28.13)
This way, they somehow earned to stay. They build the airport, stay in the facility, and then if they continue to follow civilized way of living (no breaking of laws), then they've earned to stay here.
18. good but aliens u can also die by making hunger strike so we
joe ,   israel   (06.28.13)
Wont have to spend money on you!!!!! Go away being aliens does not give a damn rigth the only thing right to do is to regularize ur status
19. Will this ever stop?
Israel   (06.28.13)
Im so tired of reading about them!! Don't like Israel? So LEAVE! We didn't invite you here and you wont be missed. I don't understand why every other civilized country punishes illegal immigrants, especially ones who commit crime, and we don't do anything about it. At this rate Israel won't be Israel soon it will be a 62nd African country detached from its continent. Please please please wake up lawmakers! Don't take our Jewish homeland from us, we fight so hard everyday to keep it!
20. #1 laws
(06.28.13)
There are international laws Israel has to abide to even for plitim. If you expect these plitim to abid by Israeli immigration laws then you also must expect Israel to respect international human rights laws

zionist forever   (06.28.13)
Its not a human right to have a trial as soon as you arrive. The law says they can be detained without trial for up to 3 years not indefinitely. There are about 70,000+ of these people all with individual cases to be looked at, we cannot just put them all on trial at the same time and we cannot say let them roam free until their trial date when it will be decided if they will be deported or not. This is the only practical solution.
