62. #54 "They weren't invited to start with"
Expat ,   Adelaide   (07.03.13)
One of the women is actually a born and bred Belgian. She might not even be Jewish by origin. And even if she was, and even if her partner was Israeli - it's immaterial. Belgium is a free country, a democracy and not a theocracy, and Jews are entitled to live there just like any other people. Are there not other minorities living in Belgium? Some of which are far less contributing, and far more annoying than Jews (who incidentally, make up less than 0.5% of the population). When will you get over your pathological fixation?

If the fact that they are lesbian is not so important, why do you cite it multiple times? Of course she is traumatized. Someone invaded her house and beat her face to a pulp. And "natives" like you think it justified and take cracks at her religion and orientation. Why wouldn't she be upset?

The only pattern I see is that the Belgians are reverting to Nazi type. What a surprise! When Moslems overrun your nasty little country and Sharia law is imposed, who are you going to blame then? Perhaps you should look in the mirror. Oh -- one more thing -- I looked up Belgian law. Sworn testimony can be taken in any language, as long as it is certified by an official translator. So go peddle your anti-Semitic claptrap elsewhere.
70. #56 Care to show us YOUR "invitation", Kowalsky?
A ,   Belgium   (07.03.13)
I mean, having someone of your stature being polakius ignoramius, coming to the US and pretending to be an American must have been quite an honor for America and would certainly warrant an invitation and a feast. Boiled cabbage for everyone!

Why do you say that the days of American Jews are numbered? Have you been to NYC lately? You won't find a more Jewish city on the planet. Of course, most are liberal, live and let live people, and they eat anything and everything, but they are still culturally Jewish, and that's what they like and want. No dictates from know-it-all rabbis. They will never move to Israel en masse. They have it too good in NYC.
73.  I cant understand this
ky   (07.03.13)
There is a very large jewish community in Antwerp , highly visible and mostly orthodox and Hasidim . They live there quite peacefully without much trouble from local Belgiums who are mostly very pleased at the contribution they make towards their economy. Apart from this anyone who considers violence against Jews may be likely to get some sort of repayment from the community there. There is something else going on here. Perhaps there is some sort of prejudice towards their sexuality. The article steers around this .
74. Racism is everywhere and try
Sheik rattle & roll ,   USA   (07.03.13)
being a black in Tel Aviv. I personally believe racism is disgusting whether it is against blacks in Israel or Jews in Europe or Chinese on Mars. If Israel doesn't want the blacks it should deport them. I personally believe this incident in Belgium is an isolated incident, however the incidents in Tel Aviv and other Israeli communities against blacks is state sponsored and it is the government of Israel's fault for not defending it's borders in the first place.

77. #3 - Comparison Between Swastika and Mezuzah?
Chaim T. ,   Jerusalem, Israel   (07.03.13)
How is a Jew putting a mezuzah on their door (which is a religious requirement for Jews), comparable to putting a swastika on a door in Tel Aviv? It sounds to me, like you believe that these women deserve the treatment that they received, because they are Israeli and chose to put up the mezuzah as "a provocation". Should a Christian family living in a Muslim country be harassed as well for wearing a cross? Perhaps you didn't really read the article. They were brutally attacked because they were Jews. Not because they were Israelis. That is racism, plain and simple by definition. Sounds to me like you are also a racist anti-semite, who hides it behind "anti-Israelism".

There're some norms and customs in an established societies/communities a 're-arrange' someone else's furniture means, disrupt their lifestyle and customs, impose your own law by locking yourself outside of a mainstream, take everything that comes with it and avoid paying taxes, you know very well what I'm talking about ,...

Just teasing - As a member of a nation that requires a proof of a jewishnes and approved by an interior ministry to get married in Israel you as a nation that hosts EU should know or learn hebrew to start with and be more inclusive, after all they give you the Ten Comandments, didn't they ,...
80. story not complete - misleading
Reuven ,   netanya   (07.03.13)
According to Belgian police, a formal complaint was made and the case is now in the hands of the prosecutor. According to the police, there are no clues that point to antisemitism. Further investigation will make that clear. Previously there were multiple complaints against the couple because of night-time noise disturbance, police tried to resolve the situation which apparently did not help. The victims have been invited to the city hall to have a meeting with the major, who was very concerned with what has happened. Also the ministry of interior has ordered the police internal affairs to look into the matter. As you can see there is definitely more to this story ...

Does the other one say, I'm the husband?
82. #80 Obviously a hate crime
Cynthia ,   USA   (07.03.13)
The police refused to accept a complaint or investigate the victim's complaints until the women hired a high profile attorney and the Jewish community intervened. There is more to the story because the story is evolving. A hate crime was committed, the police are seen as collaborating with the perps by not investigating the crime and the neighbors are facing criminal charges. When the neighbors broke into the apartment and assaulted the woman, they didn't accuse the woman of making noise, only of being Jewish.

bull and a total lie. east side of n.y. is full of jewish diamond dealers and they are the best! everyone goes there to buy diamonds. so, yes, they contribute to the economy. and by the way, indians never took over from jewish diamond dealers in n.y. indians took over the GOLD BUSINESS ONLY. you are so clueless, it hurts. stop embarrassing yourself by concocting "facts" stemming from wishful thinking. and no, very very few jews live off the usa government dole. it is mostly the business of mexicans, muslim immigrants, african immigrants and a good portion of the black community.....i am sure polaks are there in big numbers as well because attending gas stations and pumping gas into cars doesn't pay the bills quite so well. this is why you have so much free time to post on the computer. it seems you live on government dole as well because if you had a job, no one will have the "pleasure" of reading your idiotic rants day in and day out.

Mr's Sarah B. I share your comment. The refered event, in Belgium, was indignous and coward. We, loyal friends of Jewish people, do regret it and tell you, again, about our solidarity. Those enemies of mankind deserve the hardest penalties. Renewed Salutes.

Mr. Stefaan, your people, from French or Flemish origin, must struggle against awful antisemitism. Belgium was attacked by German two times, and had suffered very much, specially under Hitler's rule. Today, you have a Democratic Monarchy. Kill the snake's egg at once and firmly.
87. @82 Cyntia
Reuven ,   Netanya   (07.04.13)
Get the facts sorted, you are only aware of what the media that you read says ... Try to investigate a bit further. Several media sources report about not breaking into the appartment while other media states that it was. I really don't believe in the hate crime theory, given the fact that there is a history of night time noise disturbance I believe its rather a case of neighbors just don't getting along and on one day there is alcohol involved and things got out of hand. Nothing more to it. If you want to make a direct link to a hate crime/ antisemism, go ahead but I dont buy it.

Your convoluted argument shamelessly hides the fact that violent attack took place, and the police walked away.
89. #87 Post a link to your facts

Every article I've read is consistent with an anti-semitic hate crime. Post a link to your source and I'll read it.
90. 20 . Flemish wera antisemites ?
Charles ,   Petach Tikva   (07.04.13)
Yes , there were . But not the many who knew us , who helped us , even officials ! I still have my food tickets , official , with my true name , a Jewish one , and of "Polish nationality" issued in 1944 . Half of the Jewish population survived there . So don't generalise .
