1. The actual dialog
Jake B. ,   Cleveland, OH   (06.30.13)
Might have gone something like this: "I'm not Hillary, ya know. And I'm not intimidated by your 160 IQ, your Sayeret Matkal and MIT background or the fact that you're better articulated than most US Congressman and Senators". "So, what's your plan, Sir?" "The President is not happy with the lack of progress. We thought our man, Yair, would come through for us by now but he's about as useless as Olmert was for us. We don't have a lot of time left. We explained to you numerous times that the President wants to have a Palestinian State declared before he leaves office. You haven't been very helpful." "With all due respect Mr. Secretary, it's hard to convince Israelis that a Palestinian State is in their best interest. Believe me, I'm trying...I have the all the newspapers, both TV channels, ex-Shin Bet and Mossad chiefs and nearly all of our celebrities cheering on the idea. We even had the outgoing British Ambassador to Israel, write an Op-Ed in yesterday's yNet endorsing the idea. Have your boys read some of the comments to his op-ed? Unfortunately, there isn't much support right now." "Look, Bibi... you read the newspapers. I don't have to tell you that come hell or high water, you *will* play ball with us. We have stacks of dirt on you, your advisers, your associates. It's not a pretty picture. Who knows what could wind up on Wikileaks these days. Did you really think all those super computers under Fort Meade were only listening in on terrorist phone calls?" "OK, OK... I'll get on it right away. Between the President and giving the Tycoons what I promised them, I have my hands full right now." "How many times do we have to tell you? Our interests - before the Tycoons - get it?" "Yes Sir". "Good, now smile and shake hands for the cameras and don't forget to wear a tie next time we meet."
2. Imagine that:
On the Balcony ,   Akko/NY/Kyiv   (06.30.13)
Israel lacks the imagination and creativity to prevent the following from happening: Palestine becomes a full-fledged member of the United Nations; the ICJ convicts leading Israeli politicians for "war crimes"; the U.N. Security Council formally orders (not advises or recommends) Israel to withdraw from settlements more than one or two kilometers from the "Green Line"; the BDS movement is embraced and legitimized by the EU; the international community blocks the further development of Israel' gas fields; Russia and Iran occupy Syria while Obama plays the role of Pontius Pilate and leaves Israel's fate to the whims of the international community. If you think that any one or all of these events are as "unimaginable" as making peace with Palestine then you need a better imagination.
3. Thank you America
Kobi Martin ,   Tel Aviv   (06.30.13)
For helping us to find peace and a future for our children.
4. # 2 maybe - maybe not
Harvey ,   London   (06.30.13)
But one thing for sure , all infinitely preferable to having Hamas , Hezbollah and Iran within ten clicks of down town Tel Aviv once they have finished obliterating Syria and their own people . Israel and the world has witnessed the sheer barbarism of the Arab world , Turkey and Iran and with all due respect we will pass on the invitation to create another hell hole on our doorstep . The Arab Spring has turned into the Arab nightmare as we all knew it would . In any case here are a few preconditions from a bystander . Forget Jerusalem . Forget RoR . Full demilitarised state . Dismantlement of all terrorist organisations and removal of all weaponry beyond police hand guns . Recognition of the state of Israel as a Jewish state in perpetuity .
5. #2 on the balcony
Dror ,   Haifa, Israel   (06.30.13)
Worst case scenarios are not beyond our imagination. I have some worst case scenarios for you that you may have not contemplated. *The US dollar hyperinflates. *America goes to War in Syria as a diversionary measure. *WWIII starts * The world goes into financial meltdown * The world gangs up on Israel to scapegoat her * GOD DESTROYS THEM ALL!
6. Here we go again
haider ,   Gothenburg, Sweden   (06.30.13)
To all of you out there holding your breath, DON`T. I do not understand why some Israelis cannot feel the suffering of their cousins, the Palestinians. The same suffering that the parents or grandparents of the Israeli jews endured for ages.
7. #2. Oh I'm Scared
Bill Steun ,   USA   (06.30.13)
There are always counter measures that Israel could use against these measures and threats after all they would be considered acts of War by Israel.
8. Harvey in Londonistan
Dror ,   Haifa, Israel   (06.30.13)
If it comes down to it, I will martyr myself on all of the Muslim hordes that gang up on us from the North. I will not let myself get killed until I have at least taken a hundred of those bastards to hell with me.. I mean that with all the genuiness I can muster.. I will kill as many of them as I can before they get me..
9. Sweden, shovel that s**t somewhere else
Dror ,   Haifa, Israel   (06.30.13)
They suffer because we exist.. they suffer because they cannot stand our existence. There is a big huge difference in why they feel they are suffering. Those turds have homes, cars, plenty of food and money. They suffer because their pride has been wounded not because they are being hunted down for genocide by barbaric europeans.
10. # 2 Totally agree
Kobi Martin ,   Tel Aviv   (06.30.13)
On the Balcony... you are totally right. But here, in these talkbacks, you find only two kinds of freaks: those living abroad that, just for the fact of being Jews think that they can mess in our destiny; and the freaks that have a messianic though, defending some superior force will help us. The excess of over confidence will destroy Israel. The arrogance, the lack of vision, the power of the diaspora in our affairs. All this is eroding our values and our future. They don't know what is a real war. They were not here when we set the country. There will be a day - sooner than we want - where a solution will be imposed on us and we will have no choice but accept it. People from Brooklyn - and some of them receive money from the Palestinian lobby - are attacking Kerry efforts to bring peace to our region. Why these people want to see Israel boycotted, humiliated, isolated and weak? Why? Isn't better to have borders, be respected and admired?
11. #6 Naive Europe. Pals want state for themselves only.
Sam ,   Canada   (06.30.13)
Contrary to what Europe thinks Palestinians reject a 2 state solution that includes an Israel with a Jewish majority. Whether a 1 state or 2 state solution they want all the states to be Palestinian. Why then should Jews give a bleep about Palestinians? Palestinians seek the destruction of Israel. No less.
12. #6-Haider: Let's get one thing straight.
Sabra   (06.30.13)
The Palestinians ARE NOT our cousins! They are our enemies, hell bent on our destruction.
13. Why are we still talking about a 2 state solution
Bald Eagle ,   South Florida   (06.30.13)
in mid-2013. Much as the entire world drank the cool-aid, the concept was dead in the water even before it was articulated. The real reason why there can't be a Palestinian state next door to Israel, is that there simply isn't enough water in the region to support another state. The aquifer Israel sits on is depleting. Since the Palestinians insist on pre-conditions that are existentially detrimental to Israel's, Israel ought to insist that along with border security, resource security, especially water, is her precondition. No peace, no water. Let's see how quickly the Palestinians come to the table then.
14. #6 Naive Europe. Pals want state for themselves only.

15. Kobi you are a fatalistic loser
Dror ,   Haifa, Israel   (06.30.13)
You have no clue what is coming. If the world succeeds in forcing the Jews out of Judea and Samaria than it is they that will be abjectly humiliated, isolated, weakened, ruined. You live in this age old bubble assuming that the fate of the Jewish people lays in the hands of the nations. That is why you will not benefit from the Providence that we are now witnessing. If you had eyes you would be able to see but you don't. Oh and Yes, I am getting paid personnlay by the Yasser Arafat fund for counter intellignece psy op operations against simple minds like yourself.. CHHH.

Haider is a German name not a Swedish. Arn.Sweden.
17. Kerry: Misdirected! Egypt murders Christians, Syria murders
Ann ,   Netanya   (06.30.13)
everyone. Lebanon, with Hezbollah at its helm is a terror state and yet Kerry is coming to Israel? WTF? Does anyone see that this as a waste of time. The palis are just other Muslims who want to murder others, Israel being in the way of their caliphate, so the immediate issue. If they get Israel, they will start with the West, it will not end anything, it will just be the beginning to more terrorism around the globe.
18. # 15 Dror
Kobi Martin ,   Tel Aviv   (06.30.13)
I should not waste my time talking to religious people because their mind is already framed and impermeable. But you seem to be a nice man, so I will concede for a while. Time has come, my friend, to find a peaceful solution between us and our neighbours, Palestinians. They are not easy neighbors but many country around the world have disgusting neighbors. Just imagine to have border with North Korea or Venezuela. Israel is stronger. And will always be. Once Jews leave the West Bank, Palestinians will have two options: either being a nice neighbor, cooperate and prosper with us. Or provoke us and feel our strength and might, as Gazans and Lebanese have experimented it. It is up to them. What we can no longer do is assume we can occupy a neighbor resorting to security arguments. So.. I wonder.. why not occupy the whole Jordan? Or Lebanon? Or Syria? Israel's borders end in the Green Line. 133 countries recognize this. Most of artists, companies are also realizing this. We will end up like South Africa and in the end, we will have to concede, as we have been doing with Turkey. Enough with humiliation. We want peace. We want to be respected and admired. The only Jewish State in the world has to show that we are decent and menschen. Read a bit more and come back with more solid and consistent arguments.
19. Dror, how many bombs in your TA coffee?
David ,   Shiloh Israel   (06.30.13)
I'm an ordinary guy living on the hill range to your east, overlooking Tel Aviv. Ask any mates who live south of you, like Ashkelon, how pleased they were with the Gush Katif pull back? If you seriously beleive that the threat to your peaceful existence in Tel Aviv could evaporate by forcing me out of my home, and handing it over to Ahmed, then you're probably putting too many drugs in your coffee. Maybe two spoonfalls of incoming bombs from our departed settlements will give you a better taste of altered reality? For the record, I like Tel Aviv and also getting on with many Arab neighbors, and think other options rather than national suicide are possible. In thinking that 'shrink ourselves mentatilty' to preserve a Jewish homeland is the answer than why not at least consult a decent shrink? Shalom!
20. Face it; Abbas needs a corrupt nego. partner
Steve   (06.30.13)
As disappointed as I've been with Netanyahu, over his 2009 Bar Ilan speech, his pleadings to meet with the Palestinian Holocaust denier, his repeated assertion that he supports a two state solution, etc., Netanyahu is no Ehud Olmert. It is not likely Abbas will talk to him because he knows Netanyahu has his "number." Could be wrong. Abbas longs for a corrupt prime minister to arise in Israel; one who is willing to sacrifice security, sacrifice Israel as a Jewish state; one who is willing to sell his soul for "peace."
21.  Kobi #10: "You of little faith. Why are you so afraid?"
Steve   (06.30.13)
22. #5 How do you know that G-d didn't
On the Balcony ,   Akko/NY/Kyiv   (06.30.13)
send Kerry? How do you know that G-d doesn't want us to sacrifice Judea and Samaria for peace? How do you know anything that G-d will or won't do? You don't. And neither do I or anyone else. And frankly, after Aushwitz, how can anyone think that they understand anything about G_d.
23. I have considered your response, Kobi
Dror ,   Haifa, Israel   (06.30.13)
Unlike you I could care less if the world respects or admires us. I want them to leave us alone. I do not want them meddling in our buisness or telling us what to do. They want to cut us off and sanction us, they want to humble us and make us bend and bow to them. Well, all I can say to them is that I wish them all the ill will and hatred they show to us in the guise of advising us for our own good. You can go on groveling to them. You can go on kissing their feet. Maybe that will be your salvation. Maybe they will take you in once you feel that Israel is no longer inhabitable for you. Maybe we need grovelers like you to delay them and stall them until they taste what God has in store for them. Their time is OVER! You cannot seem to see or understand this. The sanctimonious two faced wind bags in Europe and America are about to taste the wrath of God, and it will not taste good. Their economies are close to crashing. Their currencies are going to crash. They will go to war over the MONEY! OVER THE POWER! and they will destroy one another. AND YOU WANT THEIR ADMIRATION? You want these lying bastards to like YOU!?
24. It is not entirely clear to this poster how it is that the..
Jehudah Ben-Israel ,   Qatzrin, Israel   (06.30.13)
...American empire allows an autonomous region that consists of 1.75 million people, i.e. the Palestinian Authority, to dictate to it its international moves. It is humiliating to see the Foreign Secretary of the United States of America practically getting down on his knees and begging the head of the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO), considered until recently an international terror organization, to drop his preconditions demanded in order to sit down and begin to talk about peace. If the PLO's leadership thinks the peace is not of value but for the Americans, let this leadership stew in its own political and financial juices, without the sustaining funds coming from Washington. It is time to say loud and clear, and to mean it: Peace for peace's sake through direct talks by the parties, without preconditions and based strictly on UN Security Council Resolution, 242, 1967, which has been the constant and mutually agreed basis for all the talks and agreements to date!!
25. #19 David
Dror ,   Haifa, Iisrael   (06.30.13)
I think you meant to address your comments to Kobi in Tel Aviv.. I am in Haifa.. AND I AM NOT A DEFEATEST like the a*s kissers in TA.
26. On the Balcony
Dror ,   Haifa, Israel   (06.30.13)
The Holocasust conundrum.. You seem to think that this is your check mate in such debates. Your type usually do. I will summarize. Over 50 million people died in WWII. Close to 20 million Germans they speculate died in the war. The Jews of Europe had committed most of the afronts possible against God over a period of 2 to 3 centuries possible. They fought over money and killed each other for money like dogs. They fought for their respective host nations in WWI. Jews killed Jews for France and Germany or Russia, Austria, Italy, etc. THE JEWS OF EUROPE let themselves go and so they were lost. They wanted to be liked, they wanted to be admired, they wanted to be accepted. RING A BELL??? Do not tell me why God turned away from them... Do not tell me why God turns away from the likes of defeatests and suck ups like you!!
27. # 23
Kobi Martin.   (06.30.13)
No Dror, What I want is my country to be respected. We have to dissociate ourselves from the Palestinians. Take a look at the world. Are Indians occupying Pakistanis because they feel threatened? Are South Koreans? Are Americans occupying Cuba? The West Bank is not ours. Never was. Not even Jerusalem. Remember our leaders accepted the Partition without Jerusalem. So.. why resort to religious arguments? The reality is that this conflict will not have an end till we give the Palestinian their country. If they behave, both of us will prosper. If they don't they will feel our wrath. Stop saying shtuyot. Our leaders are imploring the pardon of Turkey. We are desperate trying to avoid Israbel to be taken to the ICC by the Pals. We are crazy about selling goods to China, to India. For that we need an international standing. For that we need to be a normal, decent country, no matter the quality of our neighbours.
28. To Haider
Dov ben David ,   Eilat, Israel   (06.30.13)
We Isralis both can and feel the suffering of the Palestinians. We need to sit down and negotiate about the land, without hearing that we stole it from them. I presume you would call that argument for "historielöshet" in your country
29. #23 big-mouth Dror
Michael ,   Haifa   (06.30.13)
When the world imposes economic sanctions....(remember how they did it to South Africa and Serbia ?) you will be the last bigmouth talkbacker spouting bravado on YNET
