1. Well . . . .
Mike ,   NZ   (06.30.13)
We have to start somewhere, at sometime and by someone !!! Would'nt be a shocker if peace broke out !!
2. A feel good event that changes nothing.
Chaim ,   Israel   (07.01.13)
Don't like to rain on anybody's parade but this is another feel good event that changes nothing. Events like these don't change the fact that "Palestinians" are a fictional people created to justify the destruction of Israel. It won't change the PLO charter... It won't change genocidal broadcasts on P.A. TV. But it makes a few kids feel good for a few hours.
3. settlments for peace.
USA, jew ,   FL USA   (07.01.13)
now I understand Y kerry dosent reach any peace plan, the PA doesn't want real peace like abu-gush, they want peace like Morsey in egypt, a peace full of Vs. so why freeze'd PM Natanyahu the settelment bulding???? They are the real peacekeepers in our region???? Keep bulding more & more!!!! then ul c how the peace efforts are growing up and up, more & more, try to explain it for thees crazy washington polititions, BOTTOM LINE KEEP BULDING IN THE WHOLE "HOLY LAND" no matter where!!! jew's of USA
4. A beginning...
A Jerusalemite ,   Jerusalem, Israel   (07.01.13)
This may be a 'feel good' moment for some teenagers - but more of these will hopefully also produce less of the opposite. Our future is in the hands of these teenagers - may they remain strong and influential in their fight for a strong nation of full equality for all.
5. Excuse me, but ....
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (07.01.13)
..... the perpetrators of the vandalism in Abu Ghosh have not been caught. I see no reason to assume a priori that the vandals are Jews. They could easily be Arabs who are deliberately planting seeds of discord where none existed. We know Abbas is desperate. I'm sure he is the one who is behind the rash of violence against Arab property.
6. Denying Palestinian existence
James ,   Canada   (07.01.13)
Denying the Palestinians existence and calling them fictional is just as bad as Holocaust denial. Both are shameful and idiotic.
7. obviously
rm ,   Amsterdan, NL   (07.01.13)
more of these meetings should be organised. We can't expect much from the adults so let's prepare the kids for a new mindset. Great initiative
8. to no.3
Jennnie ,   Israel/US   (07.01.13)
Couldn't agree more with your view.. The only way to peace for Israel, is keeping the Nation vigilant, every inch of our land for ourselves & IDF strong...And if We ever learned ANYTHING over the past 64 years, it is to cherish every inch of our tiny Homeland...The "land for peace" concept is simply a trap, that is only perceived as weekness...How quickly we forget the lands, we have already given up for peace, only to get more war...
9. #6 right on the spot
Rau   (07.01.13)
Jews have to learn that they can't have it both ways.
10. Why pre assumption vandals are Israeli
Adi ,   Zurich   (07.01.13)
Why pre assumption vandals are Israeli
11. correct misconceptions
israel israeli ,   tel aviv   (07.01.13)
It seems that the Talkbackers miss some important facts. Abu Ghosh residents are Israeli citizens. In 1948, they heroically fought alongside the Jews against the racist Al-Husseini gang, always enjoyed full rights and never lived under martial law. These meetings should be regular. The Arab kids will realize you can be Israeli and Arab, and you don't have to hate Jews if you are Muslim. The Jewish kids will learn that not all Arabs are Jew-hating racists, and that we all all owe a great debt to the Arabs who helped us win independence. As for the graffitti: we are waiting for the police to catch who ever did it. My guess is Israeli Leftists.
12. according to the picture, the presence of muslims
ghostq   (07.01.13)
is very scarce, of corse chritians who happened to be arabs and jews live peacfully with each other. muslims r utterly different thing.
13. to #6 holocaust got nothing to do with
ghostq   (07.01.13)
palestinians, and palis got barely 200 years of history.
14. #6 You're comparing the Holocaust
Kalman   (07.01.13)
where 6 MILLION JEWS were brutally slain to a few newly invented group of Jordanian Arabs who never existed before? Where were they before June 4 1967?
15. #15 denying the existence of Palestinian
On the Balcony ,   Akko/NY/Kyiv   (07.01.13)
Arabs is as offensive to Palestinian-Arabs as holocaust denial is to Jews. Take note that under the mandate both Jews and Arabs were given Palestinian CITIZENSHIP. (Read Article 7 of the Mandate.) After the Partition Plan, we, Palestinian-Jews, chose the name Israel for our country declared independence and became Israeli. The Arabs who were on this land during the Mandate period have chosen to call themselves Palestinian.
16. Good news
Bertram ,   London, UK   (07.01.13)
You would think that only those who are prisoners of their own constructed existence could look upon such meetings in a negative and cynical manner. In fact, that is indeed the case. Sarah B and Chaim still live - and want to live - in the ghetto. Real Israelis should be ashamed of them.
17. To: On the Balcony No. 15
Bertram ,   London, UK   (07.01.13)
Exactly. Succinctly stated.
18. #6. No sane comparison between Jews & "Palestininans".
Chaim ,   Israel   (07.01.13)
There is no sane comparison between Jews and "Palestinians". Jews have a history going back 6,000 years. "Palestinians" are a fictional people created after Israel's liberation of Judea and Samaria in 1967. There never was a state of Palestine, in Judea and Samaria, and never will be one.
19. to 31
Jennie ,   Israel/US   (07.01.13)
I guess, being high there on the balcony, is making your head spin.. It would be wise of you to learn some historical facts...Such as for example: it is the so-called palestinians, who are waging war&terror on Israel and refuse every peace initiative...And Kerry has nothing to do with it...The simple fact is, that Israel has nothing to negotiate about...The sovereign Jewish State, has been approved and proclaimed by the League of Nations since May of 1948.. And all of those 65 years, we have never stopped defending our rightful existence by wars and endless terror against our tiny spek of land in the ocean of enemies...It is about time to learn, that we do not have a partner for negotiations, nore did we ever have one...Our strenghts is the only assurance for peace, we have so far...And when there is peace in Israel, the whole world benefits from it....Won't you aggree ?
20. #6 - "Palestinians" ARE phony!
Jake in Jerusalem ,   Jerusalem, Israel   (07.01.13)
Saying the Holocaust never happened is denying the truth and the facts. By contrast, saying that there has never in history been a Palestinian state, kingdom, country or empire is STATING a fact, not DENYING it! I lived outside Gaza City in the 1960s and the Arab there STILL hadn't started calling themselves "Palis". The ONLY reason they want a Pali state now is to take land from Israel (which they failed to do in multiple wars). Back when they already had all of that land (including Jerusalem), they NEVER called for a "Palestinian" state! Never! Back then, they only wanted to "Push the Jews into the sea." If you truly want to liberate Palestine from occupation and give power to the indigenous people, you'll get rid of "King" Abdullah II of Jordan and send him back to Arabia, from whence he and his family came. After all, Jordan *IS* Palestine!
21. #2 I think you are incorrect. These young
Don't be so negative   (07.02.13)
People don't want violence they want peace. Leaders can sign peace agreements but the establishers of peace are the people (like these young people)
