33. These are problems they brought on themselves
Raymond in DC ,   Washington, USA   (07.22.13)
A few years ago, my group's dinner guest was one of Israel's leading water engineers, who in the past had contact with Gaza's water authorities. He reports having warned Gaza against the very practices that would destroy the aquifer. But they hate Israel and Jews so much they elected to ignore that advice. The fact that Gazahas any semblance of a water and sewage infrastructure is only due to Israel, which administered the territory from 1967 until it turned responsibility over to the PA. A few years ago, material for a sewage project was diverted - pipes for Qassams, cement for Hamas bunkers - and failure at one existing plant resulted in a flood of raw sewage. Nonetheless, Israel continues to help, providing both electricity and a few million cm of water. Of course, Reuters neglected to mention that.

aaron ,   toronto,canada   (07.22.13)
Why are unicef & Oxfam waisting our time and dollars? If you need a billion dollars go to the STINKY SAUDIS AND UAE and get the money from them or don't they believe in helping their fellow muslim brothers like they do when it comes to arms to KILL THE JEWS.
35. Space for Gazawites
Raphael ,   Netanya   (07.22.13)
The Gaza strip is bordering a 60,000 sq km empty territory, 3 times Israel's area. Why don't they dispatch their sprawling demography there to ease overpopulation, instead of quoting apartheid any attempt to prevent their entrance into tiny croxded Israel?

Play blame game, cry loudest, and get what you want free, no need of education because Oxfam and UN expertise are available, just give us your precious land we’ll trample it under feet. What a burden to claim Israel land by force - God of Israel lives forever as their water turned bitter. Amen!!!
40. There is plenty water a plenty in the big hotels in Gaza
Jo   (07.22.13)
In Israel every household is billed for the water it receives, do the Gazans pay for their water? Even a small substity?
41. Let them drink rocket fuel

daniela   (07.23.13)
¨complicating the issue is Israel's blockade of the Gaza Strip, which activists say has prevented the import of materials needed for repairs....¨ Do those people ever asked how then.. with blockade and everything can Hamas keep importing missiles? What are those tunnels under Gaza doing then?? Why does the egyptian army closing some of the tunnels if they were used to bring building materials?
45. Why should the Gazan's care about this?
frauss ,   Jerusalem   (07.23.13)
They build up their arms, conquer Israel and have all the water they want! No problem.
46. #45 Seems they don't care
Cynthia ,   USA   (07.23.13)
Gazans average 5-6 children per family then complain they don't have adequate food and water. They could also use money from their weapons smuggling enterprise to solve the water problem.

48. Actually spyguy from seattle...
Bartley Kulp ,   Haifa, Israel   (07.24.13)
Epidemics do not jump fences. I also think that all things being considered it is the Gazans who should start rethinking about their attitude towards Israel.
